Good chilly morning,

It's chilly this morning but going to upper 50's for the next several days and NO RAIN! Yay! I might take a few hours and go outside and do some yard work this week.

LORI - So how is your hubby? Saying prayers he is OK. With a strong family history of heart disease, he is wise to get every episode checked out. And I've always been one to put my lotto and swap blocks together as soon as they come back to me, too, but this past 18 months or so, I've been negligent. My sewing room has been humming with other projects that were a priority. But I'll get caught up again this year. I promise. Jack and Wrigley crack me up! lol!

LYN - Nice to lunch with friends and at your favorite restaurant and catch up. You've been gone a long time. Our insurance doesn't send us any "merch" but occasional charities do and I agree - I send money for their cause, not to send me back blankets, calendars, tablets and such.

TINA - You know, Lori suggested that perhaps you have something more than plantar fasciitis. There are other causes of foot pain - among them arthritis, Morton's Neuroma, stress fractures, ill-fitting shoes, overuse, and sudden loss of weight are some of them. I hope your doctor checked for everything. When I had P.F. it hurt mostly only when I first started walking after resting. Your foot seems to hurt all the time. Did you have XRays?

JANA - I have to tell you it has been a fascinating joy to watch all your littles growing up. I feel like I know them all! I even got to meet Ethan in person when he was a baby. I bet Tanner is going to do well in basketball. And I'm so happy to hear he holding his JRA at bay and may even get off meds in a few years. How is Mr. G doing after his procedure last week? Did you get your tote bag made?

JUDI, you relaxer, you = what's on the docket for today? Good weather, I hope. Have you started missing home yet? And the cold and snow??

FLO LOUISE - Or Flo-Lo? :D Glad you are warming up. I feel for your chickens. I bet they would love it if you spread a few electric blankets in their coop.

VAL - wasn't your 6 hr class yesterday (if you went ) with another 3 hr class to follow? Did you decide to go and if so how did you do? I know one class was Mariners Compass, wasn't it?

LOIS - I hope my APQ magazine arrives soon. For some reason my magazines always seem to arrive after everyone else's. Maybe because it goes to a PMB at the UPS store instead of to a mailbox at our house. And we only pick up our mail about 3 times/week. Did you find anything in there to tempt you? How is your hubby's neck? My chiro(s) (father/son) use percussors which seem to be much more effective and lasting than the old fashioned manipulations.

CHRISS - what's doing at your house today? Is your new computer all set up? Reading about your weed eating almost makes me think spring is on its way! How is First Kiss quilt for Elliott coming along?

MARY Q - did I miss you yesterday? What did you do with your day?

Yesterday was 3 loads of laundry, including towels and sheets. And I got the bed remade. Then I went grocery shopping - a 3-bag trip - and spent a few hours in the kitchen putting things away, making deviled eggs, a fruit tray, and cleaning up. I took the eggs and fruit to Doyle & Susie's last night. They provided pinwheel sandwiches and ice cream bars. It was a finger-feast! I got lemon yogurt for a fruit dip and it went really well. I also got NYB block #14 finished and #15 prepped. I think I've found my groove with this project. It's going faster now, though with good weather (meaning yard work) and spring cleaning (before my sis arrives March 17) on my short horizon, I'll soon be slowing down again. But that's OK. I think. This quilt has me in its grips. I even dream about it at night and I can't wait to get up in the morning and start working on it again. I wonder if there is a support group . . . .

Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning it is sunny and 61 right now but we will go to 77 today, We have nothing planned ( but that doent mean anything,) I do need to go up to CVS and get an RX filled. but that is all.
Yesterday My friend GLoria and I were sitting around being bored and decided to go quilt shop shopping, many have closed but although I dont buy much itis nice to pet fabric and see what is new...several that were on the list have closed..One shop had to downsized to a very small space and sell off her stuff...she was very bitter about it and blamed all quilters who shop on line...I could have soent time talking her off the ledge but she was sure it was all the fault. I actually found some fabric for a future project but decided not to buy. yet, I didnt have all the info to buy. but it was fun One shop was very big and full of stuff,,,the sales people were super friendly and helpful.
I did made 75 more yoyos. and may do more today Hope you all have a great day. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning!

Quite chilly outside, but sunny and bright. May even get around 60! A heat wave!

Sarah was down last night and showed Mr G how she's organizing the folders on her computer with the scanned pictures. He's very fussy about that and she took care of all that fussiness! And we got him to agree to the new computer configuration as well. So we ordered 2 new Dell laptops with the necessary extras. The new computers will be here on Friday. The Dell factory is practically next door to me here, about 6 miles down the road.. so with that done, I'll be able to finally play with a Christmas present from 2 years ago, my Cricut! It was bought with the idea of using it to cut OWL pieces parts, as well as Kimberbell too. Some have the Cricut cutting files. My old computer couldn't run it, too old of a operating system.

