Good Morning Everyone,

Today it will be in the 80's and I will gladly take it cooling down is so nice.
We are going to khols I need a few thing so thats what will be doing.
Yesterday after the cleaning was done I took a cup of coffee and sat on the deck under the umbrella with my book with Aspen in it and started reading it then I went on YouTube where Edya Sitar was explaining how she constructed the quilt which was great so when I get my background I think I will start

Well thats all the news here I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Good morning!

Yes, the price of new vehicles is terrible! My Highlander, which is now 6 years old was the same price as our first house! And the wait now!

Rained off and on most of yesterday, which kept our temps very nice, in the 80's and more today and more tomorrow, and so forth into next week as well. The rain dances are definitely helping! We are so grateful for all our rain.

I did get one of my bench pillows quilted yesterday. Karlie was my helper. It was reminiscent of me as a child, as she was playing under my LA, as I was quilting. I would play as a child under the quilt on the frame, that my mom and grandmother would be hand quilting for many hours. Today I will load the other pillow and quilt it. I readied the first steps for the Candy Corn quilt by labeling baggies for each block. There were a lot of them! So today I will cut and put the fabrics from the kit in the baggies and be ready to start, when I get some black embroidery thread. I am very low, almost out and need a good sized spool.

Our clock will be delivered this morning. Michael was able to simply re-arrange the light switches in the box on the wall and move the one we use most often to the outside position. The others were redundant switches to my kitchen, which are never used, as they are out of the usual way. I have three way switches to turn on lights from several spots in the kitchen area. He did the move live, with the power on, and did manage to accidentally pop the breaker by the tip of the screwdriver touching what shouldn't be touched. Glad the breaker works! LOL!

The neighborhood is slowly waking up. Dogs are barking, garbage trucks are making their rounds, and ol' mister sun is just starting to peek over the mountains. My little rooster must still have his eyes covered, and be asleep, he's not adding to the noise out there.

Do fun stuff, it's Friday!

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning,

I slept so soundly last night! I feel ready to be up and at 'em!

JUDI - that is a LOT of hexies! How many can you do in an hour? A clear fishing tackle box is purrfect for storing them. There are a lot of great storage containers in the sporting goods dept and hardware stores that are cheaper then ones meant for sewing. Has your new little DGGD got a name yet or are they waiting to meet her first? How long will Chey be gone - just the day or the weekend? How long until she has to leave for home? Such a bummer about the price of vehicles. We were lucky when we bought our car in May of 2020, just as Covid got going. We were looking to buy a new one, but they happened to have a 4 yr old, low mileage, right color (red) SUV on the lot for half the cost of a new vehicle. We were lucky.
CONGRATULATIONS on losing 35 pounds! You deserve a standing O!

KATY - happy organizing! I have 14x14x3 inch totes for all my specialty fabrics - Halloween, TG, FAll, animals, Valentines, St. Pat's, Vehicle/travel, Americana etc. I have Christmas divided by color into several small totes I bought at Costco that are a bit larger than shoeboxes. I have a 4-drawer iris cart that has novelty themed fabrics like foods, music, sewing, military, college, etc. And everything in my room is clearly labeled. You probably won't be surprised to know that I have an entire shelf devoted to cat fabrics. lol! I love organizing.

JANA - glad the switches are working out. So did you solve the Christmas tree/clock issue? You are going great guns on those bench pillows. After Candy Corn, do you have another project in mind?

LOIS - Bad me! I forgot about Aspen! But when I Googled it, I did recall you were going to do that pattern. Do you have all your blue fabrics? What are you using for background? Have you ordered it and are waiting or are you going shopping?

SHERRY - glad you are feeling better. I know you enjoyed that game yesterday. We saw a story on it on the news last night.

KATHY - I always love seeing you post! You were so sick for so long, I really missed you! Sorry about the sticky floor. Good thing you don't have carpet under your ironing board! When we renovated our bathroom last year Bill put a top on our old vanity and I turned that into my ironing surface. And I even have a bit of storage underneath and a couple of small drawers.

MARY Q - I know you'll be along soon - won't you? What did you do over the weekend?

Yesterday I never even got into the sewing room other than to watch Foxy eat his breakfast. (his dish is in the sewing room) He likes company while he eats and keeps one eye on me to make sure I don't sneak out once his face is buried in his food bowl. lol! Bill and I both turned to and got a long list of uglies done. Stripped beds, washed sheets, made a guest room our of our quilt room, dusted, polished kitchen counters, cleaned bathrooms, and more. He mowed and weed-eated. Today we'll be hitting Safeway - they often have meat sales on Friday and Bill wants to grill steaks for all our guests on Wed. -We'll just cover our eyes at the checkstand. And we'll work the to-do list the rest of the day. I hope I can find some sewing time today. I have 6 more leaf blocks ready to sew together. That will make me almost halfway there!

I'm going to try to take Jana's advice and, since it's Friday, do something fun! And if it's not fun (did you read the part about laundry and mopping??), I'll make a game out of it! lol!

I'm still feeling fine, no Covid symptoms.

They did the scope on my SIL, Curt, yesterday. Finally have some answers, not good though. He has Tracheobronchomalacia, a rare lung disease, that occurs when the walls of the airway are weak. Specifically, weakness is seen in the Trachea — the large tube through which air starts its journey to the lungs and Bronchi — the two main offshoots of the trachea which let air reach the lungs. This can cause the airway itself to become narrow or collapse. I'm glad a Pulmonary specialist did this test and found the problem. Curt will probably have to have surgery. Your prayers are appreciated.

