Good morning Sunny and 80 again,,,I see the trees have a tinge of color in them but it is still warm...I will change sheets and do laundry today, Ken will probably head to Toledo to take Nolan back to school and put together his bed loft...I dont know if I will go or not. I did get to my sisters house , we went to put the jet sky in my sisters barn. but she wasnt home...so Ken knows where the keys are. then we went to Sophias volleyball game a surprise since DD forgot to tell me the schedule..I now have it but will maybe only get to 1 or 2 more games before the surgery, I will miss most of the season. But Rykers hockey is starting up and if its not to far away I will get to see his games after i recover...
Tomorrow I see the surgeon for the final visit and signing of the papers...I still have a few questions so I will get them answered...
I hope you all have a great day and Maryz safe travels and Lyn too if your traveling.....
Tina I hope you rest today yesterday was way too much for you to do...Thank you for all the kind words about the Carrie nation quilt..I am keeping it for my own...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning,

JUDI - You got in a lot of activities yesterday. Glad you were able to catch Sophia's game and will get to see most of Ryker's. Just one more appt. I hope the answers to your last few questions help to ease your mind. If you go with Ken to take Nolan back to college, is there much walking or stairs?

TINA - you did too much for one day. You are going to wind up in the hospital yourself if you don't slow down. I know it had to be done, but either call in more troops, spread it out over more days, have Dad hire it done, or, if he was happy in his house, let it be. I worry you will be sick again. That's the nurse in me. The daughter in me also tried to bring my dad's living space up to my standards. He resented that so I compromised and half-cleaned.

IRISH - sorry for your neighbor's loss, but hopefully the belief that her DD is in heaven, free of all pain, will bring her some comfort. Also sorry your craft fair has been cancelled. I love craft fairs. Both sewing for them and shopping at them. We were going to get new living room furniture this summer, too. Ours is 24 years old and a bit saggy. But we spent our money on Alaska instead. So maybe next year . .

CHRISS - you are in luck! I am very patient. You can take as long to clean our garage as you like. And more luck! We have a little narrow stairway up to our garage loft and rafters. No ladders needed! Glad Buster pooped and made you all happy!

JANA - I hope you get the office squared away purrfectly, new loveseat and all, soon. And all the cleaning. Sometimes I have fantasies about all the chores being done with not a thing left to do. Does that ever happen??

LOIS - sorry the quilt show wasn't all it could be, but happy you found fabric. And ordered your new machine! I need to look it up, I guess. A Rebel, you say?

LYN - I know you are enjoying your time in Hays. Hope the weather gods are smiling when you drive west to CO next week.

Last night we got a text that a new generation has been started in my family. My nephew/godson in Alaska became a great-grandfather yesterday. Which makes my brother, Gene, a great great grandfather. And we're not going to talk about what it makes me! A little girl and her name is Delhi's Rae Marie. Also, our friends had twin grandbabies the day before named Steely Reine and Jovi Cline. We're not sure if they are boys, girls, or a mixture. This makes 5 new babies this week for us with Chriss's Elliott leading the parade. I posted a photo of my chiropractor and his family with the baby quilt I made them.

We are leaving for 1 week of camping about noon today. We're going to watch at least most of the Seahawk game before we leave since we can't check into our campsite until 2:30. I just have some perishable food to pack into the fridge but otherwise, we're ready to roll as soon as we hitch up. It was chilly and rainy yesterday afternooon so we stayed inside, built a fire in the woodstove, and settled in for the evening. The weather is turning early this year. I'm not ready for fall. I'm not done with summer yet.

Not sure what supper will be tonite - probably a one pot Rice/Roni dish with canned chicken and peas. Our usual fare first night out in the trailer.

Blessings! And go Hawks!

Clear sky, sunny day in Hays.

Judi, Sounds like you have everything ready for your big event. It's going to go better than you can possibly imagine.

Chriss, I'm glad Elliott's a little pooper. You need a break from all that cleaning. Hope you see Elliott this week.

