Good morning,
It's a wee bit early for everyone but I got really good sleep so I'm up.
It's 55⁰ out but we are going up to 77⁰ my grands are coming today to spend the day with us I can't wait now that they are adults you don't get to see them that often they are both off from work and Olivia needs to work her magic on my hair then they will both help out pop with his new tablet it should bee a fun day.
But before all that happens Bill has to go to the chiropractor for an adjustment.
And I have to call grace company and order my little rebel machine so it will be a busy day.
Everything is done in the house along with the wash so we can have a nice day with them.
I hope Everyone will have a nice day.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Its been raining and should be a nice day if you are ducks. The schools here have been closed for the day. Should get very interesting later today. I'm trying to work on ufo's and the more I do, the more I find to do.
Hubby is doing well with treatment so far. He will have another on Weds. Fingers crossed and prayers are welcomed.
Have a safe day

Another 80s day here,, I had a bad night with lots of pain,,might have even started the thread here at 3 am. ,I will head to the surgeon office in a few but first coffee and toast....I have more questions now than before...first off I had to take all my rings off( I wear a few) including my saphire engagement ring that Ken bought for me...they tell me i have to take my wedding band off...but I can not get it off so I will ask that it can be taped onto my finger which they did for my previous surgeries. It will come off with some elbow grease. ..Ken said not to worry we will still be married and he will put it back on again when I am done but we shall see what they say today...Its funny the closer I get the more little things become big things,,,,,
I have been trying to get the house in order and making notes for Ken to be on his own...he will be fine as DD will make sure he is fed and busy,,,He can cook some, but trust me you wouldnt want an invite to dinner,,,
No sewing here I did take a few stitches on the embroidery,,and found that I want to make a New York Beauty quilt. It has been on my bucket list so I have been watching a few videos and found a book in my stash,,,It might be another project for me to try after rehab and therapy...
Well I hope you all are doing good,
Diane I am glad your hubby is doing better and enjoy your rain we need it here pretty bad,,,so when you are done send it up/////
Lois enjoy your day with your grands,,,we dont see our grown up grands very much,,,

Good morning
We are camping at the ocean. Can’t see the water from our campsite. Lots of trees and brush covering a tall berm of sand which acts as a wind break. It’s a walk to the beach, but that’s OK. We can hear the surf and it allows me to sleep.
Lois, exciting to order your new machine finally. You’ve been patient. And enjoy those grandkids. Our boys are both always so busy that we only see them about three times a year.
Diane, glad Joe seems to be doing well and I pray he continues to do so
Judi, I’m sure you’ve written all your questions down that you want to ask the doctor. Anxious to hear how this appointment goes and you know I have always wanted to do a New York beauty, too. Foundation paper pieced. We could be NY Beauty Buddies! I’m looking at a couple of books and discussing it with Santa
Today we will drive into Grayland and maybe Westport just to kick around a little. But other than that it’s going to be a relaxing day. I might get out my sewing machine or I might just sit and read. I’m waiting to see which direction the spirit moves me, Weather is mid 60s and should be clear today but rainy tomorrow. Dinner might be grilled chicken and pasta tonight or spaghetti. I will let Bill decide. We usually cook on our outdoor stove and today will be a good day so grilling today is a smart play. Tomorrow will be rainy and will probably cook inside.
Wishing everyone a Marvy Monday

Good morning!
Lois – yay for a good night’s sleep. How exciting to have the grandkids over – and you are so right. Once they’re grown up, it’s more difficult to see them. Good luck with ordering your new machine. It’s all go at your house today!
Diane – that’s great news about how well Joe is doing. Sure hope at least the ducks enjoy the rain.
Judi – I’m sorry you’re in so much pain. I’ll be sure to turn down any dinner invitations we get from Ken. I hope the surgeon can allay any lingering fears you’re having.
Maryz – how lovely to be near the ocean. There is nothing like the sound of the waves lulling you to sleep. I agree with your smart choice to grill outside today.
We got home from Alamosa around noon yesterday. Had a lovely time visiting with my youngest stepdaughter and her family. They have a new puppy – Kimber (all their dogs are named after guns). Twelve weeks old and all needle teeth and tongue. She is SO cute! She has fur like a kitten. Today is Costco and then home to sew. Dinner will be soup made from lots of leftovers. Have a glorious day! xoxo Sharona

