Good morning,

Today we are going up to 61⁰ we are at 39 right now.
Today is our cleaning day so thats what will be doing.
Yesterday I got my cutting table cleaned off and put fabric in a bag to be brought upstairs and put away I want to go through some of it and get rid of what I don't want.
Also dusted and vaccuum in there plus cleaned out my machine and changed the needle so now I feel much better.
After I'm done cleaning I had purchased a panel it's called realtree bass fishing and I would like to make this For Bill for Father's day
He can take it up to the fishing cabin when they go up.

Becca you are real busy today enjoy the sunshine.

Today's dinner will be crab legs for me and catfish nuggets for Bill and I will think of a side later.

Everyone have a fun day.
Prayers go out to all.

Good morning,

BECCA - I do love the way you started our thread - "Go out and do kind deeds for others". You are really putting in the muscle with your gardening. What does the church do with the veggies? Give them away to parishioners, donate to food bank, or use them for parish suppers? I think it's a wonderful idea no matter what you do! Prayers for your little Brodee. He has had a rough journey.

LOIS - happy cleaning day! I think we've got our cleaning done here for the week. Is your sewing room upstairs in your house, but your cutting table is downstairs? I'm trying to picture your set-up.

JANA - sorry for the little breakdown on your LA. Can really slow things down! I'm surprised that your dealer gave you the answer it did when obviously, it could be repaired since you found the part yourself.
But we've found the same thing with our car dealerships, too. They want to sell you the entire unit. But so wonderful that you were able to jury-rig it to get enough bobbins filled to finish your project. We have a Nolting and our bobbin winder is a separate free-standing gadget that came with our machine. But in a pinch I could probably wind them on my Bernie. I have two Bernies and one uses M sized bobbins and the other regular bobbins.

VAL - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO XAVIER! What a cutie-patootie he is! I bet you wish you could be with him more. He looks so smoochable! Thanks for that sweet photo!

CHRISS - you could always make a small pot of chili. Or a big pot and freeze it in meal sized portions. It's great for those days when you've been out weed-eating the back forty and come inside tired and hungry. Yum! Ready made meals! I hope you love your new machine and it gives you lots of years of smooth sewing! But I also hope you get at least your favorite of those other machines serviced and any repairs made so you have a back-up. We all need a reliable back-up. If you sold the extras, that could pay for servicing the best one.

SHARONA - yum! I love baked spaghetti! What??! You make the cat move?? What kind of person are you?? Foxy loves to sleep on my sewing chair. So sometimes I just have to perch on the front of the chair and hope it doesn't upset us both! If I do, he gets huffy and will go see if Bill's office chair is vacant. I've seen Bill go get a dining chair for himself and gently slide the office chair to the side. haha! I think I trained him too well. Glad you had extra t-shirts. You could also have added a frame around your too small block. An idea to save for next time.

MARY Q - congrats on finishing another UFO! I have a "design floor" in my living room, too. Only place I have to lay out quilts. You mentioned Monticello not far from you. We've camped in their city park before! Wish we'd known you back then. I think it was in 2006. We were so close!

TINA - whoosh!! Did you get your 3 days of wind? You are probably battling the dust in the house. Cover your machine!

JUDI - Have a fab time with Navy and VAl! Lots of fun, smooching, giggling, and playing hide'n'seek! I was wondering if you are seeing more crowds, etc with the NFL Draft going on. Guess so! I'm so sorry about your nephew's hip. He's awfully young to have a first replacement, let alone a second. Sending prayers for him. I'm making good progress on my hexies. I spend about 3 hours per evening on them in front of the TV, maybe 4 evenings a week. You should know, in my will it states that all unfinished hexie projects go directly to you!

We did make it to Costco yesterday and had about $250 worth of stuff in the cart before we even started on our short list. It's their evil plan! But in Costco's defense, it was good stuff! Then I spent most of the day working on Ohio Stars and cat blocks for SSC. Today I will hit the regular grocery for a couple more items, then get a haircut appt at 11am. I was thinking I might grow it out, but that isn't working so well for me. I'm sure I'll find some time in the sewing room, too. I'll get my star blocks finished and move on to the 10 tree blocks. I also want to try May Lotto blocks. I pulled a couple scraps for that but haven't circled around to actually make them yet. Maybe today. I also still have my March lotto winnings to put together. I need a mini me!

Wishing everyone, especially Jana, full bobbins today!

Good morning!

