Good morning Lois..It is rainy here we did get a bit of storms last night but nothing to write home about. Today it is gloomy cloudy.
I did make it into my sewing room yesterday and put together a table runner..I need 5 of these for gifts. They are a one day project so Im not in a hurry, I think after this I will work on some blocks I found and put together the tops and quilt them...More quilts to add to my pile...It might be time to start giving them away...then I will start on Shermans March.
I did strip the bed this morning so now it is time to get laundry done and go pick up my meat order...I will be packing it up this afternoon to load the freezer. it is 3-4 months worth. I have a vaccume sealer.
Prayers for BEcca and family.. I hope she has plenty of help. Hope your day is full of sunshine...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good sunny morning from Myrtle bch.

Susan Valentine from NC flew in yestrday and today a few of us will get them squared up and Kathleen will getting them bagged and as set for binding. The women at the guild usually take some so they should go quickly. I want to finally finish my UFO's. Since I moved upstairs I still have not sorted out a closet in the old room. It seems like the time flies by and I have not finished anything. I do have a qov top to give in, so I guess that is a plus. It seems like tomorrow never comes. I guess its an "old person" ailment. LOL.

Flo- add in chocolate chips and I'm there.

Enjoy
Diane

A fasting morning for both of us here. I have the other 2 ultrasounds this morning and DH has a blood test. DH saw Dr yesterday and she has consulted with a Parathyroid specialist who wants 3 blood test, one done a week. She strongly believes he has a Parathyroid problem.

Prayers for Becca and a blanket prayer over everyone.
Hope you can play with fabric today.

Good morning!

It's that time around these parts to say, another beautiful day here in the Mountain West! My mountains still have a small top dressing of snow, but that will be gone in the not to distant future.

Not much different at my house. Ethan comes down on his bike to see what Grandma is doing and what I have he can eat. He goes over to the park, that's between his house and mine, to see which friends are there, if none, he comes here. It's hard being the youngest, and basically , the only child at his house. The age difference between Ethan and Stuart is 15 years and Stu is out on his own. Ethan can make noise at my house, his house, both work from home, so it needs to be quiet. When Karlie gets here, Ethan and Karlie will have lots of fun together. Gracie and Lila will be here often, I am sure!

Still plugging away on the embroidery - it will be done today! I so order! LOL! My lesson for Relief Society is cooking on the back burner of my brain. Just about done cooking and getting ready for all the notes, ideas and questions to start a discussion to get put on paper. May have a question or two that will start a doozy of a discussion - there are so many ways and ideas on how to teach self reliance to our kids. I have some of the women in Relief Society that are very much what is called - helicopter mom's- hovering over everything, I mean everything that their kids do and never letting the kid learn from a mistake. Mom always fixes it. Not me! Not that my kids are perfect, but I do think they are turning out well. LOL!

Hugs, prayers, and what ever else is needed!

Good Morning

I'm guess there might a few more up and at "em this morning.. perhaps typing at the same time I am! Kind of a dreary morning here and I grabbed a pair of sweatpants this morning as it's a wee bit chilly.

Not a lot of news to report from Minnesota this morning. I did go help KC a little bit yesterday, but it's a drop in the bucket compared to what needs to be done. We got a few things sorted and lined up on her shelves. She sent me home with two beautiful kits that she no longer wanted. And a few other pieces of things she didn't want any probably give away or put in a goodwill box. I think she feels good that we are making progress!

Lois..... Laundry day at your house too? My hamper was over flowing and since I swear I am NOT leaving the house today... it's a good day to wash!

Judi.... Do you order like a 1/4 cow or just a bunch of different cuts? Since the kids have a little freezer, I'm tempted to "borrow" a little space in it and stock up on a few things before winter comes around again!

Flo.... I'm with Diane.. throw some chocolate chips in those oatmeal cookies and I'm there!

Diane.... yes to the chocolate chips! So how many UFO's are in your pile!? I bet I have more than you ! Don't tell anybody but there's a few hidden in the closet in my guest bathroom!

Lyn... Will send a few prayers your way too, that all your tests come out with good results.. and Garry too!

Jana.... Much better to learn from our mistakes... You'd think I'd be really really smart! Consequence of actions is a hard thing to teach, if a parent does all the fixing!

Guess I better re-heat my coffee and get in gear. The first load of laundry is ready to put in the dryer and I promised myself that I would work on one of KC's quilts today--she's anxious to get them back!

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you but especially to our Becca and her DH...

Good afternoon all! Just a quick stop in today. Got a bit of a storm last night but nothing serious. Today cloudy and muggy out. Not much planned for today. Put a pot of chili in the crockpot this morning. I know it is summer but in the mood for it. Also got lots of my favorites-watermelon and black sweet cherries. I could live on just them in the summer. Hope to get some pictures in the frames today and hung on the walls. I have had them laying here for quite a while so need to get it done.

Smoke and Sweetie are both fed and back to sleep. Yesterday Smoke went to the Vets and got his toenails trimmed so he is usually mad at me for a couple of hours. Today though he is back to normal and loving mom. Well better go get some lunch and take my medicine.

Have a good and safe day everyone.

Good almost evening. It's been a hot but beautiful day today. I have a little icon on my computer that tells me the temperature outside. It just says, Excessive Heat. Seems 90 is excessive. We will see triple digits this weekend.

Lois, I think it's so cool that you have Olivia to cut your hair. Happy sewing.

Judi, what pattern are you using for the table runner? What are the 5 gifts for? I also have tops and blocks to put together. I took home some blocks that were donated to my quilt group, I am supposed to do my best to put them together into a top of some sort. Remember that one Lori did with all of her mis-matched blocks and such? I want to try something like that.

Flo, I'd love either peanut butter or oatmeal. Or, if you really want to live dangerously, mix both together and add some chocolate chips. I'll bring the coffee.

Diane, that a lot of block sorting and bagging. I tried to get Flo to add chocolate chips too. If she does, I will pick you up on my way to her house.

Lyn, how did the tests go today? When will you have results? Not sure what to pray for so I will just pray for you and for Garry.

Jana, I think one of the most important things to teach a kid, especially a girl, is self-reliance. Girls will be stronger women if they realize they can do it themselves rather than relying on a man, which could end up being the wrong man, to do it for them. When I was younger, I had to learn everything from cooking to changing a tire. I think if young women, and men, are confident in themselves, they will go further in life. I really applaud you for teaching this lesson. PS, like yours, my kids aren't perfect either but both of our kids have wonderful parents.

Maryq, you are working hard for KC. I do love looking through stuff, it's fun. I will pick you up when I go get Diane for Flo's cookies.

Sherry, I am glad Smoke loves you again. We've never had Moose's toe nails clipped. I think here our muggy days are over for a while. It's summer and will be for a while.

We were in town this morning. Jerry had his neurology appointment. Tomorrow morning we go get his blood work and wait for the appointment to get his MRI. They are going to scan his head and neck.

Right now Jerry is making taco's for Taco Tuesday. Mine will be as nacho's over pork rinds.

Two more school days and the boys will be out. I've decided that next year I will take the boys to school but have their parents put them in the after school program so they can pick them up after work. I'm too stuck when I have to wait for school to get out. Their mom is also pregnant so we will see what happens there.

I will see you girls tomorrow, hope you had a great day.
