Post by grammiequilts » Mon Oct 11, 2021 3:48 am

Good morning,,,Good monday,,,today I will have lunch with 2 of my sisters...I was able to see them all at the shower yesterday and it was good. Youngest lives in Florida and flew in for a short visit, we will have lunch before she goes to the airport today, my other sister who also quilts will join us. We dont have time to hit a quilt shop but Donna was gifted with bags of fabric and quilting items from a lady who no longer wants to quilt...she had lots of kits and panels and a few notions...and several cheater quilt panels...and some yardage I suppose she was going to use for backing, what we dont use will be donated to the guild. Its like trick or treat for quilters...
Changing the sheets on the bed and added a down comforter,,We used to have one and it wore out so I ordered a new one...we shall see how Ken likes it. I have a quilt on the bed too.. must have a quilt.
Well I need to get my self in gear....hope you all ahave a great day XXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOO PS did you ever wonder about the number of views on a post....sometimes 200 views but only maybe 15 posts,,,,who are all these people who read our stuff but dont join in....it is a mystery to me

Good morning it is Monday and I am human finally Friday DH and I went back and got retested both of us came up negative so I was able to go to church Sunday play piano what a rejoiceful day I’ve really missed church I’ve been out for two weeks. I really don’t understand how people don’t get comfort in church and serve a living Lord 🥰

I haven’t done any quilting per se but I did get the last three months of my block of the month farm girl vintage quilt blocks cut out so now I can finish hand sewing those together 😊

I have been working on the Crosstitch top for the quilt the customer brought me so I do work on that at night.

I finally get to go to piano lessons tonight hopefully it’s been a month since I’ve had a lesson between me being sick and she suffers from migraines it’s been a terrible month

Started pulling some stuff for my secret Santa ooo this is so much fun 🤩

Hope everyone out there that’s been sick is feeling better some of this credit and believable and hits us in so many different ways so all of you are in my prayers keep safe keep healthy

Little man is back today his mama tested positive Covid last week also so I think she still home but is doing better. My son and little man have been staying away from her. He quarantined her to the back bedroom. 😂😂

Hugs 🤗 prayers 🙏 happy stitches 🧵

Hi Judi and Izzy Judi, what a fun thing, to go through gifted fabric. It's so fun to sort through colors and patterns and designs. Yes, just like trick or treat for quilters. Well said. ☺️
Love that you got to spend time with sisters.
Izzy, so happy to hear from you. Glad you are feeling well. I know it hard to believe that people wouldn't want to be in church. Fellowship, and just feeling blessed and comforted. Watching on Facebook Live for two weeks was ok, but I really miss being there in person.
You sure have been busy, even during your illness. Glad DD was spared the virus. Nice to have William back again, I bet.
DH and I will drive to next big town to go to Joanne's later this morning. I have a $5 coupon to use. Want to get some colored flannel and a few fat quarters of fall fabrics to make 1 or 2 Lotto blocks for this month.
Plans are being made already for family to attend our granddaughter's graduation from boot camp. DH and I are going to our son's to sit with the dog. Our son and his new girlfriend are renting a car and will drive to SC, Parris Island leaving on Nov 1. They are getting so excited! Our other two sons, also former Marines are planning to attend as well since they both live on east coast. What a happy day that will be. Our first Lady Marine in our family!
We are so proud of this!
Well coffee is getting cold. Need to run.
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Good morning,

JUDI - what happy times with your sisters! And fabric, etc to boot! Hope you took pictures!

VELDA - congratulations to your whole family, but especially to your DGD. How proud you must be! I wish you could go to the ceremony, too, but grand-dogs have needs, too. I remember going to our SIL's graduation from Marine boot camp in Pendleton. It was amazing!! I hope they take a lot of photos. And so your DS has a new girlfriend? Tell us all about it! :D

IZZY - good to see you back with us. Glad you are finally over it. Can't believe you were able to get so much done even while sick. This disease is so contagious and with all the variants, even the vaccines are having a hard time keeping up. We stay away from any place where people congregate.

BECCA - house cleaning day?? Not here. I'm subscribing to Chriss's policy on that!