Looks like we're in for another good thunder storm today. It was a doozy yesterday. Even a tonado right here in Herriman! More of what we call a dust devil. The difference is a tornado is cloud to ground and the dust devil goes from the ground to the cloud. Not much different in my book, still wind and can cause damage! Even had hail. Also watered my lawn for me!

The binding is all on the quilt. Just hand turning it to the back. We wound enough bobbins to finish yesterday and the part will be here in a couple of days. After reading Carol's post, I'm beginning to think this particular dealer is not very nice. It's the only one here in the valley. The dealer I bought my machine from retired and just closed up . So the only other dealer is up in Logan, about a 2 hour drive. Michael has been in this place before and never liked it either.

Mr Grumpy cleaned off his desk . Miracle! This is all because of the prescription fiasco the other day. And guess what he found, a missing credit card, under the monitor stand. We had searched every where and canceled that card when we found it missing months ago. So he's still got another desk to clean, the one in the Batt Cave.

Today I have the binding to finish. Also need a run to Costco. The cow ran dry. Maybe a run to the hardware store, I need a can of special brick sealant for the inside of the new planters.

Wel my sewing island is cleaned off, ready for a new project. I think OWL is next up to finish.

Hugs and lots of prayers,
Jana

Good morning all
I have been busy especially Wed. I got grass mowed ,kitchen cleaned, and a box of clothes packed up and in trunk of car. Also got binding cut and pressed for snowman challenge piece. Also a lot of miscellaneous jobs. Yesterday did weed eating around some flower beds and humming bird feeders. Although they have not showed up yet. Also started binding for the Chicken Salad quilt. Now just to get them home and binding on all three quilts.
Its supposed to rain for next four days After I go to Galesburg either Sunday or Monday I will start cleaning up my raised beds. I will be working in rain if I have to. Also need to clean down porch and decorate for spring. I will need to make a run to my local garden shop. Need lots of flowers.
Barney is getting some training done. He is such a stinker.
Jim is adjusting to new place. It is so much better. And the food is much better.
Maryz You just reminded me I need to order some stuff from Sams club. I dont dare drive to Peoria to actual store Or I would spend way too much. I have found I can get four months or longer from a can of coffee. I need one extra can. LOl I am not telling how many I got stored away.
Judi Prayers being sent for your nephew .
Sorry Ladies my sister just called and wants to go early. I need to get ready
Y'all have a great sewing day
Katy

Good morning Friends

Just a quick hello this morning as I'm heading to the Dr's office this morning! OUCH... I've done something to my back, again, and my NP is a miracle worker when it comes to fixing me, so I am going up to get "tweaked" It doesn't bother me too much during the day, but makes sleeping even much more difficult!

BUT, I have to say....Becca dear...My thoughts and prayers go out to Brodee and his family. And you know what, I think that's what we were all put on earth for in the first place.... to do GOOD!

Lois... Bet it feels really good to have a nice cleaning sewing room ready to go when you want to get that quilt for Bill started!!

Judi... OMG.. Navy is 2 already!! I bet she will have a ball today with her Gramma and GG! Will send a couple prayers for your nephew too, poor guy... another hip surgery!

Mary.... Monticello is just up the road from me.. and quick trip on the highway. Kind of funny to think we could have been within blocks of each other back in 2006!

Jana... Ok, I'm sorry but I had to laugh at Michael finding the credit card... only because the same thing has happened to me, and probable a few of us. Canceled a credit card and later found it under the seat of my car!!

Chriss... Hope your new machine arrives quickly!! SO fun to play with a new one. I think my Janome is my favorite, it's the one I use the most, after that it's my Brother Embroidery machine, which will also work as a reg. machine if I take the embroidery part off.

Valerie... What a darling little boy!

Guess I better run and myself ready to go. After the Dr. appointment I'm going to make a mad dash to Joann to see if I can find the same background fabric, then to the hardware store for a couple painting supplies. Here's a tip for you, have you seen that stuff that's like a clear sticky tape on both sides? And the commercials say it's safe for walls? IT'S NOT! I put up some cute pictures in my bathroom, and went to move them... nope, took the sheet rock off the wall. SO I patched and now I have to repaint. NOT what I want to do today or this weekend!!!

Wishing you all a fabulous Friday!

Good morning!

Becca – both of your gardens sound wonderful. Have fun planting today.

Lois – what a great gift for Bill! And your dinner sounds fabulous. Well, except for the seafood part. ;)

Judi – what fun Navy’s parents must be having. Prayers for your nephew. Enjoy your Navy time.

