Good morning

We made it to Florida. Shortest day yet – 200 miles. Following GPS missed the turn so it directed us to take a shortcut off at 4 lane, divided highway. It looked like a small country lane with yellow line down the middle when we turned left onto it. In one trailer length it turned into a narrow dirt road with a low overhanging tree ahead. And an oncoming pick up! Bad news! Bill got out and walked up the road and said we aren’t going to make it. We are 13‘6“ tall, the guy in the pick up told us it was a half mile short cut to the road we wanted but agreed we wouldn’t make it. We ended up having to back out onto that highway. Fortunately, very low volume traffic. And that’s how we started the day . Our hosts did insist we stay on their property. Our intent had originally been an RV park. But they are afraid of Scotty. Oh sheltie. They think he will kill their Chihuahua. 😹. The man warned us sternly to “keep that dog on a leash!” Well, he hadn't been off the leash! 2.5 acres here but Scott needs to be leashed at all times and shut in trailer whenever their dog is out. BTW. Their dog’s birthday is Thursday and there’s going to be a party. We need to go buy a present. No lie!

We will be here one week. Then meander our way back to Austin. Decided we need one more week of babysitting. We told the kids we will pay double. And after that, we will start home.

No computer here, but this is short. Katy, you have gone so far above and beyond and don’t let anyone take advantage of you. Not even your kids. Stand your ground. Better to have a completely unattached car.

Hugs to all!

Mary z
