Yesterday we finished the house no laundry to speak of so I'm in the clear.
We had a dusting last night oh well winter still wants to be here.
Today we have to make a BJ's run because I'm out of some stuff.
So that's what will do.
Well I have to go hop in the shower get ready as we are leaving around 10.

I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all .

Good morning,

JUDI - I am relaxing just your reading your post! Mexican Train and Papa John's on paper plates - my kind of evening. Have you had a day at the beach yet?

LOIS - we don't have a BJ's here but there is a restaurant chain in Texas called BJ's. Every time you mention making a BJ's run, I immediately think you are running out to have lunch. Then I remember that this is a store in your area of the country. I think.

CHRISS - Today is tree neighbor day! This is working out well, isn't it. Did you get to see Elliott this week?

LYN - it does kind of suck - go south for the winter and get stuck with freezing temps! Two years ago we
had a week of 15*. Over Christmas. Our 30' fiver grew smaller and smaller each day! Hope it warms up for you. I'm ready to unpack that cargo trailer and start setting up your cabin! What quilt are you working on? The one for the MH bed?

VAL - glad the package made it there. And I hope they are fabrics that you can use. How close to your white fabric did I come? I think sinus arrhythmia is just a not uncommon abnormal heartrate, isn't it? Does not require intervention. If you gotta have something heart-y, this is a good thing to have.

JANA - that was quite a story about The Quilt! I can't imagine quilting through 2" batt. I would have probably tied it. And a nice save with the pink marker!

MARY Q - Oh, I hope Jen still has whatever remains of that quilt - and framing it would make an amazing family heirloom! Yes, I have had raspberry vinaigrette and it was OK. I don't care for Olive Garden's dressing. Too tart for me. I'm a bleu cheese girl myself. I did find a basalmic recipe so I bought the ingredients and I'll make it this morning. And I bought a bottle of ready made, too, for back-up. Are you warming up yet?

TINA - you spend a lot of time cleaning. If I lived there I think I'd spend a lot of time living in a dirty house! I suppose though, it's time for me to come out of my sewing room and do a bit of cleaning here, too. And if your dad wants to discontinue his injections, a major change like this is the purrfect time to insert yourself in his appointments. Tell him it's a family thing and you want to make sure you hear what the dr has to say. I always went with my dad.

LORI - I've heard of Edgefield Winery but never been there. The very first winery I ever went tasting at was in Oregon. More than 30 years ago. Long overgrown driveway with high grass between tire ruts. We bounced our way to an old barn where a 2x12 board was set across two barrels. Tastes were about 10 cc poured into 30cc plastic med cups. The wine wasn't all that great, but it was all free in those days. One of my best winery memories!

Bill got results from his CT scan on My Chart - sort of. It said what we already knew - soft tissue nodule adjacent to the thyroid. And they now recommend a more thyroid specific CT scan. So we're back to waiting - wait for dr response, next appointment, yada yada.

Yesterday was errands and grocery shopping, including Costco. I did two loads of laundry and made the 7th NYB block. I'm getting the hang of this quilt and really enjoying it. But with the pile of fabrics I'm working from, and all the trimmings and paper flying around, my sewing room is quite a spectacular mess! This morning I have a chiro appt, Scottie has a groom appt, and Bill has a welding appt. Then we go pick up Scott, I will make my salad, and I hope to start another block. I know there won't be time to finish it. Then we're going to a dinner party for 8 at 4:30. It's going to be a full day. We won't get home until about 10:30. It will be fun to see everyone again! This is our local Supper Club, composed of 3 ladies from Bill's exercise class at the "Y" and their DH's. And me.

It's Friday! Hope everyone makes a great day of it!

Another cold morning, 29°. Tomorrow it will start to warm a little, but rain. I'm shooting for the coast on Sunday.

MaryZ, I would like to get moved into the Cabin but not in freezing temps. It will happen in April.

