Good morning Pals. Just a quicky to say hello and I hope you all have a fun and festive weekend. I am going to an Ornament Exchange tomorrow night. ALways FUN to go there especially when you get to steal an ornament. Only time when stealing is legal and you can sleep in your own bed peacefully at night.
I posted in the Swaps ... That is it time for me to, as Mary said pass the Lotto baton on. I hope you will go over and read this.Next year would have been #10. It has been a joy being your hostess. I am happy to say that Valerie is now able to take it back. It was a pleasure helping her when she needed it and now I am thrilled for her and will continue to support the Lotto as it is my Happy Place to make blocks and share them!!!
Have a Blessed and festive weekend.

Good morning everyone.
I hope everyone has a great day planned. I am hopefully going to get the Christmas decorations up. Plus finish hubbyโs quilt. Oh and squeeze in the laundry somewhere. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning to all.
Today I hope to do the lights outside. The houses around me are getting decked out for Santa, it looks so pretty at night. The inside is finished. My DD and DSIL with 2 GD's (12 and 15) fly here on the 23-late.
So they have a tree upstairs to do for themselves, along with other decorations for the t.v. room. We are very blessed to have a big house, plenty of space for all who visits. Can't wait for them to come. With Joe and Fran so close now-its a dream come true.
I hope everyone is having a great time this holiday season. Good memories and great hopes for the new year to come.

Good morning!
It will be a busy, fun day around here. It's haircut day for me. I haven't cut my hair in several years. It's long, down to the middle of my back, but will be cut off short, to just above my shoulders. Then after that this morning, Gracie and Lila are coming to make cut out sugar cookies and learn to decorate them. I will teach Gracie how to use a piping bag and tip and Lila will be the sprinkle girl. There is a trick to getting the sugar sprinkles to stick to the frosting, don't let the frosting dry before you sprinkle. We put the cookie in a box, and turn Lila loose with the bottle of sprinkles. After she has coated the cookie well, we shake off the excess, gather all that from the box and refill the sprinkle bottle, from the box,, ready to do it again! Works well! Gracie will make the cookie dough, roll it out and cutout the cookies. We will do just two shapes today - a Santa boot and a tree. Aaron knows how to do this and can make cookies at home with the girls. I taught him when he was little how to use a piping bag and tips.
I will do this same teaching with Emma on another day. Just a grandma and granddaughter thing.
And since Aaron is here , he will bring up more boxes, so I can unleash more Christmas! Last night, I started my fireplace mantel in the great room, aka, the family room. Got the garland hung, but need to re hang a section, the command hook didn't stick.
Added another couple of rows to my quilt and tonight while I watch Utah play for the conference championship, I hopefully will finish that assembly.
So it will be fun here!
Stay safe,
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning,
SUZETTE - if I'm not mistaken, today is your Birthday! Happy happy day to you! Do what makes you happy! And let there be cake! (white with chocolate frosting gets my vote!).
TERESA - sorry to see you are passing the lotto baton, but happy to see Valerie is taking it on.
VALERIE - thank you for taking on lotto! I know you'll do an excellent job for us all!
DIANE - You really are having a dream Christmas this year!
LOIS - we all need a 'free' day now and then. Enjoy, relax, recharge.
SHARONA - I missed that your son was having surgery. I'm glad all seems to be OK now. Congrats on new baby in your family! When is he due? Are you planning a quilt yet?
CHRISS - congratulations to you, too, on your big win! Who can't use 8 new key rings? One for each key and an extra for all the rings!
JUDI - such a timely reminder. Thank you! How is Liam? Did you get bindings on your scrappies?
MARY Q - I spent Christmas in Alaska with my 3 kids in 1985. It actually was kind of magical! Too bad you won't be in FBX or North Pole. You could go right to Santa's house - the biggest Christmas shop ever! But it does have Santa there! Is orange Bren's favorite color? Our Alec loves orange.
SHERRY - I hope you find the purrfect chair and that after you get it home, it's still purrfect! There's a difference between sitting in a chair in the store for 3 minutes and spending an entire evening in it when you get it home. Funny I've been thinking of Leah a lot lately, too. She was my Santa one year and she was a very sweet Santa. She even called me on Christmas Day! Her birthday was March 4th and she loved her cats. She passed away of cancer about 3 yrs ago.
LYN - we were just near Buchanan Lake! We know that area fairly well for Washingtonians! We've spent a lot of time in that area in the past 8 years. Usually in Georgetown at the Corps of Engineers parks. Is your new property actually on the lake or in a nearby town?
JANA - you have such sweet traditions in your family. When my younger sis and I were little, we often acted out the Christmas story, playing all the parts from the camels to the angel! Not sure we got the same effect that your ten grands will achieve! lol! Happy cookie making!
VALERIE - you have a lot of sewing going on in your house! I've never gone to a 'free sew' before. You may have to quit your job. It might crowd your sewing time!
FLO - I hope your truck is fixed this weekend!
BECCA - at home, I can find most things I want at the grocery store, but we stopped yesterday at HEB, the big grocery chain here in TX and found many of the shelves scantily stocked, most notably pasta. Nearly bare shelves!
VELDA - Love the pic of your tree in the window. And the box underneath it looks quite interesting. But was the box still full . . . . .
JUDI - you may be in luck - there is a quilt shop about 3 miles from our RV park. Maybe they have Christmas plaids. I know I have 'points' from shopping there quite a bit last year.
We did arrive at our RV park yesterday. That's the good news. The bad news is that they are repaving the park and we can't drive on it for 2 days so we can't get into our site so we had to take a 'lesser' site in another part of the park. it's smaller and unlevel and the table is cracked and warped from the sun but there is a very friendly little calico kitty that visits us. We should be able to get into our correct site tomorrow. And even though we've been vaccinated and boostered, we did get Covid tests yesterday since we will be seeing Autumn at her house tonight and both she and Antonio work with kids and other vulnerable people. With the new variants out and about we want to be extra careful. Today we will probably do laundry and clean the trailer. I don't want to set up sewing or Christmas decorations until we are settled in our correct site and have cleaned our little pigsty so that's the plan today.
Happy Sewing!

