Wish I could send some of you the cool, 55 and overcast, morning that I woke up to. Weather is warning of afternoon thunderstorms and rain on and off today.

With that being said, I probably won't try out the new Ego Chainsaw today. Since MaryZ asked, I just did a comparison, and I don't think it weighs much more than a Featherweight machine. So, under 15# for sure.

I know some of you want to know about our Dr appt, by phone, yesterday. Because there had been mess ups on the blood work, the specialist that our Dr is consulting isn't sure about Garry's Parathyroid. I told Dr W. that we would be here into August and could have 3 tests done, a week apart, at the same place, like the specialist had wanted to start with. Dr W. is checking, she said the other Dr may want to wait awhile and then do them, but she would note to him that we are nomadic. Hhmmm I've never considered us to be 'Nomadic', "roaming about from place to place aimlessly, frequently, or without a fixed pattern of movement." We know exactly where we are going!! Dr W. changed time and dose of a couple of DH's RX's. Then we talked about my blood test from mid June. I get Gold stars!! She said it's the best test results she has ever seen on a patient! She told me to go live life and enjoy! I told her I had bought a new Chainsaw and was it Ok to cut up the tree. She laughed and said that I have my Dr's permission and have fun and be safe.

I need to put the guest bedroom back into some kind of order, but it should really be sorted out. After our 2 floods in 2013 and 2014 pictures and other items got put in the corner of that room and just hasn't been on the priority list when I'm here. I will do some sewing today and probably laundry instead. Yesterday afternoon I was on the phone to the quilt friend who parks next to us in Texas. I was telling her I was having trouble finding a variegated thread to go with all the colors of my Christmas toy block. Then I look up from my Bernina and there on my HQS16 is a big spool of the color I probably need!! Hiding in plain sight!

MaryZ, that's a beautiful quilt. I may have to check my magazines and see if I have that one.

My daughter, Stacey, just text and asked how much hail we got last evening in the storm that came thru. I replied, What hail, we had a few sprinkles. Then she sent me this link. Downtown Estes is about 5 miles north of us.

I have a question. The graduation quilt is made from a jelly roll. Once I sew the strips together the strip measures 2”. When it comes time to quilt it can I stitch in the ditch with a decorative stitch? Will it be secure enough?

Suzette, yes. Most batting now says you can quilt up to 8 inches apart. I've done the 2 in strips and stitched in the ditch. It's plenty to keep it secure.
