Good morning,
I never made it here yesterday I had some stuff to do .
We were enrolled in this program through our Drs office to take your BP at home and it transmits through our cell phone to the office
We I got mine set up and paired with the BP machine but Bill had a problem with his so we had to call and get help so I was on the phone with the tech for well over an hour We finally got it to go they want you to take your BP twice a day every other day so thats what we will do.
Today is the scavenger hunt for us so I'm making some sort of list.
When I get home there will be some wash to do .
If I have time I will go into my room for some sew time.

Well thats all the news here I hope your day is a good 1.
Lois

Good morning everyone.
I managed to finish the first memory quilt top yesterday. Today I plan on cutting fabric for the second one. I really don’t know the story behind the quilts and I am not sure I want to know. This past Sunday night hubby’s oldest daughter’s car was broke into. They took her purse which had her wallet and special things in it. Her dog got loose and she didn’t lock the car when she went after her dog. This has been an ongoing thing in our area. It happened to 3 other people in our neighborhood. Unfortunately we have homeless people and people that won’t get a job that think it is easier to steal from people that work. Well, I am going to get a second cup of coffee. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Lois - ATT gave me a blood pressure cuff and diabetes meter that were like yours. It was a company called Livongo. At first it worked and the readings would download. Then it stopped. I called them and the tech told me I needed to go to the city to get the readings to download.

Good Morning All. It is dark and in the 30s today. Forcast is for snow tomorrow. Ken and I have date night,,,Grand daughter bought us tickets to the Red Wing Game downtown Detroit, Ken doesnt like much professional hockey but he will watch with me sometimes...but his Granddaughter asked him to take me and he wont say no to the grand daughter, So we will eat down there tonight,,,I always love going to the games..
Yesterday I got all the laundry caught up did the scavenger hunt,,,,( Prices are so high) I used coupons and bought what was on sale....I am glad I have a stocked pantry and I can bake bread if needed,,,but I feel for the people who cannot afford even the basic foods now...And every week they come up with something that they have to raise the price of due to some crisis in some place. I have my doubts...I buy as much as I can organic and local...
Today I will cut some more sashing for the Jane quilt...there are over 400 pieces of sashing,,,at different sizes...so I will cut and cut and cut. I think when I get to sewing it will still be slow...
Off to drink my coffee and maybe sit at the cutting table. Hope you have a great day,,,,,safe travels, lots of sewing, and clean houses...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning,

SUZETTE - Who are you making these memory quilts for? I've forgotten. That's too bad about your SD's car and loss of her purse. It's all too common anymore.

LOIS - Maybe that BP technology was designed as a BP test! Because it would sure test mine!

TINA B - About the price of the Happiness is Scrapiness book by Lori Holt book - list price is about $35. I got it on sale at QIAD last fall for $22.71 cents plus shipping. She details her method of storing scraps in the first few pages and then directions for 32 quilts follow. They are all easy patterns for using up those scraps. The book is spiralbound and about an inch thick. Heavy, colorful pages with lots of photos.

MARY Q - I'm so glad your were able to save your furnace's life! God bless Tom! I keep my fingers crossed about ours. Our house is 47 years old and I've owned it for 37 years. Same furnace - a GE which was bought out later by Trane. We had it serviced last summer because about once a year it would stop working. Bill would "flip the switch" on the electrical panel and it would work again. The service man said the furnace is fine but advised us to have the electrical panel checked out by an electrician. We did that and it had to be replaced. But beware if that ends up being a path you have to go down in the future. We got 3 bids on that job and one bid was so inflated, saying we needed $7,000+ worth of things. The second bid about $4,000. And the last bid was way low. Turns out the highest bid was adding things that would only have been required if we were a business. We ended up going with the middle bid. So if you do think you need a new furnace, you might not. But there are those who will try to gyp you. Sad but true.

JANA - that's a lot of vehicles! But you have a large, busy family going in so many directions! I thought Aaron bought a big truck last year - had to wait a long time to get it? Didn't it have some problems, but was under warranty?

VAL - For my buildings, I used grunge in different stucco shades - a pinky orange, a rust, and a reddish brown, I think. I bought FQ's for them. On your advice we found Cherry Berry quilt shop here in Bakersfield yesterday. What a great shop, friendly, and helpful, and huge. Prices were good and the clearance shelf was right in the front door, not hidden way in the back. I spent $41 on fabric I probably don't need. :D Three reds and a floral from the clearance shelf and some blue Mickey Mouse vintage fabric to make my younger sister a tote for her birthday.