Tina, WOW y'all were cleaning bees. Was Dad there, or did I miss something happening to Dad?

Maddox team won the soccer game 1 to 0. So fun to watch. After lunch we went to a park, Maddox always enjoys playing and saw a friend or 2. Then we decided to take a rest break, before going out to dinner. I came back to the MH.

As I was driving back to the MH an idea suddenly popped into my head. Instead of going to Colorado when we leave, we could go straight to the Texas house from here. It's straight south about 640 miles. We could leave the MH there and drive back up to Colorado in the Jeep. Get my sewing room stuff and some other things loaded in our utility trailer, find someone to haul our tractor and go back to Texas house. This would save driving the MH 1,300 miles, which is the distance to Colorado then down to TX house.

The kids and I are going to church this morning, then not sure what trouble we'll find.

Have a blessed day.
Lyn

Good morning!

It too, is a beautiful day here. Sunny and bright and very little haze from neighboring states and their wildfires. Ethan rode his bike all around with no problem breathing. He deals with asthma and the smoke bothers that.

Church is in a bit. We're singing some of the new hymns that are being added to the Hymn book. I've been practicing and should do fine. Oh, no wedding rings escapades either. I not wearing them, as they are to big. I'll get them resized at a later date.

We got some of the office moved. Left is a wooden file cabinet and that ding dang desk. Mr G was fussing over where to temporarily plug in all the electronic charger cords for his stuff. Took me 30 seconds and had that solved. He fussed around here for a hour trying to solve it himself.

Andrew got the little truck yesterday. Haven't heard how he did learning to drive a stick.

I thought I bought at Costco, 2 sets of twin sheets for the trundle bed. I have searched everywhere in this house and they are nowhere to be found. Must be, you know what thought got, and I didn't. Tomorrow I try those sheets again!

Daniel has started his Christmas stash here for Karlie. She's a huge snoop! Karlie saw some penguin Christmas decorations at Costco and texted her dad that she really really had to have them. She went on and on at how cute they are. So Daniel got them and they are hiding here now.

Tina - those spiders are terrible! I won't share the picture Daniel took of the one he evicted from my garage last week. Let's just say, it's as big as Daniel's hand! It scurried off outside and Daniel threatened to get his shotgun to kill it! It was a utah type wolf spider, as big as a tarantula, but wasn't one.. I called our pest control company!

Time to get dressed, sewing after Church! Safe travels for all,,

Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Friends

Happy HOT Sunday!! I was hoping that now that it's the middle of September, that the weather would start to cool a little.. No such luck. Mid 80's today and all the week ahead! Guess I'll just stay in with the AC on and sew all week!!

Judi... Sounds like you are good-to-go except for that last visit to the surgeon. How long will you be in the hospital before you go to re-hab? They are quick pretty quick to get a person out of the hospital these days--if you can pee and poo they have you out the door.

Maryz... Very interesting names for the grand babies! I guess I'm a little old fashioned, but all I can think of is an 80 year old man named "Steely" I even struggled with naming my Shawn as that was not very common in the 70's. Now he is one of many, tho I'd have preferred to spell it the proper way "Sean"---he is glad his dad won that disagreement. Jen would have been Katherine Cecelia and Kacie for short---she prefers Jen!! Hope you guys have a great trip this week, with nice cool weather!

Lyn... That does make much more sense to head straight to Texas... save a lot of gas/mileage on the MH. How big is the utility trailer? Would the tractor fit inside? Or be too heavy? I know certain kind of trailers can only carry so much weight. HHmmmmm who could we get to drive that tractor to Texas?  I would, but I'm pretty busy!

Jana.... I can kind of picture The Engineer trying to figure out where everything should go. Did he have a scale drawing of the room and all the furniture pieces? That would be something my Dad would do too. When I was at Hobby Lobby the other day they were sure busy getting all the Christmas stuff out! I do so love Christmas decor, but have too much already!! I did buy some Christmas cards tho--something new for this year.