I am picking up Ethan this afternoon, which will be the only distraction from playing in the Batt Cave. Sarah has meetings and it's orchestra day, but she's taking him there.

Mr G is all done with last week's procedure. The temporary stent was removed yesterday and all is well! He can see too, his new glasses were at the eye doctor. He got rid of the bifocals and went to two pair. The bifocals were giving him fits in his sight, and now these are great. The bifocal line caused a depth perception problem on stairs which caused confusion and missed steps and falls. Nothing serious, but we hope we fixed it in time before something major. Mr G is very happy to see!

That's about it here, better get my day started, before it's over!

Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Good morning Girls

Sorry I missed you yesterday! I watched too much of the news online and got behind schedule--- looked at the clock and went OH-OH!! I had to get in motion and shower up etc . I took a little "road trip" (anything further than 10 miles is a road trip to me  ) I gathered up all the little quilt tops and baby things I'd sewn for Bundles of Love and took them to them. It's about a 1/2 hour drive, but it's worth it as not only is it fun to sew for them, but I get to see Shawn as his office is in the same building!

I'm waiting for a text from Kevin this morning to see where he wants to meet for lunch. He texted me last night to invite me to meet for lunch as he doesn't work until 3pm today. Kind of makes me nervous, as this is a very rare occurrence, to be invited for lunch.... like am I going to get some bad news!? :?

On my way home I stopped at a JoAnn store. Oh what a mess! It was quite busy, but the sales right now aren't any big deal 20-25-40% off things. A lot of empty shelves. They had a good amount of fabric (tho I only picked up only some white) but no Notions--that wall was totally empty. No embroidery floss. Very limited yarn, tho I did pick up a couple skeins of baby yarn. I feel so bad for the clerks there, #1 they are working very hard with it so busy and #2 they are losing their jobs. I haven't bought a lot of JoAnn fabric recently, mostly because I have so much, but I can really tell the quality has gone down after the last couple years. Seems after Covid the fabric just wasn't as nice. I'd love to shop at the LQS and buy all my fabric there, but I just can't justify $14-16 a yard for the kind of quilts I make. If I was wanting to make an eall heirloom type quilt, maybe I would. It is sad that so many LQS are closing etc, Quilting is an expensive hobby!

Need to jump in the shower here (two days in a row!!) Normally, if I'm going to be home all day, I only shower every other day, but when my son asks to meet for lunch.... I'm gonna shower!!

will check in with you all tomorrow, tho it will be a quick one again, as Peg and I are going to go check out a couple thrift and consignment stores - it's kind of nice to be out of the house again!!

wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday!

Good morning everyone 🌞
Maryz, you're really rolling through those blocks, it's going to be gorgeous! No, the Dr didn't do X-rays, she did order for me to get some before my next appointment in May 🀦 . I got my magazine too, there's at least 1 in it I want to make and there's a picture of another called Garden Pathway from Spring of 2018 issue that I'd love to have the pattern to, do you happen to have that one so I could get a copy of the pattern by any chance?
Lois, I hope they get his neck loosened up, that can be painful.
Lori, how is your DH doing, I'm hoping he's alright.
Judi, that's sad about the lady being so bitter....she could've done a website and sold online too to help boost her sales I guess. I've noticed that some small shops don't ever have sales and are way higher on their prices than others. What project have you found?
Jana, that'll be fun to be able to finally get to use your cricut! I didn't know they did temporary stents. I have to get my bifocals lower than regular because my eyes look lower than most and it is quite the yucky feeling when they interfere with my regular view.
Maryq, I'd like to go to the JoAnn's in Cruces and see about the flannel wide backing, that's what I use on the backs of all the quilts I make.
I see dust and dirt again on the floors, ugh.....we really need new flooring but LOL that's not happening anytime in the next few years unless we win the lottery LOL
I need to trim my rose bushes, they're starting to come out early because of the warmer temps. I also have 4 lilac bushes that Frankie needs to move this week.
If anyone has the American Patchwork Spring/Summer 2018 with the Garden Pathways pattern in it I'd really appreciate a copy of the pattern if at all possible.
You all have a great day!
Prayers for all in need πŸ™
Tina

Bill is fine. After doing many tests, they couldn't find anything unusual. He has a doctors appointment on Monday with his PCP, and one in June with the Cardiologist. He had this about 2 years ago and he was fine then too. Thanks for your prayers and good vibes.