Need a cup of coffee, so I can read everyone's posts.

Good Morning All

Happy Friday... But man-o-man didn't this last week go by fast! Can't believe it IS Friday again already! Woke up to a clap of thunder and decided to stay up and try to get SOMETHING accomplished today.. It's been a crazy busy week!

Lois... If I could send you some of my rain I sure would. It's so wonderful to see things turning green here again. Is Aspen a new quilt pattern you are trying. Normally I don't watch stuff on You tube much, but I think I'm going to start... looks like there is ALL sorts of fun things to watch. I had to google that quilt pattern.. OH My gosh it's gorgeous!! What colors?

Judi... You are making hexi's by the THOUSANDS??? What size square do you start with and do you color coordinate or make them all from misc. scraps? And are you CRAZY? So it will be relatively quiet at your house this weekend? No giggly girls? Just dogs?

Jana... Your DH is a brave man to do electrical work with out turning off the switch! Do you remember old house houses that had fuses? You had to keep spare fuses around all the time in case one blew. I've switched out switches and outlets and light fixtures, but I've always turned of the breaker... Don't want to get zapped!

Katy... Do you mean to tell me that up until now you haven't stored fabric in tote boxes? Seriously? Walmart and Target have made a fortune on my supply of tote boxes!

Kathy... Hello back at ya!

Maryz... Yup... here I am! The first day this week I don't have to go some place! So I'm staying in!. Your company arrives next week? You will surely be busy busy busy! Do you take them on a sight seeing tour or just hang about the house. Does your sis from CO quilt too? Do you need to guard your fabric from her?

Lyn.... Is this the first time they've been able to figure out what's been bothering Curt? Poor guy. Will surgery be able to fix it? Glad to hear you are symptom free. This Covid is a weird thing. My DIL Sara has it now, but feeling better, my neighbor had it, took the med, felt better and re-tested positive again! Knock on wood... I haven't had it, though had a doozy of cold!

So what's your POTD! Today I am determined to get at least 2 quilts "Viv ready"----borders and backing. She is coming up this weekend for a visit and I'd love to be able to send home a couple of quilts with her. Yesterday Kris and Evie came over and painted my master bathroom room and it's so so pretty now! No more ugly being paint! It's a soft gray blue now. SO after I take a shower in my new pretty bathroom I'm going to get to work. I'm waiting for an Amazon order of zippers so I can finish up some pencil cases I'm making this weekend. Though tomorrow I'm going to go help KC for a little.. I think we are just about done.

This link below is a little story from one of our local news stations about a gal that lives about 2 miles from me. I adopted a couple kids because... well I do love school supplies. That card table you see in the yard is actually mine    Anyway, it was a fun project to do and it was fun to see her house full of supplies. Some is donated by businesses, but most by families in the area. The pencils cases will go to her when I have them done. 22 done about another 25 in process. Watch carefully close to the end of story and you will see tag #351... that's a bag I filled!

Time for more coffee and to crank up the sewing machine!

Good morning. It's going to be a beautiful day today. We should see just below 100* today. Gotta love air conditioning.

Yesterday I played in my room. Got some Medicare stuff and some sewing done. The side effects of my shingles shot prohibited me from playing too long but I feel I made progress.

Today is the ice cream social at the Senior Center. I'm not going, too much Covid going on for me to do much mingling. And ice cream really isn't on my list of things I should be eating. Too much sugar.

Lois, sounds so relaxing, sitting on the deck with a book, coffee and shade. So peaceful. Hope you find what you are looking for at Kohls. I really haven't found anything at department stores lately.

Judi, your family just keeps growing. How exciting to get a new baby. Wow, 35 pounds is wonderful. Have you had to buy new clothes? Nice you made the kids a chicken dinner. My grandma used to make me fried chicken, it was marvelous. Good memories. Vehicles are quite expensive. Jerry also wants a new truck, not likely to happen soon.

Jana, Karlie is really going to have some great memories with grandma as she grows up. It's good to be her.

Katy, I also have my fabric in plastic totes that I can see through. I have one with flannel, one with Christmas and the rest is pretty much sorted by color. And I have fabric that won't fit in the totes and is just stacked on my shelves. DH put shelves in the closet for fabric tote, very helpful. Happy sewing room clean up, wish I was there, I'd help.

Kathy, I want a cleaning girl. I actually wish I could empty my house and have someone come in and clean top to bottom then I could put all my stuff back into the house. Glad you are finding people to help meet your needs.

Maryz, isn't a good nights sleep just the best thing ever? yay for being half done with those quilt blocks. Curious to what you find to do that is fun today.

Lyn, prayers for your SIL. So glad they figured out what was going on.

Maryq, great news story. and an adorable card table. What a cool thing for that mom to do. Here they gave away back packs and some things to put in them like pens, pencils, but nothing like what your friend is doing. Hope you get those quilts Viv ready.

Suzette, how were DH's sleep study results? Glad he was finally able to complete the study.

Diane, sorry about yesterday's flight. Hope you are in the air as we speak.

Sherry, so glad you are feeling better. Enjoy the game.

Today I will be playing in my room, I need to do some Medicare stuff and want to start a new bible study. I bought a bible that is in chronological order. I remember Sharona saying she did this study and it read like a story. But first breakfast.

You all have a marvelous day