Chriss.... Oh what wonderful news! The baby pooped!! Is Gloria nursing? My Jen was always constipated as baby, as she was a bottle baby --- it helped to put a little bit of Karo syrup in her formula. I sure hope you get to go see that little one soon! Did you find any fun stuff in those 4 tote boxes? I have a storage area above my garage and I have NO idea what's up there other than Christmas decorations. There's a ladder up to it, but no way am I climbing it!

Irish.... bummer that your craft show was canceled!!! I suppose you had stuff already to go too! Did the Pres. give a reason why he decided to cancel it on his own? I have quite a few things ready to go for mine, but keep thinking of other things I could do. Are you able to ditch the oxygen tank? When my Dad had to have one, he made himself a little carry thing it, and I still have it!

Tina... Oh my Gosh... you got all that done at Dad's!! I missed it... what prompted the "overhaul" at Dad's! Mostly definitely you need a break... take it easy!!

Missed you all yesterday. I was up and out to go to a memorial service. A gal that lived kiddy-corner across the street from me passed away unexpectedly on the 5th. I didn't know her really well, but we chatted from time to time. 79 yo. Kind of makes you think about stuff and how NOT important the little stuff is. Don't sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff. I ran a couple errands after that. When Peggy and I went to the garage sale, there was a darling little sewing machine cabinet the gal had painted ---a perfect place to set my Featherweight. I debated and wrestled with it---like where am I going to put it!! I decided to go for it and as luck would have it.. everything was 50% off! So I got a good deal! I'm going to probably repaint it as right now it's a sage green color and I'd prefer either white, pale grey or pale teal. But it's too hot to worry about it now. Then I decided to do a few house chores and to go at them with the attitude that "this is fun". Part of my "cherish every day" theory.

So I will leave you with this.... Cherish every day!!!!

PS... I'm going to post some pictures of a few quilts Viv did for me.. They are all done now!

Hello everyone ist's been awhile since I've posted here, but I do read from time to time. I came here today because I've seen that Judi is going to have knee replacement surgery. I had my left knee done on April 30th. I got what they call a smart knee. It's a small extention to the knee that tracks how your knee is doing and how many steps your taking, degree of motion your getting and a few other things. That way if somethig is going wrong I can call my doctor he can look at the information on his end and tell me if I need to come in or not. It also tell me what exercises I need to do daily for the first 8 weeks, plus I went to physical therapy. I just had a one day stay in the hospital. My doctor does do some that you go home the same day.The first two weeks are the hardest.

Hope all of you are enjoying what is left of this summer. Were in a drough here in NW Indiana. No rain in sight until the end of the month. Grrr.

I haven't been sewing wallets much since I lost my oldest son just over a year ago from a pulminary embolisium. He was just 53 years young and was a paramedic working in ER for 15 years, 5 years prior was on the ambulance.

Prayers to all that can use some and hope everyone enjoys there Sunday

Good morning. Happy Sunday. it's going to be a beautiful day today.

Today I am hoping to get the Christmas stuff down and start going through it. Then, I will have gone through everything in the garage. But there is still work to do. I need to take down some shelving that if you don't bend over just right you will get a headache. And I want a specific area to plug in my weed eater chargers. That garage will be organized. I think dad wants to help me with the demolition.

Seems like Covid is on a rampage in our county. I'm staying home from church tonight as people have already mentioned that they have it. And I don't want their cooties.

My son has me looking for a piglet costume or onesie for the baby. Piglet seems not to be as popular as the other Winnie the Pooh characters. I ordered a pink onesie and will add some black stripes. My son said I get bonus points if there is a cap with ears. I do like my bonus points. I will also check out the Halloween store in town, perhaps I can find something there.

Judi, I think Ken is a sweetie for wanting to hire someone to clean before you get home. Perhaps that person can do the heavy cleaning until you are able to really get in there and tackle those jobs.

O'Dorothy, I would much rather clean out other peoples stuff, but I have a huge job here. Perhaps I will make it to your place and we can tackle that shed in a few years.

