Good morning,

IZZY - congrats on your new babies! Oreo is a sweet name. Bet you are looking forward to summer. Are you going to work next school year?

MARY Q - sounds like your trip was a big success! Did you sell only new things you made or did you do a "purge and sell"? It does feel good to clear out stuff. Have you started binding on the tee-shirt quilt yet?

LYN - Well, I would say your DB deserves retirement! Congrats to him and my wishes for many happy years of relaxation ahead! Looks like a lot of us were doing laundry yesterday.

JANA - pass those brownies, please!

JUDI - Is it possible?? Could the end of the Basement be in sight?? Congrats to Liam on his graduation. Seems he was just a little guy. I so remember my own 8th grade graduation - a big day in my 14 yr old life! Does he have any idea what he wants to pursue in his life? I know he has many talents and gifts.

FLO - I hope a specialist can help you with the UTI's. Mary Q made several kitchen boas a few years ago. She might have ideas to share.

Yesterday I finished placing the last of my yard art around the yard. I have too much stuff - but I love it all! I collect most of it in thrift shops. Then I played in the sewing room and came up with an idea for the Holiday Calendar Swap. Today I will work on that project some more. Still praying to the fabric gods that more material gods that more of my Irish Chain fabric will show up. I will also be doing some cooking today for company tonite.

My newlyweds got home from their honeymoon last night and sent us a few pictures of themselves at the Grand Canyon. But they aren't telling anyone yet. They want some time before they resume their regular lives. So, Shhhhh.... don't tell anyone.

The news from Uvalde, TX, about 150 miles from Autumn, is horrifying. Please join me in praying for everyone involved - the victims and their families, the first responders, the medical staff, and even the resident of that small town. Their lives will never be the same. They need prayers.

Good morning to all
Today is our cousins lunch. Looking forward to a lot of laughs.

So very very sorry of the loss of innocent children--some of the parents were having a problem indentifing their own child. What a horror for the parents to see their loved shot like that. My prayers and tears for the parents and families, the emts, the police and all others who will remember forever this horrid event that will forever engraved in their hearts.

Good morning!

Yes, the Texas school shooting is a tragedy. It strikes close to my heart, as my Ethan is that age. Many prayers for those families and this nation, that we may become less divisive and allowing all to peaceably have their voices heard.

Oh I have stories of the bake off with Ethan. Ethan's teacher used the home-ec classroom, as there are three full kitchen stations in there. So the class was divided into teams and went in to make their items. Ethan's team was well prepared. Sarah had written out instructions and had them attached in the cookbook using post it notes. Ethan had made the whole recipe before at home, so he understood how to do everything. Well, the heat of battle got in the way and the team slightly under baked the brownies. Ethan's team was being rushed by the next team needing the space. That contributed to under baking. Ethan also told me he forgot to grease the baking pan. Now the chaos began with the other teams. Most of the kids never had any experience in the kitchen, let alone baking. One team melted chocolate and proceeded to drop the entire glass bowl, full on the classroom rug, that's a mess. Then another was cooking a egg for something, on the burner, directly, no pan. Oh my! The home-ec teacher has now said - never again! Well, maybe again with some lessons on cooking before. The home-ex teacher, friend of Sandee, gave Sandee all the happening in her classroom kitchens. The teacher did tell Sandee that there was one group who had done well, instructions, etc, and then realized that Ethan was Sandee's nephew. The teacher then smiled and understood why the team did so well! They were prepared! The judging and results are today. Ethan had pictures of how they set out plates, napkins, forks and a glass of water for the judges in tasting their cream cheese raspberry swirled brownies. No pictures of the brownies, silly boy!

Not much else here. Time is getting closer for Daniel, he called, and we have Karlie's bed figured out. That's one less worry. And a space for Kari to set up her office. That will be over in my sewing space, where I have a extra machine for anyone who wants to come sew. It will be Kari's work desk for awhile. Today I am planning to sew.

Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Rainy day here, again. Our security cameras went off at the TX house last evening, from a heavy rain that was much needed.