MaryQ, The blackout curtains are for the Cabin. The MH has day and night shades and no way to use curtains.

Yes, I'm still working on the MH coverlet. I need to decide if I will use binding or cheat, sew right sides together and turn.

Yesterday the electrician came back with matching light switches for the Cabin. The dimmer switch works better than the Lutron brand.

Hope to see you sewing.

Good Morning Girls

Happy Friday!! It's actually above zero this morning and I just might get myself out of the house!!! I'm beginning to get cabin fever so since it's a nice sunny day and it may warm up to about 25* I think I will go on a little adventure. A local assisted living needs some things for bingo prizes and I just happen to have a few things they might like. (Left over craft fair items). Am trying to decide if I want to go as far as to Sam's club---last time I was there, they had the best Cosmic Crisp apples and I'm OUT!!

Judi....They just opened a Papa John's Pizza near me---in my little area there are 7 Pizza places! I don't think I've tried them myself yet, as much as I love pizza delivery for just me it gets pretty pricey. Was it good pizza? Pizza Hut used to be my favorite, but I'm kind of leaning towards Papa Murphy's. If you could just figure out a way to make it "carb free"

Lois... Even tho it's supposed to get in the 40's here next week, it's still way to early to put away the winter coats!!!

Maryz.... LOVE Bleu cheese!!! My dad used to mix bleu cheese and cream cheese and stuff celery with it!! SO GOOD.. Have you ever mixed french dressing with bleu cheese? That's really good too! Soft tissue nodule... hhhmmm maybe like a fatty cyst? Can they just go in with a needle for a biopsy? More hurry up and wait right?

Lyn.... I bet you are just so anxious to move into your new cabin. Can't wait to see it all fixed up.

Well, if I'm ever going to get out of the house I better get in gear. I'm torn between running to Sam's or coming right home. It would be cheaper if I came home, but then I wouldn't have any good apples for my "bednight" snack. That's what my kids used to call a bed time snack. Anyway... I'm outta here!!!

Wishing you all a Fabulous Friday!!

Lyn, the TX weather has been a little off this year. Hope it warms up for you at the coast.

Maryz, I remember when tastings were free. We have friends and family that are members of different wineries, so we get free tastings at those locations. Edgefield is a really nice winery. They also have cider.
If your ever in the area, you should give it a try. Hope Bill's thyroid issue is something that's easily manageable. Glad you are enjoying the NY beauty process. It will be a fabulous quilt. Jack and Wrigley are also getting groomed.

Lois, like Mary said, BJ is a restaurant here as well. They also have a brewery in the restaurant. They make beer, root beer, and cream soda that is really good.

We dropped the boys off to be groomed. They were not happy, but they will be clean and smell nice for a few days. We'll probably swing by the park on the way home as a reward. I need to wash dog quilts and vacuum while they are out. It's a very quiet house without them. I got the sheets washed and back on the bed yesterday, and the towels washed. Just a few thing on my list today.

Dinner will be baked potatoes with chili.

Have a lovely day.

Maryq, you might as well go to Sam's while your out and about. I'd give you some warm weather if I could. We'll be 79 today. Doors and windows will be open.

Good morning, have been on my walk already today. Best I go first thing in the morning or I may not go at all. Yesterday I went 1.75 miles and today 1.5. It really depends on what trail you're on how far you can go. I believe there's well over five miles of trail out where I have been going. I posted pictures in photos

Lori, our weather is warming up too.Not quite two seventies, but at least into the sixties. Yesterday I was able to keep the door open for about an hour.

Maryq we always went to straw hat growing up. But with the increase in prices, we now go to papa, john's and cook it ourself at home.

Lyn i love the coast, but still a bit cool there for me.

Maryz i need to look up what sinus arrhythmia is.You might be right. The white is pretty close.I think it will blend in well. I've decided it might be best if I wait till I have more blocks to put that block together and just see where in the quilt it might fit best. I will be in that particular shop on monday evening so I may ask some questions.