Tina, you were sure busy at dad's yesterday, that's a lot of laundry. Glad everyone was able to pitch in and help out. Is he doing ok or just not keeping up?

Maryz, I hope you have an uneventful camping trip. I'm ready to leave summer in the dust and start on fall. Congrats on the new babies. I think a loft for garage storage is cool, but then more things would be stored. As it is I am down to about 5 totes for Richard and maybe twice that for Marilyn. If I have a shelf big enough for only a certain number of totes I will be good. So, no loft for me.

Lyn, you are brilliant. Great idea to put everything in Texas. High five to Maddox for a winning game.

Jana, wish were were closer. I had least three sets of twin sheets that were on Jerry's hospital bed I just took them to the thrift store yesterday. Drat. Yuck on the spider. I do love when the tarantulas come out here, it means rain is on it's way.

Maryq, yay for you, don't you love when you find just the right thing and for just the right cost. Exciting the FW will have a new place to rest. I have two different desks in my sewing room for machines. I'd like another one but need to figure out what I am doing in there first.
It will be my last room to be done. I didn't find anything fun in the totes. I mostly shook my head and wondered why it was all there. Marilyn no longer has every math paper, spelling test or scrap piece of paper that she used to have, but she does have some. I will climb a ladder but won't lift a heavy tote over my head, There are people for that.

Joan, it's good to see you. Sounds like you are part bionic woman. Amazing what doctors can do. I'm sorry for the loss of your son, I was unaware.

Yesterday I made a tuna salad and sent it and a half a watermelon home with my dad. I think today I will make grandma's zucchini torte. Dinner will probably be leftover bbq chicken and zucchini torte, yum.

And since it's after 10am I believe I will go have some breakfast. You all have a wonderful day, I'll be in the garage.
Chriss

Joan so glad to hear from you I always love it when the missing show up///My sincere condolances on the loss of your son. I know that had to be so hard,
I was encouraged by your knee replacement success that is interesting about the "smart knee' I will ask my Dr about it tomorrow, I am still scared of the whole thing but I know I will be better off being able to walk maybe like a normal person...I will spend one night in the hospital and go to rehab for 2 weeks for therapy and to relieve Ken of the job of taking care of me. He is very willing but I took care of him through 2 knee s and I know how hard it is,,,come back and chat with us often,,,xxxooo

Hi everyone 🤗
It was Maria's birthday today and recovery day for all of us LOL
Dad just hasn't been able to keep up. After I hurt my leg about 2 years ago I wasn't able to help him and for about a year I couldn't even manage his steps up into his house so I didn't realize how bad it was. I don't know if you all remember but it was around the same time as I got COVID I think, he said he hired someone to clean his house but she ended up not going and there was never a reschedule. Anyway it's a lot better now but we still have a spare bedroom to clean and Dad's closet. He's on board with it and wants it done and I asked him if he could sit and give us his input of what goes. I used to clean for Mom for years and Dad is fine with it. He tried to pay me but I told him no, I'm not doing it to get paid, I'm doing it because he can't live in those conditions. He knows we're all (Frankie , Holly, Jazmyne, Easton, Preston and me) just doing it because we all care about him and love him.
Chriss, he reminded me of your Jerry stories...... I'm finding broken coffee makers saved 🤣😂 I laughed when I found some and you and Jerry popped into my head.
I am still trying to talk Dad into getting home healthcare in even once a week 🤞 maybe he will 🙏
He drove today 😭 I found out about it after, hours after. He's not even steady walking. I know that as we get older we can't do everything we used to but after going through it with my mom already I've come to the conclusion that driving must be the hardest thing for some people to give up. I also know that no Dr here will take it away, it has to be the State Police by catching them doing something wrong multiple times, I personally don't understand that myself.
I need to get ready for bed, didn't sleep well last night.
I'll try to get caught back up tomorrow, just saw some questions and thought I'd jot down what I know.
Thank you all ❤️
Hoping you all have a good night.
Tina