Tina, our roses came back early too. I think because it was warmer and we haven't had much rain.

Judi, glad you got to go to a quilt shop even though it wasn't the best experience. Touching fabric is always nice.

Maryq, I hope you are at lunch enjoying your time with Kevin. It's really sad about Joann's going out of business. I went by one last week for thread and a lot of the shelves were empty. Yes, quilting is expensive. That was nice of you do drop off things for the charity.

Jana, I love my Cricut. I thought about using for my OWL, but didn't. I have used it for other project though.

Lois, our group is shrinking, isn't it.

Maryz, I think your focus got moved to more important projects for the little miss in your life. How is she doing? Does she miss you and Bill?

Chriss, what are you doing today? Are you still having nice weather. How is the little goof ball dog of yours?

I haven't done much this morning, so I need to get busy. A little cleaning is in order. I was able to layer 2 quilts yesterday as well as drop a large one off to be quilted. I was going to do it myself, but a queen size is really hard to push though my domestic machine. I didn't get everything done at dad's on Monday, so I'll go up today and do a bit. It's supposed to hit 85 degrees, so I'll open up the house up there.

Dinner will be fried rice and chicken.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning, missed you all yesterday. It was DH 70th birrthday. I worked and then we went to dinner at the Brazilian Steakhouse in Napa. It was good, I just had the salad bar. DH had the whole Sheabang. Today I have gone on my walk, to the bank, groceries and now home. Lots of paper piecing homework to do for my next class on my mariners compass quilt. I may be in over my head. I will focus on that and binding on the Owl quilt for the time being. I do have Kansas Troubles class on Monday but I will see how far I get on my homework. I have to be ready for the class at 4pm on Monday evening.

I am trying very hard to keep up with myself. The washer broke yesterday so that has put a spin on things. the closest safe wash house is in Benicia which is 10 miles down the road.

Maryz I ony went to the 3 hour class. The 6 hour thing was MAD monday where we make charity quilts. That is a good thing but honestly I don't care for the women who runs it. She will tell you you can make whatever, but then tells you what to make. Decided since I have basically no paper piecing experience, it was best to go not irritated at her.

Lois I think I have to draw the line with a machine around my neck. I must have missed something here.

Judi I did buy a bit of fabric the other night for the Gem Tones Topaz blocks. But other than that, I am trying not to buy.

Jana glad to hear Mr. G can see again. Kind of an important thing to be able to do.

Maryq remind me who Kevin is? Never mind I see he is your son. Well, I hope all the news is good.

Tina yes, PF can be very painful. When DH had it he hurt anytime he tried to walk and the longer he walked the worse it got. Antiinflamatories, the ice water bottle, and well fitting shoes are what helped him the most. His dr. said to never walk without shoes with a good sturdy instep. To this day he doesn't go barefoot except first thing the morning before his shower.

Lori good news for Bill. Always nice when the dr tells you all is good.

The shop I go to that was doing Free Sew has stopped doing that. It is now open sew and $10 a session with no staff assistance. I get that isn't much. The Davis shop charges $15 but do offer help if you need it. Antioch was charging $5 and providing help. So it's a bit irritating but times are changing. I am wondering if there will be backlash as many seats are still open, (Free Sew was always full) and therefore not as many in the shop to buy. I tried to purchase a least a little something as it was Free. I guess I will have to rethink that. I did sign up for two sessions but that's all that's in the budget.

I am really struggling with staying one more month at work. The CM for my patients (yep I have 2 now) left the company. That leaves only one for Solano and Napa counties and she is not my favorite person. I really want to give notice now, but DH wants me to stay through March. We do have the April trip coming up but I am thinking the kids need to start contributing a bit more. My DD has helped us with the cabin costs. They also rented a second one as they invited some friends. I think he is worried about the budget but I think it will be okay.

Anyway, if I am going to make any progress on this Mariner's Compass, I best get to getting. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

I'm back.....
I trimmed my roses and Frankie moved the 5 lilac bushes that I wanted moved. He's still got day lilies and irises to move for me, he's nice to do that for me πŸ’—
Valerie, that's exactly how mine is, the more I'm on it the more it hurts and it doesn't take much for it to get so bad that I can't walk on it at all..... like now.... it's aggravating. When it's like this when I get up from sitting it's a bite my lip and hold my breath the first few steps and use a cane. The steroid did help me some but it was only for 6 days.
I got all my stuff watered while I was outside. The breeze is kicking up and to me it's cool even though the temperature says 78Β°.