Maryz – good grief you are sure busy. So glad you had fun at the Costcos yesterday. Thanks for the brilliant idea of putting a frame around wrong-sized blocks. Happy haircut day!

Jana - that’s too bad about the dealer. Isn’t it amazing the things we find when we clean. Do you hand sew the binding down?

Katy – dang you are so industrious. I always have an extra bag of coffee beans on hand. That and TP – two things we should never run out of. Have fun with your sister.

Maryq – sorry to hear your back is paining you. How annoying to have the sheet rock taken off the wall. How rude! Hope the NP can get your back straightened out.

Valerie – HB to Xavier! He is a cutie. Sure hope your cold decides it’s time to hit the road.

I am headed back out to ‘The Quilt’. I measured something wrong and cut a block too short (again). We got a very mild thunderstorm last night – I opened up the door to hear it and what a marvelous sound it was. Our rain/snow starts this evening. Have a glorious day! xoxo Sharona

Cloudy, windy day. Gusting to 25 mph. Tomorrow forecast says gusts to 45 mph, and windy into next week. Don't like driving in the wind but won't have a choice.

Wednesday was a terrible day. I had to go to Corpus to buy a new phone at Verizon. I had them transferring my stuff but it was taking too long and I had to get back to Motorhome. I was told that after transfer was done, just restart. We'll it didn't work. Had to make another trip to Verizon. For some reason they locked my account, no one can answer why. Then we had issues with our electric, at 1 a.m., so I was out in my jammies hooking us up to the site next to us. Thankfully it was empty.

Yesterday wasn't much better. I have lost some of my contacts. I will call Verizon and hope they can tell me how to transfer them.

Becca, Sending prayers for Brodee.

Valerie, What a cute little guy, Xavier is.

MaryZ, This is our normal time to leave. We always set our appt for the first week in May.

Time to start packing up. I also need to see if I can fix the washing machine. It quit spinning and draining at the end of March. But been to busy or not here to work on it.

I hope everyone has a good day!
Lyn

Good morning. I woke up to a sky full of black clouds and now there are white ad grey clouds and wind. The weatherman said it may rain but I just don't see it happening.

Yesterday I made meatloaf for dinner, and it will be had again tonight. I also made some for the freezer.

The machine I ordered is backordered and the company called me, I canceled it. I did find it on the Singer website with a Mother's Day discount so was able to purchase it for even less. It's a Singer 9960 and almost like my old Singer.

I had thought yesterday was bathroom cleaning day but was very wrong. It's been rescheduled for today so that and other house cleaning is on my agenda for the day. If I have day left, I may step out into the garage and see if I can clean an entire square foot of space.

Valerie, please give adorable Xavier a smooch from me when you see him. Hope his first birthday was a fun time for him and that there was cake everywhere.

Jana, yay, the quilt can be quilted. There's a lot to be said for duct tape, bailing wire and a little spit.

Becca, I'm only planting tomatoes this year. I didn't really have a chance to get the soil ready for serious planting. Moose and I do the watering and fertilizing. I am hoping they do well. I wouldn't argue if you brought me some eggplant, might even fix you a meal while you're here. Prayers for our Brodee, he's a tough little guy.

Lois, I may sit between you and Bill for dinner tonight. I love both crab and catfish. He will love his father's day quilt.

Judi prayers for your nephew. I so wish I could spend the day with you and little Miss terrible two Navy. A little sassiness can be cute, and I bet she is the cutest.

Maryz, I also spent a bit of money at Costco the other day. But my freezer is full, and I may not need to purchase meat for the rest of the year. I did fail to pick up a few things and am starting a new list. Seems there's always a list of some kind going on.

Katy, I also have stored coffee, Jerry drank Yuban and there are 4 cans of it out in the garage, I'm a Folgers snob and have a few cans here. Glad Jim is liking the new place he is in.

Maryq, hope that back is a quick and complete fix. Sorry about the wall damage. It's wonderful that you are able to fix stuff like that yourself. My machine will be here by May 10th. It's a lot like my old Singer, I'm very excited about it.

Sharon, I also love the sound of the rain. We are predicted to get rain, but I have my doubts.

Lyn, hoping that eventful Wednesday was just a fluke and not repeated. Happy packing and safe travels.

Hoping you girls have a spectacular day. I'm off to get my day started, it's going to be wonderful.
