We're going to do it! We're making a run for it this morning. We'll spend one night somewhere in central OR and home tomorrow. Unless Mom Nature takes another whack at us somewhere along the line.
JUDI - I saw your evening post. I know sometimes if someone else is posting at the same time, you have to hit submit more than once. A few times, I've even had to hit it 3 or 4 times. Not sure that's what happened to you - especially twice in one day. That would be odd.
LORI - I love all your projects! Thanks for sharing the photos with us. How are you doing with your bridge? Our friends, Doyle & Susie play (but not with us!). I'm sorry your dad has been unable to return to his former level of health. Sad for you to watch, I'm sure. And I thought I did take enough projects with me this winter plus more! Ten. And I got them all done. And my actual purpose for going to the LQS here in Red Bluff was to find another hand project to start since we were going to be here for 3 days, but the shop was closing and had nothing in the way of handwork. That didn't stop me from buying some wonderful fabrics, though! I even went to the Goodwill and thought I might try crochet. My hands were bored. Lots of yarn there but no crochet hooks. I gave up and we played cribbage instead, watched a couple movies, cleaned house, and read books. But my hands were sad. Mopping and polishing and shuffling were an unsatisfactory substitute.
LYN - whoo hoo!!! What a day!! Is the threshold all done, too, or can that be finished later? Did you get some things moved in? I'm so excited for you!! You know we'll all be wanting to see pictures of your Quilting Cabin once you get it all arranged.
LOIS - congratulations to your whole family on your weight loss! Add it all up and you've lost an entire person! How did you do it? And I thought you just had a cold but sounds more serious. We've been hearing that the flu is raging throughout the country. A very hard year for the flu.
CHRISS - you are busy with your cousin, I know. I'm hoping the memorial and the cousin's visit goes well. You never know - you may enjoy your time them. If not, keep your eye on Sunday afternoon when you will have your house back to yourself again. $14.99 is ridiculous for a magazine! Especially when the mags are half what they used to be and only 6 issues/yr instead of 12.
VAL - I saw your quilt. Loverly!! And no, I wasn't quick enough to get Judi's cookies. Ken's Cronies got them all!

MQ - that pattern is a good one for when you need to whip up a quilt fast. And it can be a great seasonal project depending on what fabrics you choose. And great idea to make geese instead of HST's. Though using the HST square up ruler really cuts the work in half with them. I had that ruler for 2 years before I realized what it was actually for! Sometimes I astound myself with my density.

JANA - did your day go as planned yesterday? Any sewing? Which project? Bill get a lot of reminders for his appts at MD Anderson in Houston, too. People not showing up for appts must be a problem.
JUDI - it' me again. It must be time for another re-pack by now. Your launch date is only 5 days away! Have you decided yet on shoes? sewing? other?
So yesterday was a pretty quiet day here. Weather cleared and it was pleasant walking outside. We wanted to hit the highway but knew up in the pass it was still icy. So we got some house chores done, watched a weird comedy, Bad Grammas, with Florence Henderson, played cards, and not much else. This morning, we're making a run for it. Home is 600 miles away. We hope to make it to Eugene, halfway through OR. That will leave us 250 miles tomorrow. Will be so good to be home.
A deputy checked out our house yesterday afternoon and found everything secure and no signs of mischief. Apparently, when we called the Sheriff Dept's non-emergency number to report that we'd talked to a bond recovery agent about the squatter at Vicki's, that message went through several people and by the time the deputy heard it, it was 'bomb', not 'bond', so we got a very fast response. I guess they were playing the old telephone game from long ago slumber parties.
Tonite's supper is going to be eggs and hashbrowns I think. I hate to use our eggs because I know there might not be more for a while, but I guess I can't hoard them for too long.
Group hug!