Dr's appts today for us. I'm considering the calendar swap. Have an idea and will try before committing, not sure how long it will take to make a block.

Prayers do go out to the families and the whole town of Uvalde.
I'm angry at the media! This deranged young man killed his grandmother first, but you don't hear her mentioned in the sad numbers. There will be another NO GUNS push. I wonder if kids these days are telling the teacher the pencil spelled the word wrong, it's the pencil's fault. Off my soap box.

Good morning Everyone,
Well the double wedding ring quilt is finished and all folded for the time being I will have to give a good pressing before I send it and before that I have to literally find someone to quilt it because my longarmer and her partner who did it with her both retired.

So for now I'm washing clothes and am going to start giving my room a good cleaning over the weekend.

So sad about that shooting made me start thinking about the other shooting from 10 years ago.

Mary Q thank you for putting my quilt on here for me I really do appreciate.

Chriss, I'm sure you'll drop those few pounds quickly.
I gained a few on our trip. Eating out does that.

Jana, I bet that was a fun bake off between the kids.

Mary, I can leave my garden cuties out year round. If I had to put them out every spring, and put them away for winter, they wouldn't be in the yard.πŸ˜‹

Judi, what is the challenge with the FQ? Always looking for new things for guild.

I'm heading out this morning to go to a yarn shop with a friend. We started knitting in January. This is one of our side crafts other than quilting. I want to make a shawl.

But first Jack needs to walk me before we go.

Have a wonderful day.

Lyn: Last we heard was that the Grandmother is in critical condition but not dead. Still it's awful that this is happening! But NO GUNS isn't the answer either, yes, but something needs to be down to get guns away from sick, deranged persons. I don't have answers, but our lawmakers need to start working together. It's not the media's fault either. They are reporting the news.

Saying my prayers along with all of you. I wish there wasn't so much hate and evil in this world. πŸ˜ŸπŸ™

Good Morning Girls

What a shock to see the Texas news on the internet this morning. I never watch regular TV and had NO idea this happened yesterday! Such sadness for those families. Will be thinking of them all day and sending prayers for God's grace and comfort!

Maryz... My garage sale stuff was a little of both... craft things and junk! Most of the stuff I had left over went to Goodwill. Only brought home the craft stuff that didn't sell. I'm hoping my Janome machine is done at the shop so I can go pick it up today and get the binding sewn on. I like to use my walking foot for binding and I can't find the walking foot for my Elna. I'm still keeping my eyes open for your green fabric. I asked Viv and she didn't have it and believe me she KNOWS every thread of fabric in her shop!

Judi.... You are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in the basement? Has it really been a year! Probably doesn't seem like it to you, but that time has gone really fast!

Flo... Don't you love that you can find just about anything on Youtube! The boas are easy, the trick is getting the towel added to the ends of the fabric... it can get a little bulky there.

Diane... I too am heartbroken to hear the news in Texas... and I'm sure this event will haunt those families and officers for years to come. Let's pray that God will be comfort to them

Jana... Always such interesting stories from your house! I sure would hate to have been that home-ec teacher... like trying to round up a herd of cats!

Lyn... Oh gosh, I sure hope you join the Calendar swap! I have December and I'm debating on several idea.. made the mistake of looking on Pinterest and have now even MORE ideas---need to narrow it down just a bit!

Lois... Happy to help! Your quilt is gorgeous and one of these days... I just might try one myself... just not anytime soon!

Lori... You're a knitter too? Back in the day I knit a few sweaters. Now I just knit baby hats.. when I get bored doing hand embroidery.. I knit!

Well, the day I've long dreaded is here... I have to go to the Dentist. I've been putting it off for a while now.. and I keep reminding myself that it's really not as bad as I think. I'm so hoping my sewing machine is all done and ready for pick up so I can go get it after the DDS appt and then get groceries while I'm out. With gas at $4.24/gal I like to make my trips count. And once I have food in the house I won't to go anyplace for quite a while.

Coffee is cold so time for more! Wishing you all, a wonderful Wednesday

with prayers for Texas.