Re: Monday September 16, 2024
Good morning ladies, I am back! My Morning Spin quilt is completed and at the long armer. I have started the Ghost quilt. Still working on classes but dwindling them down. Trying to get the house child safe. Was able to find a playpen at a garage sale for Xavier to sleep in, JoJo has his bed but now working on where is Lina going to sleep. She doesn't do well in the big bed, so maybe a sleeping bag on a foam on the floor? DD and DSIL will sleep in the RV.
Our weather has cooled off but looks like next week temps will be back up. I am so looking forward to fall.
I did talk to a higher up at the VA, explained my point as calmly as I could. He said they asked for an accounting because of the >$10,000 check they sent just a few days before he passed. So I calmly explained to him that was another VA mess up as it took them a full year (technically they have 30 days) almost to the day to adjust his income vs outflow totals. The money was funds he should have been getting all year. So he is sending me a letter starting the account is closed and no accounting is needed.
Chriss have you looked at the Spirit of Halloween shop online? Maybe even Amazon?
I am continuing to work on the health issues. I am going to the eye dr today. Hoping I don't need cataract surgery. I know I have them but they have been stable. But now, I have difficulty focusing in the morning and harder to see at night. The 27th I will have a pulmonary function test and the 3rd an echocardiogram.
2 1/2 months left of this night shift stuff. Counting the days, I am so done. Have been trying to figure out a way to quit sooner!
Well I need to get in the shower and a few things down before the doctor, Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Everyone!
Happy Monday to you all! Another HOT one on schedule for today. I have a couple errands to run , then it will be home and back into the AC!!
Lois.... Did you decide to ahead and order the machine for your frame!!??? How cool is that! How long with it take to get it? Will somebody come and set it up for you. Would love to see a picture of it once you get it all set up!
Diane..... I'll take any of the spare rain you have! It's starting to get pretty dry here. SO glad to hear Joe is doing so well with treatments. Let's hope it kicks cancers butt!!!
Judi.... Will a little lotion get your ring off? If you wear pierced earrings, don't forget to leave those at home too! Gosh this surgery came up fast! Can Ken give us an update after surgery is all done.. Please let him know it's ok to text me and I'll spread the word!!
Maryz... I looked all over Pinterest yesterday for NY quilt patterns. There are a ton of them but unfortunately, I couldn't find any free one. Lots on Etsy tho that you can download for about $3.50 which isn't bad unless you want a lot of different patterns.
Sharon... I had to look up where Alamosa is!! It's way down there!!! In the mountains, yes? What kind of puppy did they get? I kind of miss having a dog around, we always had a black lab when the kids were little. In my book, labs are the best, but my Shawn has an English Springer and she is a hoot!! I offer to baby sit her all the time!!
Valerie..... Good to see you back!!! So it sounds like the VA is all done now, and you won't have to argue with them anymore? They didn't ask for the money back I hope!!! If you have to have cataract surgery.... not to worry it's easy peasy!!! Seems like it's just one of those things that we all have to go through as time. After you are done with night shift will you still be working, but just day shift? Have you picked a "retire by" date?
I suppose I better get going this morning, it's 9:30 already and I need to run to the bank and then I'm going to check out another Flooring store to see if I can find a better option for the floor in my sewing room. I put down LVP in 2022, but since I roll back and forth on it--which is a no no with LVP, it needs to be fixed already. When I get home it's a toss up if I decide to sit and sew a bit or get my guest bathroom ready to paint. I think my DDIL Kris offered to come help me paint on Friday. Won't take long, as I hate to use up her whole day off!
For now... I wish you all a Marvelous Monday!