Good Morning,,it is snowing again here but nothing is sticking that I can see,,,,it is dark. I stripped and remade the bed this morning,,,and I have a busy day planned, I have 3 packages to mail 2 to my granddaughter in maine, one is an amazon return. I also need to pick up my wool coat from the dry cleaners.
I also need to pick up gift cards. and get them written out,,,all the big people get gift cards, anyone over 18. My guys will bring up the tree and I will get it done this weekend and the halls are decked so it will be baking and cooking from here on in,
Our adventure to Canada was a great success. No probems getting over the border or the return trip...the agents were friendly and kind and the people of Canada were gracious and friendly. FYI my husbands family is half southern and half canadian, He was told although he has never done it that he qualifies for duel citizenship.
Wll I should get coffee and dress this mess...hope your day is blessed. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good Morning! Wow we are up early today! Oh, you are a busy bunch today.
Sorry to loose you, Teresa, you have been a wonderful coach for me. Welcome Valerie, it will be nice to have you lead us in the new year.
Maryz: hey, now, do you really think I peeked early into my box??? Never!!!

. I am counting down the days and anticipation runs HIGH!
Lots of family visits coming soon. Hope all will be very joyful!! Maryz, how great that you are being extra careful for you kids with getting tested. With this new variant, it's still so uncertain.
Don't know what I will be busy with today. I always find plenty to fill my days
More coffee

Good morning everyone! and Happy Friday! Need to get my car serviced as I am turning in my work car next week and will be using my private car. Want to start fresh.
Teresa glad to hear you are going to make some time for yourselves. Our last few conversations and especially my last visit have certainly showed me it is time for you. And Rob bless his heart. I can see him slowing down. I am hoping the trip to AZ gives you much rest and relaxation.
Lois sometimes when I run the heater at night I wake up stuffy. Glad to hear it seems to have cleared.
Suzette have a great day no matter what you do.
Diane hope you will post your decorations in the thread in Photos. I am really enjoying looking at them.
Jana sounds like a great day with the girls.
Maryz sure do wish I could quit the job and remain financially sound. If anyone has ideas on how to accomplish this please pass on the info. Free sew is fun. It's usually around 8 girls or so who meet the the LQS and we sew from 10:30 to 4:30. We bring our own projects and work on whatever we like. Since it is free there is no help from the staff (or so they say) but lots of help from each other. If the days are consecutive, we just leave everything overnight and start back up the next morning. My goal this month is to get my Dresden Plate ready for the quilter. I think some days we socialize more than sew but that is okay too.
Judi I think I am doing gift cards this year too. The kids will not be here and my daughter will be in Santa Barbara so a quiet Christmas.
Vel I will coach as best I can. I am into simple, easy, no stress quilting. We will not be doing anything too terribly hard. Need to keep it fun!
I am supposed to see a patient today for my day job but have not heard back from the facility she is at. Will give one more call this AM and see if they respond. If not, guess it will be a missed visit. My other day patient has gone to the mountains with her family. So great that her family was able to do that for her. Can't wait to hear her stories.
Other than that, not much new. Patiently waiting for opening day, well maybe. It gets harder as the days go by! Off for more coffee

Good morning!
I started feeling a wee bit achy last night - still have it but thankfully nothing more than that. Our great-grandson is due the first week of May. I will be doing some sort of minky quilt for him. DS1 called me a couple of times after surgery. I asked him about pain meds and he said they told him to alternate Norco with Advil - I had to gently correct him and said it was probably Tylenol. He unfortunately doesn't remember what the doc told him when he first came out of the anesthesia (who does!), so I hope it is written down somewhere. With covid rates being so high, no one was allowed with him. His wife had to drop him off, wait for the doc to call, and then pick him up at the door.
Suzette - have a wonderful birthday.
I hope yall have a glorious day! xoxo Sharona