Chris, have the tree guts shown up yet?

Well, darn there goes the buzzer for my dryer.I got another load to put in it, so I better go.Deal with it before everything's all wrinkly. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Morning!

It's not good here. I have been fighting with a very sore tooth and it decided to flare very badly. So off earlier to a emergency dentist appointment. Then got the bad news that's it three teeth involved and I will lose all three. They are in the front, so I am now facing a ton of oral surgery and replacement. To the tune of the price of a new car! Came home and broke the news to Mr G and that his turnip needs to spit out a ton of money! So at the moment I'm not a happy camper. I need to pick up a antibiotic prescription and call the oral surgeon. Yes, teeth are important, but so is fabric or a new sewing machine! 😞

Thanks for my sounding board for my pity party,

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning. It's going to be a wonderful day today. We should see 60*. The man who is cutting up my trees was here promptly at 8am. My parents will be here when they get here and I have a roast in the crock pot.

I am looking at buying a new laptop with my income tax return. Dell is my favorite, I've been all over the Amazon and Dell websites and have almost but not quite narrowed it down. It's hard to push the buy it now button when you really have no clue what you are doing. But I plan to figure it out sometime soon. My state refund will hit my bank on Monday so I have until then.

Judi, I think paper plates are a wonderful idea, and a pizza is a great idea too. Papa Murphy's has an app that gives you discounts. I like that you can order and pay online and just go pick up your order without any hassle. They also have a pretty good crustless pizza.

Lois, I would hand you my grocery list but went yesterday after cleaning the parents house. Hope you do see that 50 degree day today. Sounds like soup weather at your house. Like MQ, I bought a Hamilton Beach Durathon iron and am really happy with it, did you find one you liked?

Maryz, your salad sounds wonderful, I bet it's devoured. Don't you wonder why they just don't do the scan they need to do without doing scans leading up to what they really need? It's like we are twins, I do like a raspberry vinaigrette but it's pretty sweet, I'm also a blue cheese fan and add blue cheese crumbles to my salad. I face timed Elliott this week, he blew raspberries at me and I coveted each one of them.

Lyn, a dimmer for the lights is a great idea. Hoping your cabin is move in ready very soon. What is left to be done? I vote for cheating on the coverlet. Much easier.

Maryq, I say just go to Sams and get that bednight snack and whatever other groceries you might need. That way you won't have to go out over the weekend. Papa Murphys has a crustless pizza that is low in carbs. I laughed when you said you had cabin fever. I think your cabin fever and Lyn's cabin fever have opposite meanings.

Lori, do you make your own chili? I've tried different canned chili and haven't found one I love. I do like a chili cheese dog once in a while but not often enough to make and freeze a batch of chili, it would take me forever to eat it. Give the boys an ear fluff for me, hope their tails wag the entire time you are walking.

Valerie, We also used to go to Straw Hat pizza when I was growing up. They had a mechanical horse you could ride and they would give you a penny to put in the slot to make it go. They also showed black and white films of the Three Stooges and Laurel and Hardy and my grandpa would laugh so loud people would look and embarass my 7 year old self. Sure wish I could go there now and watch those movies with him. The pictures of your walk were really nice.

Jana, consider yourself hugged with a sympathetic pat on the back.

As I look out the windows I see hunks of wood laying around the property, he seems to be making good progress. Not sure if he is cutting it all then will haul it away when he's done cutting or if he will cut and haul and cut and haul. Either way I am just overjoyed that it is happening and not costing me any money. I have offered that wood to a few people telling them if they want to cut it up they can have it but it seems they don't want it that badly. They would rather have it delivered and just pay the bill.

Guess I need to go have breakfast. My only plan is to figure out which laptop I want by Monday, It's not an easy decision.

Roast from the crock pot will be dinner for a few days, perhaps I will make a taco salad with it tomorrow.

You all have a fab day,
Chriss
