Good morning,

Drat! I was just signing off and my post went *POOF*! None of my nerd's retrieval tricks worked this time so this is going to be abbreviated. Sorry - you will be missing some of my entertaining nuggets.

LOIS - What quilt did Sandi give you to quilt?
.
LORI - I just read that two of Jenny's kids are the majority investors/owners in MSQC - Alan and Sara,

DIANE - My quilt, Star Silhouette, is on the cover of a summer, 2022 issue of APQ magazine and Lois's quilt is on the cover of the current issue of APQ. Not sure which quilt you were asking about.

MARY Q - I'm betting your friend, Connie, is very appreciative of anything you take over to her. She must be lonely. Didn't her hubby pass away a few months ago? And yes, we still plan to leave here Sunday morning unless something unforeseen happens. The bed of the truck will be inspected and if they find that it's been damaged in the accident and the hitch can't go in, that will be a big bump in our road, but we think all will be OK. And the hitch is going in tomorrow.

TINA - your placemats are so cute! Completely your own design? Way to let your inner artist glow!

JUDI - Your sew-jo is back! Ken cleaned his dresser drawers! Vacation is soon! Your Wings beat my Kracken! You're feeling better! It's so good to be you!

VAL - So glad you are getting immersed in your sewing. How's the new machine working out? How are all your great-littles doing?

JANA - Happy Birthday to your little Emma. Seems like she was just born. Really? You didn't know Jenny Doan was Mormon? She and her DH, Ron, just arrived a short while ago in West Africa for a 2-yr humanitarian mission.

CHRISS - Gramma Thursday is only 2 days away! What are you going to make for the kids to accommodate both their diet preferences? When you walk does Moose go with you? I've walked almost every morning for 25 years, the last 17 with Lori from across my road and our dogs have always gone with us, though over the decades the dogs have changed. Snickers, Max, Duchess. Scottie is last dog standing. When I'm not there, Lori borrows her neighbor's dog to walk with her.

Yesterday with Amara was special, but then you knew that. You did, didn't you??? We had a new 8x10 photo of her with us that we took last Friday and she helped us frame it, replacing the one we took, framed, and left for her last year. When the photo was in the frame, she looked at it closely, then at us, smiled, and kissed it! Sniffle.

I got in some sewing time early yesterday morning and again in the late afternoon. I now have 12 rows of my quilt put together, and only 10 left to go. If everything lines up, it takes me 15 minutes to get one row together and attached to the growing quilt. It's going faster than I anticipated. And I'm pleased to report the subtle design is - so far - coming out! The blocks are 4-1/2". There are 6 different blocks, all same design, but it's all about color placement to bring out the design in the quilt. I'll post a photo when it's all together.

Happy Tuesday y'all! I think we'll be BBQ'ing chicken breasts tonite. We'll share one for supper and shred the other for chicken soup for a later meal.

Have a great Tuesday. Praying for all the fire victims.

Good day to all.

I had said I was going to post some pictures from seeing MaryZ Saturday, but when I look at them, what she posted of her class were much better than mine. I had forgotten to get a picture of us together and had run back in to quickly get one. I should have had someone take it other than me. I made the mistake of putting my head down so there wasn't a glare on my glasses, do you know how many extra chins that can make you look. So not posting that.

MaryZ, Are you sure you can't sneak Amara away?

Lori, I have been to MSQC twice with my DSIL who lives near KC, it's wonderful how they have expanded and provided jobs.

Jana, I've known for a long time that Jenny was a member of your church. I'm also familiar with the verbiage, having lived in the Salt Lake area for 7 yrs.

Chriss, Thursday's are going to be the best day of your week, and Friday mornings. But maybe sometimes it could be Wednesday evening and all day Thursday. You are becoming Elliott's Best Gramma.

The cabin is taped and drying. I hope it's drying, the guy left the windows open which was fine yesterday afternoon with 55Β° weather, but it's 31Β° right now.

I didn't get anything done on my list, so will try again today. We'll be here until the last week of January, to get the cabin finished.

May you all have a great day.
Lyn

I did get a good picture of MaryZ discussing the block with a student.

MaryQ, Didn't you say you have trouble with thimbles fitting? I just see that QIAD has, Thimtec Thimble Tape on sale. I didn't know there was such a thing. Might be worth trying.

Lyn, Jenny is such an inspiration. I loved the video you posted. Thank you.

Maryz, I was reading that about Missouri Star too. Maybe the information I was given was wrong. Sounds like a perfect day with Amara. I hit the wrong key and my post went bye bye too. This is a do over.

Judi, Bill has cousins in Ft. Meyers. I've never been down there, but he used to go and play golf in the winter with his cousins. I've seen video of Jenny Doan in Africa. She said it is a wonderful place. You should go.

Lois, you had a busy day.

I need to finish up my coffee and walk the boys. Wrigley will come with us today since Bill is golfing. I'm going to wait a bit, it's only 47 degrees and I prefer it warmer. I need to do some grocery shopping today.
We'll probably go out to lunch when Bill gets home.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning!