And speaking of CHRISS - you tested positive?!? Bummer!! So glad you had the vaccine! I have yet to hear any stories of anti-vax patients in the hospital saying they are so glad they didn't get the vaccine. Our 9-yr=old great-nephew, plays on a sports team. One of the parents had Covid but sent his kid to practice anyway and the kid infected the entire team and now all those families are in quarantine for 2 weeks, along with other households they have been in contact with - like grandparents. No one can go to work, to school, to the store, etc. Because one stupid person sent his kid to practice even though the kid had been exposed. Now Bill's sister & DBIL (grandparents) have to be quarantined and tested (though they are vaccinated). They already have medical issues (and it was her birthday!) and just don't need this. The ripple effect of one thoughtless action is really startling. I hope you are all better soon!

Bill finished quilting my second Halloween swap quilt yesterday. He really poured the coal on to get these quilts finished for the boys. I got bindings on and called our grandsons to see if we could deliver them. They were on a flight to Virginia to see their parents for a week! Arghh! They return next Sunday but we are scheduled to go camping again next Monday, though a good chance we might cancel that trip. Timing!

Now I'm working to get all the paper piecing blocks on my Alaska quilt finished so I can take my machine in for service on Wed. - turnaround is about 3 weeks they say. PP is so much easier on my good machine because it has a thread cutter. My back-up machine works just fine but doesn't cut the thread. Makes PP a bit of a headache. The good machine is going to Texas with me this winter, along with the LOTR blocks - which are ALL PP. So that's my plan for today. I've also been doing a few things each day to sort out my misc craft cabinet, back pantry, my dresser, and other things I'm not using that I've been hanging on to without giving much thought to them. All of these things are rocks in my backpack of life and I'm trying to lighten my load a bit and help out others who could maybe use this stuff. Just a little bit each day.

Now, it's time for another cuppa joe.

Piece!

Good morning!

My patient is still asleep. Making very slow progress. He is quite weak and uses a walker to get to the bathroom. Hopefully today I can get more food in him. He munched on cookies and milk yesterday.

Not much more to report from here. The home nurse is coming this morning to check on things.

Maryz is so right about how this virus is so contagious! Take all kinds of precautions to stay Safe. It is nothing to take lightly!

Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls

Another whirlwind weekend around here... so obviously I didn't make it here to check in and chat! Kids are off to school and I think Kris is lounging in her room, so it's nice and quiet here. Looks like a beautiful day and the leaves are turning such beautiful colors out my window. I don't think they will last much longer tho, as we have had a few strong winds lately... soon they will all be on the ground!

Judi.... Can't say I'm a huge fan of baby showers etc anymore either... I think it was a lot more fun when I was young and having babies   But for you it was a good chance to see family and I suppose that made it all worthwhile!

Izzy.... SO SO glad to hear you are feeling human again! Did your DD get sick at all! Is she still able to go to her school/daycare now? I hope your DDIL has some good books or something to do while she's quarantined... I don't know but I think I'd go nuts laying in bed ALL day...

Velda..... Do you have the Joann App on your phone? If not, check it out.. there's always coupons there too! For a minute there I thought you were going to be traveling for the Grand daughter's graduation, but then I re-read and see you are dog sitting! Congratulations to your DGD...

Becca... Cleaning here too.. just can't decide where to start... Or if I should ignore and go sew instead, though my sewing room is a huge mess and I'm not sure I can even get at my machine.

Maryz..... "Rocks in the backpack of life" Love that... I'm going to remember that. It's not just for the material stuff we have around us that makes our lives heavy... it's the mental stuff... resentments, and unnecessary grudges and hurts of the past that can weigh us down. I think I'm carrying some extra rocks I need to get rid of.

Jana... SO SO glad to hear that Michael is home. That virus must have hit him really really hard! But it's such wonderful news that he is home. I just know you must be ecstatic! I've thought of him often! How are the kids doing?

Chriss.... WHAT????? you tested positive??? Where in the heck did you get exposed???? Hard to tell I bet. With the vaccine I hope your symptoms are really wild. Seems that it can vary a bit even with the shot. My niece was vaccinated and got terribly sick, but her DH was + and never got sick at all! Are you quarantined? We just all got over nasty colds and coughs here.