CHRISS - I'm sorry about your sewing room plans. But maybe, since Jerry is likely going to live, he might like to have a cozy TV room all to himself - aka , your old sewing room. :D To be honest, I've considered moving all the sewing to the family room downstairs. But we like live down there with the big screen TV, the wood stove, easy access to the garage and beer fridge. But I did take over Lara's old bedroom for sewing (10x10) and Mike's old bedroom (10x13) for the long arm and other storage. If I have to set up my serger or lay a quilt out to trim after quilting, then I comandeer the dining room table, too. Thanks for those sewing tips! It never hurts any of us to "hit refresh"! And yes, this last 1,000 miles, the pull of the barn is strong, but, like you said, the last 100 is almost torturous for me! It's fun, when we finally get home and watch the fur kids faces when we let them out and they see where we are! lol!

JUDI - Have fun on your date tonite! I hope your Wings win!

It's been really hard to adjust to Pacific time. For us and for our boys. We're all falling asleep in our chairs at 7pm and waking up at 3am. And Scottie thinks the minute my eyes open it's time to feed the dog! He won't survive if I even detour to the bathroom for 3 minutes. Going east isn't so difficult, but coming back west is rough.

Yesterday I got the last North Stars block cut out. Whew! Cutting those blocks was kind of intense. This quilt has roughtly 1,500 pieces in it. And the very last piece of the very last block, I didn't have enough fabric to cut a 3" square, so I cut two pieces and put a note to myself on them with a pin to sew them together to make the 3" sq. What are those odds?

Today we have a 350 mile run to Colusa, CA. There is a casino there with free RV parking and a fuel station. Fuel prices here in CA are astronomical! Diesel here is almost twice the price it is in Texas. And yet, a teensy bit cheaper than when we went south thru Calif 3 months ago.

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Good morning to everyone. Central Illinois is bracing for a winter storm coming in. Expecting 4-7" for our county. Things sometimes change so we are keeping a close eye on weather. Even my sister in Indiana is expecting 6"-8". So this storm is a big one.
I am expecting cancelation of appointments and events across the area.
Good time to cook comfort food and sew up a "storm". LOL
Hope you all have a great day and safe travels for our pal, Maryz!
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Good morning!

Bitter cold here, no snow, I sent that east to share with y'all. Later this week, snow will be back.

Not much new around these parts. Hopefully will make it down to my Batt Cave today. Kari is still looking at job opportunities. She saw a opening for a city just up the road, to research businesses filing for a license. She's rather tired of insurance, so this could be a good change. It is also not to far from Karlie's school either.

Sarah's kitchen is progressing quite well. There are two cabinets that the company will replace. One they broke delivering and the other was the wrong size. She gets to keep both of those to use wherever.

The sun is trying to stretch and get up over the tall mountains to my east, hasn't succeeded quite yet, but the clouds are beautiful in their morning yellows.

Stay safe,
Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning to All.
Windy and rainy on the coast of Texas. We are on the edge of severe weather this afternoon. I'm afraid CindyG and Sue may get the worst of it.

I'm working on the doggy steps, so Minnie can get on the bed at the house. We'll probably go up to the house on Thursday. Want to check on things and have a few business items to take care of.

Y'all mention the price of groceries. Last night on the news they had a store about discount grocery stores. Stores that carry products that are close to "end to sell" date, which doesn't mean the food isn't still good. The store they featured was on the west side of Loveland, CO, Esh's Closeout Grocery Store. My DD1 shopped there often when she lived in the area. Anyway, it was noted that there are many stores like this around the country. Maybe there's one near you.

Good Cloudy Morning......

I didn't make it here either yesterday, no power most of the day & Some snow(4"). It got chilly here.
My big news this week end is the Yankee candles I ordered arrived. Peaches & Berries and 'clean Cotton' for the sewing room. Today I'll fold laundry & some tote sewing. I have enough 2" strips to make 8, I think. They make such a great gift.

Lois.......I'm happy you got your BP set up. It's wonderful what technology can do for us. Hope you find all you scavenge for.

Suzette.........Oh no, I hope the stolen purse does not turn her whole live up side down. I guess the quilt will mean a whole lot to the recipients. You might be making a hug for someone.

Judi......sounds like a special night for you & DH. I just know you'll enjoy it.
Prices are out of sight. After $110 in food the frig still looked rather empty. Eggs were $6 but chicken thighs were on sale for .99....I got 2 packages or 18 thighs. I'll be spending some time with Jane today also, reading.

Maryz......Oh wow, Patching for a 3" sq......just like a quilter from the 1800s.
The note is a very good idea. Prayers for safe travel. May you find one station with cheap fuel.

Vel......I must start again to check the weather. The last 2 small storms caught me off guard. Praying to keep you & your family safe in the storm.

Flo......well more snow will be coming my way if you & Vel are getting more.
Hope you are all snuggled in when it snows.

Izzy......??????? "DH got 4 new cows all pregnant"???????? It gave me a chuckle!
I hope you got all testing done.

Jana......you are having more Winter than we are. Prayers for Kari finding a new job. Go Girl!

Lyn........I did see the weather was not looking so good for the TX coast. What a wonderful idea for a store. The sell by date is long before it may not be good.

Love & Prayers........Kathy
