Good morning.

I hope everyone is 'weathering' the deep freeze OK. We are cozy here inside our trailer. It's insulated for four seasons. But outside - BRRRRRR!!!

JANA - poor Ethan! I saw on the news that whooping cough is on the rise all over. I hope his abx kick in quickly. What new Lori Holt book did Sarah buy? QIAD had one on sale last week.

FLO - nope! I don't think it's bad at all to wish your DDIL doesn't find her zipper-needing something. But until she does, and as long as you're not busy, my hubby has a leather jacket with a broken zipper and I know right where it's at . . . .

LYN - which suburb of Austin were you in yesterday for Garry's retinologist's appt? We are parked in Hudson Bend, south of Cedar Park and just north of Lakeway at Sun Outdoors RV Resort. Hope his eyes are OK. And you are adjusting to your new glasses. And how is little Minnie. Scott's stools turn "soft serve" if he gets anything spicy or strongly flavored. I carry pumpkin with us when we travel just in case. Did you get that dry-waller lined up?

CHRISS - So nice to have a guy like your neighbor who just wants to help other people. Did you get your binding on your quilt yesterday? Elliott's a lucky little boy! Yes, sometimes we make chili dogs. We're not big hot dog fans, but sometimes you just gotta have one. I like to split the dog most, but not all the way through, spread it open and grill it. Then into the bun it goes, chili on top, with grilled onions, shredded cheddar, and sour cream. I think of chili as winter food, but chili dogs as summer food. Go figure.

TINA - happy birthday to your dad. I bet he loved his supper! Sorry your foot is still bugging you. Are you wearing shoes? My friend, Susie, is having terrible foot problems since her back surgery and is seeing a podiatrist. She had to get special shoes and then she got some special sox on-line. Expensive so she only bought one pair to start. But she said they are wonderful so she's ordering a second pair of sox. Valentine placemats will be cool. I saw our living/dining room yesterday on our security cameras. I put out my Valentine table topper and one and only V quilt before we left. It was fun to see that I'm all set for Valentine's at home. One of these days I want to make another V quilt so I have one for our downstairs family room, too.

MARY Q - I'd be going for that omelet, too! We don't have many Perkins in WA but I've been to them in other parts of the country. Kind of like a Denny's but better. And yes, hopefully we're all good now and will be able to leave here on time. Our hitch is enroute via truck and should be here Friday. It cost $3,300 with another $300 or so to install it. Add this to the $6,400 turbo we had to buy in CO and this has turned into a very expensive trip! Our savings is really taking a hit. At least insurance will reimburse us for the hitch. We learned yesterday from a friend back home that was in the insurance business that in Texas, anyway, AAA is only a broker for other insurances. They don't really have AAA insurance down here. This may be part of their problem. But now it's off our hands and we'll let our own insurance deal with them.

VALERIE - my sewing is also spread over two rooms - my sewing room with the machine, cutting table, fabric, etc. and across the hall is the long arm and under it are totes with backing fabrics, my wools, and batting. I would love to have one huge room for it all but this works well. When does your new machine arrive?

LORI - I hope Dad is doing better soon. I'm glad you are enjoying your line dancing. I had an entire binder full of choreographies but made the mistake of loaning it to a friend who never returned it. She is now deceased and it's her husband who is the hard core hoarder so I know our binder is gone forever.

JUDI - glad you got into your sewing room yesterday. That had to feel good! When do you leave for FL? And how long will you be gone? I'm getting excited for you!

IRISH - what's the floor report?

Yesterday was a quiet day in the trailer. I sewed most of the day and got more 4" blocks finished. Only 92 left to go! Sounds like a lot but when you compare it to the 347 this quilt takes, maybe it's not so many.
We babysit 3, sometimes 4 days a week. We have to have rest days. It's not the babysitting that tires us out so much as the 45 mi RT commute through awful traffic! We keep wishing for an RV park closer to the kids, but there just isn't one. Today, it's back to Amara's. We'll be taking our laundry with us today. Talk around the trailer this morning is maybe salad and nachos for supper.

Happy Hump Day! 🐪

Good morning!

We are 19 and barely will see 32 for the high! And I get to go out in that today. No more word on Ethan, it's too early to know more. No one else that's been exposed has shown any symptoms.

No real plans except for PT, as it's right in the middle of the day, which messes up things with a 2 hour chunk gone.

I don't remember which Lori Holt book Sarah got, but she found it for half off. It's a older book. And the templates are out of stock. Hence, borrowing mine!

Valerie - yes the machine has all those stitches, to which you can combine to make a endless amount more, but the embroidery patterns you buy are a whole different story! There are so many fun stitch outs! I have ones for baby Orestes I use, even a Baltimore Album quit. Even a set of cross stitch old world Santa's. One year I did neighbor gifts here for Christmas, a embroidered dish towel. And yes, thread is addictive! One thing I've learned about thread, is that you think you need a ton, a huge spool, of the color you need. Nope, the thread used really isn't as much as you think. When making a embroidery, I made a simple thread holder - a scrap of wood, and some finish nails. Spaced the nails to hold a spool of thread. Numbered on the wood, one, two, etc. Then when I pulled the thread for use in the embroidery, I knew where the program would call for it. Many times, the program reuses a color several times. It helps keeping thread order straight. Using the embroidery is so much fun!

The heater just turned on and soon the house will be warm.
Enjoy the day! Mine will be better today!

