First, my computer wouldn't connect to internet. I had to set my tech on it. Now I have a big cat head appropriating my upper left keys. Any errors from that region of the keybord are not mine.
We are in Casa Grande, AZ. Weather is beautiful but we couldn't get into the state park we love among the saguaros so had to settle for an RV park. Rigs are packed in here so tightly that when I put out our awning to shade the doorway it was only inches from our neighbor's slide room. But people here are very friendly and that neighbor lives only about 150 miles south of us in Vancouver WA. And we talked to another fellow who lives only about 150 miles north of us in Vancouver, BC.
JUDI - You really had a great family day! So glad Val is off quarantine and able to enjoy a little life outside the house. I love being home but when I have to be home, I go a little stir crazy. And your Liam just gets better and better! What a keeper he is! Did you get the borders on your quilt top? Sometimes you have to hit submit two or even three times to get your post to 'go'.
LYN - Thanks for the hug!

CHRISS - our coffee also seems to have a different taste even though we make it the same every day. When we travel, water makes a huge difference, but even at home, some days it's different. Ugh! A crabfeed! My DFIL used to go with his cronies to the ocean in Feb every year over his birthday and go crabbing for a few days. They boiled the crabs, brought them home, and spread newspapers all over the table. They dumped the crabs onto the table, passed around nutcrackers, and cracked open cold beers. They thought they were having a good time!!

VALERIE - I thought of another thing to aid in comfort while riding in the car - a nursing stool. You know, those little stools designed for nursing moms where the front (toes) of the stool is higher than the back (heels). I had one but it broke in half when 'someone' dropped it. So Bill made me one and even carpeted it. The one he made is even better. They reduce the stress on your low back. And I also like quiet in the house during the daytime. Though, loving to read as much as I do quilting, I usually have an audio book playing.
JANA - if you are in need of rain/snow, then I hope you get a lot! But please, not on OUR parade! Not until next week, anyway.
TINA - I missed your comments on knee lifts. I've never heard of a machine you could start with a knee lift. But I do love my knee lift - once I got the hang of it - especially for applique and machine quilting. I quilt small projects on my machine. But all my knee lift does is lift the presser foot. And Scottie sends his thanks for the tibits you and Frankie slipped to him. Isn't your dr appt Feb 5? Curious to see what he says.
DIANE - sorry the man-flu hit your house, too. They say if it were men that had the babies, there would never be a second one! lol! ,
MQ - Great to see both your boys on the same day! How is Nolan liking college? He did go off to college, didn't he? Or was he waiting a semester to start? You know, Judi also has a Nolan who went off to college and it's easy for us invisibles to mix them up! I guess I'm with you - if I have to babysit a bread starter I probably shouldn't get it started. We just don't eat that much bread.
FLO - I hope your cold is minor. Thinking of your son and saying a prayer for his surgery on Wed.
LOIS - how is OWL coming along? Sorry your hubby is sick, too! The man-flu must be going around our forum. I'm telling my Bill to stay away from your Bill and all the other hubbies here. I don't need him sick right now.
Yesterday was a good run, though we had another issue at another rest stop. A big bus broke down just at the entrance to the oversized vehicle parking area. It was nearly blocked, but we were able to wiggle our way past it and drive along the front ends of all the parked semi's instead of the back ends. Then Bill backed our trailer into a parking spot. A big wrecker was trying to hook up the bus but by the time we finished lunch and left, the bus and wrecker were still there. The day before was the "police action" at a NM rest stop. I'm wondering what we will find today.
Today is my Lara's 53rd birthday. I sent her a card and a check but will be making a phone call in a while. She lives in Alexandria, VA but my DSIL will be retiring in May and they are already starting to pack! They plan to buy a large fifth-wheel/truck and go traveling. We will be spending tonite in Needles, CA. Our own time zone! Our fur-kids are still trying to adjust to changes in their mealtimes. They will keep trying to adjust for another month at least. They are both whiney-butts when it comes to their suppers.
Happy New Week! We hope to be HOME by Friday!