Breezy morning in Hays.
MaryQ, The utility trailer is enclosed and 14', with a drop down back door and a large side door. It was bought to carry a hot air balloon and a Harley. Never bought my balloon, boats won. The tractor won't fit. As for driving it to Texas...
NO way. Years ago Garry drove a tractor from his folks house to their Triple Creek farm about 15 miles or so, and I followed him for over 2 hours.
Chriss, Look on Amazon for piglet, I saw several. Maddox high fived ya back.
Valerie, I have bought a twin blow up mattress for kids to sleep on. So easy with little motor that comes with, to blow up or reverse and de-flat. Glad to hear the kids are coming for a visit. Hope VA follows thru quickly.
Diane, Thanks for your update!
Lois, The Rebel looks like a nice machine, enjoy!!
MaryZ, Enjoy your RR. I wish we just went somewhere like that, but we are always on a mission heading to this place or that.
I need to finish my coffee and now that it's 9 a.m. in Colorado, I can call and pay the house insurance bill. Then I'm headed to Amanda's. She has a dresser that I bought her in high school and she wants to paint it. We might do that today. My little girl will be 47 on the 18th, where did the time go?!!?
Have a great day.
Lyn

Re: Monday September 16, 2024
Good morning!
It's thunderstorm weather here, all week long. And cool too. So enjo the last of the hot temperatures.
It should be a quiet, do whatever strikes our fancy here today. We'll move more of the office out of my bedroom. It's the stuff that will put Mr Grumpy's computer out of service for a time. And yes, everything is measured and drawn on his CAD system. CAD - computer aided drawing. I do mean everything! Walls, furniture, windows, chairs, lamps, electrical outlets, closet doors, regular doors, lamps, bathroom vanities, plumbing, kitchen island,, cabinets, even my Christmas tree! He has what are called layers in the cad system, that he can overlay different objects to move things around. So when I tell him I have a hair brained idea 9n how I want to rearrange stuff, he does it first in CAD to see if it's feasible. Many times, he's told, make it work! LOL!
Maryq - LVT is very thin. Look at the more commercial grades of that type of flooring. My new here in the main floor is Mannington Restoration and it's about 9 mil thick. Daniel and the guy who did my floor, Tyson, said to get the thicker floor for better wear. Also look for a thicker wear layer. I did a lot of hunting to find what I wanted. Beware, sheet vinyl, or what is commonly referred to as linoleum by us older people, also doesn't take rolling chairs well. Try adding a clear office chair mat on the floor to help protect the main floor. Office mats are available for hard floors as well as rugs. We have them here in the office for Mr G.
Well, Mr G is fussing for the timing of his breakfast. I have timing issues of meds before and after food. And he's a stickler for that timing! At times, drives me bonkers! Oh well.......
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Good morning everyone
I'm at Dad's doing laundry and Frankie is cleaning his porch, it's bad. Dad's been saying he wanted to clean it since around March or April so he's supervising Frankie. I laugh because Dad is telling Frankie if it looks like trash throw it but Frankie still asks him on everything.
Frankie and me talked yesterday and we think we just need to come over once or twice a week and go through stored stuff while Dad can advise instead of it being left to us because nobody else will do it after Dad is gone...... we know they'll just take good stuff and leave the garbage for us to get rid of, my name is on a lot of Dad's stuff, his mobile home for 1.
Joan, so good to see you
I'm so very sorry about you losing your son
sending you hugs 🫂
Chriss, that's how I know if we'll be getting good rains ; the tarantulas. They creep me out but they're cool to watch moving before the rains. Have you checked on ebay or the Disney site for a piglet onesie? I have a panel I think, I'll check when I get home, if you want it just say the word and I'll send it. I just gotta make sure I still have it
Judi, I sure hope your Dr has the answers for you
Lyn, safe travels. That'll be so nice to have all your stuff in Texas, I sure hope it all works out getting it there and I like the plan you came up with, sounds so much better than all that extra driving.
Maryq, glad you got your little table, I vote for a soft teal.
Valerie, when will you retire? I hope your retire date comes soon for you.
Lois, awesome that you are ordering your rebel machine!
Sharon, what kind of puppy does your stepdaughter have? She sounds adorable.
Maryz, sounds like a quiet enjoyable trip you're having, I think you need it after Alaska and covid.
Diane, continued prayers
Jana, send me some rain please. I have alarms on my phone for my meds and my dogs, I forget otherwise and that's bad bad.
Well it's time to fold another load and put them away..... some of these clothes today were dirty clothes put in baskets with clean clothes so I'm having to wash them all....I immediately fold or hang and put away.... it's just what I do
I hope you all have a great day!
Tina