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning everyone 🌞
We didn't have sun yesterday, a very rare thing here. Our high today says 37° 🥶 no snow yet but we still have a chance.... I'm sure hoping we get it.
Maryz, yeppers I wear shoes, I couldn't walk at all without them, I have inserts in my shoes helping me.... some days I have to use a cane too.
I've noticed that there's not much Valentine's patterns that call my name.
Jana, I hope Ethan gets over the WC quickly, I used to get it every year until I started having grands and then I got the vaccine to be around them and haven't gotten it since, it did a number on me.
I did laundry yesterday and worked on 1 more placemats, I'm extremely slow. Today I'm hoping to get 2 more to the stage I have the 3 at..... I'm figuring out as I go and adding what I like. Easton is my biggest fan and he's really liking them, they remind me of his little stick people he used to draw for me when he was little -er.
I hope you all have a great day!
Prayers for all in need 🙏
Tina

Overcast and 34°.
Being concerned about the cold temps, I woke up during the night and looked at my weather app, which said 18°. So I got up and came out to the kitchen sink and turned it on, just to make sure pipe wasn't freezing, which it shouldn't cause I had the cabinet doors open. Yes, I'm a little paranoid about pipe freeze. Then I noticed our fancy temp gauge, sitting on the counter, that tells outside, inside temp, etc., it said outside temp was 33°. Big difference in temp, but I was sleepy and didn't care to figure it out. So, when I got up this morning and was making coffee, I looked at my weather app and it said 18°, but house said 34°. What??? Then I looked carefully at the app and the temp was for Wellington, TX.  I have several locations saved on that app and apparently I must have checked weather for Wellington before going to sleep.

Garry's eye appt was good. Dr said what the Optometrist saw was normal as people age. He does have cataracts, but doesn't want a referral for now.

MaryZ, We were just south of you, off of Ranch Road 620, on Medical Pkwy. It would have been tempting to pop up and visit, but they had dilated Garry's eyes and he could hardly see. We came straight home, driving past our friend's that didn't go to the coast. Garry just wanted to sit in his recliner, eyes closed. They were still blurry at bedtime.

My new glasses are definitely stronger, but I'm getting used to them.

The drywaller has sent me a bid, which I will look at this morning. Minnie seems better today. I'm drinking coffee and watching the birds at the feeders. There are two vibrant orange red Cardinals visiting along with many other types.

Dinner will be a new chicken recipe or Chili, or I may save Chili for tomorrow when its supposed to be very Chilly.
Have a great day.

Good morning Girls

Oh how nice to see the sun this morning!!

Maryz.... SO glad to hear that your truck is going to be taken care of! Are you all set for week 2 of your quilting class? I wonder how many folks will show up this week.

Lois... Must be ESP ! I had chile for supper last night too! I found a container of it in my freezer that I forgot I had. And I was just thinking about making another batch of chicken soup, some for supper and some for the freezer. I do need to get some ingredients at the grocery store, but that's not a today problem. I Love that quilt you are making and won't it be great to be able to quilt it yourself!!!

Jana....You are so right that thread is addictive. After I go my embroidery machine I bought a tub full (actually about 1/2 full of Sulky thread) for $50!! I'm still using it and I think it will last the rest of my lifetime. My brother does really well with the Brothread or Simthread from Amazon and I watch for it when it's on sale. It falls into that category .... "If I like something, I like a LOT of it" I found a neat 9 drawer thingee at Target (online only) so it's all pretty organized.

Valerie... Oh my gosh, you have all those hoops!! Color me green!! If I won the lottery I think I'd upgrade to at least a 5x7. I never thought I'd have so much fun with my embroidery machine. I thought I'd just use it for making labels for my quilts but there are just so many fun things! Even with all the designs that came on your machine, there's still so many designs out there. I mean, who knew you could make lace earrings on the embroidery machine.

Tina... Man it's cold down there!! Who would guess it would get that cold in southern New Mexico! You might have to get yourself some flannel sheets!

Lyn... Not much you can do after getting your eyes dilated! Man it's cold down there!!! If you approve the bid for the dry wall, do you suppose you'll be able to get it done quickly? Has the electrician started yet? I'm guessing that comes before walls!

Have done nothing this morning so far.. I keep clicking over to the news about the huge fire in California, near LA. I'll have to get out my map to make sure none of you CA gals are in that area! I MUST run to town today and get to the Post Office. By the way, The PO will be closed tomorrow and there will be no mail, just an FYI. Day of remembrance for Jimmy Carter.

Oh oh... need more coffee!!
Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday!

Good morning ladies I thought I posted this morning and I remember hitting submit but my post is nowhere so I guess maybe it went into cyberspace somewhere I got up got dressed to the dishes and headed to Costco. I got there 15 minutes before they open and got a parking spot right by the door Win-win renewed my membership got my meat. They have a really good buys on organic chicken so I bought that and got my daughter some things she had on her list and some things Ken had on his list and walked out of their broke, not really, but you do spend a lot at Costco. I stock up my pantry my freezer and I did look at some jeans and some tops, but the tops were not my style at all and all were V-neck somewhere off the shoulder style and I don’t do any of those so didn’t buy any shirts and I came home and put all the meat in the freezer re-wrapped everything I have a few things to take down to the basement pantry, and Then I’m gonna put a pot of stew on in the Insta pot for Ken cause that’s what he requested. Hope y’all having a great day.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ethan update it's not Whooping cough! Tests came back negative and negative for a whole bunch of other possibilities. The Dr is baffled. Ethan goes back on Friday to check for improvement. The Dr doubled the asthma inhaler and Ethan is taking Mucinex. They don't make cough syrup anymore, how stupid!