So it's Monday.... a new start to the week, a blank slate.... Lots to do, since I did NOTHING over the weekend. Saturday Peg and I went to a huge outdoor craft fair. Lots of cute things.. none of which I needed--more stuff! Somethings I can do, like fancy dish towels etc. I did buy a darling pair of those legging pants for Evie for Christmas and a couple really neat books, that a gal and her husband make... like a new address book and calendar for next year. Yesterday Evie and I went up to the big craft store in St. Cloud. She had some money burning a whole in her pocket and loves doing those Diamond Art things so she picked out one. And of course I couldn't get out of there without a little fabric... the had some really nice stuff for 40% off and I found some pretty orange flannel to make Shawn and Brennen shirts for Christmas.

After another cup of coffee I'm headed down stairs to wash up the fabric, and it's time to wash my sheets. My ADD has kicked in big time and I have 5 projects I'm in the middle of so I need to tame them this morning and try to concentrate on just one at a time!

so... off I go... Wishing you all A Marvelous Monday

Good morning all! Happy Columbus Day! I refuse to say happy indigenous Americans day. Got some cleaning to do today. Also need to call the girls on my list for our Class of '65 luncheon next week. Several of us get together about every three months and have lunch. It is so nice since most of us don't run around together.

This afternoon will be going to the junior varsity game for Fairview to see my grandson John play. He is the center for the team. I think this is their last one for the year but not sure. I really enjoy seeing him play.

This weekend Smoke and I will be going to Elkhart to see Rob and Sadie. It will be nice to get away for a couple of days. While there I want Rob to take me to the casino. Haven't been to one in over 2 years. I am not a big better and I usually play the slots but it is fun. He usually plays poker and he is quite good usually winning alot more times than he loses.

Well better go get some lunch. Have a good day everyone and stay safe.

Good morning all!
Judi, how fun to have trick or treating like that! My kind too 🎃
Izzy, so glad you're feeling so much better!
Velda, I imagine you all are excited for your DGD, I hope lots of pics and videos are taken so you don't miss it too much.
Becca, haven't you been reading Chriss' posts on cleaning? LOL I'm afraid I'm going to be ugly today because I need to vacuum, dust and do bathrooms.... hopefully it won't make me sick too 🤣😂
Maryz, I feel the same exact way. I lost my aunt 2 weeks ago who was only 66 years old and she was fully vaccinated. We've lost 3 now in my family to covid, 2 of those were before the vaccine was available and so so many others got it and some went through the long haul and on ventilators and barely made it. We were all vaccinated as kids, we vaccinated our kids.... probably more vaccines than we were given and our grandkids have all been vaccinated but with even more vaccines than us or our kids or even parents. Yes vaccines research has changed, thankfully. It doesn't take as long now to come up with vaccines as it used to but that's because our research scientists have more technology than they did back when. I see all these commercials with medicines every single day that say they can have side affects and yadda yadda yadda even death..... but without the meds you'll die anyways 🤷‍♀️ I prefer to put my trust in the research scientists that are trying to help everyone. But that's me 🤷‍♀️
Jana, I sure hope Micheal stays on the getting better every day path 🙏
Florida, that's how my days go when I help outside.
Maryq, sounds like you had a really really fun weekend!
Sherry, I really miss going to games but we went to a high school football game a few weeks ago..... those cement bleachers have gotten harder 🤣😂 we only lasted till halftime. Sherry, I'm part Cherokee, I don't observe indigenous peoples day, I observe Columbus day.
Well I have Jazmyne, Easton and Preston today, it's in-service day for teachers so the kids get the day off. I'm going to vacuum, dust and clean bathrooms I guess LOL it needs to be done but I wonder if I should wait till tomorrow? Hmmmmmm..... we're going to have Matthew stay the night Thursday and then these 3 again Friday LOL it's going to be a fun filled grandkids kinda week.
You all have a great day! Please stay safe. Prayers for those in need.
Tina