Well it seems that us members of the church keep popping up all over!

Today is my day with no running out, I can stay home! My Logan stopped over yesterday and helped arrange a couple of heavy boxes in the Batt Cave. His high school is near his house, but he drives out to the high school by my house for his ROTC training. So it's a quick jaunt up to help us. He's really good about helping. The Christmas elves were here yesterday too, and took off and stored my outdoor lights. They'll be back at the end of the year to put them up again. Slick!

A bit of laundry to do and a whole lot of bit to clean my bathroom. Then play time!

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning Girls

Caught up on the news... here I am.!! Definitely not going anyplace today.. Morning temp was 11 BELOW and high will only be 9 above!! I really should have gotten groceries the other day! Guess I'll wait until tomorrow when it gets up to 24*

Maryz.. Yes, Connie's DH passed away last spring/summer. She's just a little itty bitty thing and Katie and I worry that she's not eating well. Like me she hates to cook. I see her son bring groceries once in a while and Katie will shop for her now and then. I'm anxious to see your quilt top done! Must be fun to wrestle the growing quilt top in the camper! What a work of art it's going to be!

Lois... Sure sounds like you got a lot done yesterday! I need to do some of those same kind of things, but I don't think there's enough coffee in the world to make me want to all that today!

Judi... OH Let's go to MSQ!!! Viv and I have talked about going but it's just never worked out. I was going to go one year, and has reservations at a close by BNB, but they got a snow storm just as we were going to go. My Bff lives about an hour or so from there and she's tried to talk me into flying into Kansas City, MO and driving up from there. I'd have to take out a 2nd mortgage on my house tho If I went!!

Lyn... Thanks for sharing that picture!! I just think it was so great that you were able to show up there!! I'll check out the thimble... I did find one that kind of works at WM but I just can't get the hang of it. Garry was in the US Navy? Ask him is he remembers a ship USS CARON. It may have been after him time in the Navy. It was named for a distant cousin of mine. My Dad's Mom's maiden name was CARON.

Lori... 47*??? Up here, this time of year... that's a heat wave!!

Jana... I think one of neighbors had one of those companies come decorate their house this Christmas. What a great idea! I remember many years ago thinking that wouldn't that be great if somebody would come decorate for me... and look somebody took me up on my great idea!!

Ok, so even tho I told myself I shouldn't start another project, I did! I cut out all the pieces for Carrie Nation and started putting it together yesterday. Lots of little 1.5" 4 patches! EEKKK! Made lots of strip sets the Eleanor way and as I watched tv I put them together so they can get stitched together today. My little featherweight is on the dining room table and it's so fun to sew with and perfect those little pieces!

I'm off for more coffee and a little shine up in the kitchen. I should unload the dishwasher, but that's one of my least favorite chores, so I'll wait until I'm really in the mood!

Wishing you all a terrific Tuesday!

Good morning everyone 🌞
Maryz, my little stick kids are machine embroidery that I bought for under $5 for the set and I made Holly a table topper a few years back with the conversation hearts......well really it was for my table but she really liked it so I gave it to her and never got around to making me one. The placemats I'm keeping, best I can figure is they'll take me about 32 hours for all 6, most of the kids were almost 2 hours each of babysitting my embroidery machine and changing colors and fixing issues as they happened. You made me go awwww and get a little choked up with Amara smooching your pic πŸ’•πŸ’•
Lois, you have quite the busy day planned! I need to vacuum, dust and do laundry but I want to work on my placemats so I'm not sure what I'll do yet.
Judi, it's a great feeling to get all the extra stuff gone out of your house! It sure felt good to me anyway. Very lightening! I looked your quilt pattern up yesterday, I like it! Can hardly wait to see yours!
Lyn, I hope the sheetrock didn't get damp with the windows open overnight, it would've here. 🀞🀞 Great pic of MZ showing a student! They should use that for next years advertisement of the class. I hope your cabin gets finished so you're all moved in and it's ready to go when you get back! Where are you going at the end of January?
Lori, I hope it warms up quick for your walk.....the boys are waiting with leashes in mouth πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
Jana, grands are sure helpful ❀️ happy stay at home day!
Maryq, holy guacamole it's cold there! You're warm up temperature is colder than I like too, stay inside and stay warm! Have groceries delivered if you need to. Maybe you should go to MSQC in late Spring, early Summer or early Fall so it's better weather.....
Well I need to make a decision and just do it...clean and do laundry or play.....or maybe split the difference and do some of each.....I can do that better 😁 the vote is in....a little of each.
You all have a great day!
Prayers for all in need πŸ™
Tina

I must have changed my settings on YouTube, because I'm now getting notifications on some sites, MSQC is one. It popped up this morning, called Tuesday Newsday. Natalie announced that the BLOCK magazine is changing size to the traditional magazine rectangle. So just a heads up for you subscribers.
