Good morning Lois,,,,I was up with Ken this morning,,,a fire truck went by our house at 530...no sirens but lots of lights...dont know where he went but it set off my ring doorbell. I can review the video and see them go by...then as I was getting a cuppa coffee a GIANT wolf spider crawled out from behind a cup in the sink giving me a "OMG! moment", luckily my son was home and he carried it out side...( he doesnt kill them) I dont need anymore excitement at this hour of the morning, I have a bit of laundry to do then Costco with my sister and lunch out with her. Hope you all have a great day,,,,,XXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning to all.
A wolf spider at any time sounds spooky. I have never heard of them and from your OMG--don't want to see them around here. Why wouldn't you kill it? Of course, being the chicken I am-I'd scream for hubby LOL

Yesterday, Pat the other Diane and I sorted all the wow together in piles and marked the selvages for the size. A lot of that will go to Kathleen's for future kits. We're still all working on sampler blocks from the last shipment and have over 40-12 inch finished blocks done. They are sewn when you have a few minutes extra. So, when we are done with these I'll let you know how many tops were made.

Today, washer drier from Lowes-refrigerator from Home Depot are being delivered to kids house. If timing is right between 2 to 6. Hubby is doing the under cabinet lights and a few closets that need light-as a surprise for them. He'll do that and I'll put binding and label on a qov that Pat finished quilting.

Off to get rear in gear with the help of coffee. Enjoy this day.
Diane

Good morning,

I woke up early again. It's getting to where my usual get up time of 0500 is sleeping in anymore! It confuses the furkids. But I do get an early start on my day!

LOIS - How fun to be called upon to work on Olivia's costume! It sounds adorable. Whatcha' makin' for your Elf? I promise I won't tell . . . . ;) I saw your dinosaur quilt on FB. It's so cute! And what??! No color in your hair? I love streaks of color- though I don't have any right now.

JUDI - That spider probably woke you up pretty good!! lol! I relocate them, too. They have a right to live - just not in my house, please. That was thoughtful of the fire truck to silence the siren, though I thought if they were rolling to a fire lit up, they had to run the siren. Have fun at Costco today. Our Costco has most of their Christmas stuff out now. Even a couple trees. But they were out of the rolling metal shelving racks that we went for yesterday. But they did have large Christmas doormats for $10. We got the one with the red pick-up and tree in the back. That's kinda our thang.

CHRISS - We all need a life-long project. Yours is now that Halloween Baltimore album! What a score you made in that thrift shop. You are set up for a lifetime of sewing now! Does Marilyn like sewing at all? And I really know nothing at all about it, but I think you are right about convection ovens/air fryers being basically the same thing except for size. I never knew that! What did you find out about vitamins? Years ago I was told one way to check for vitamin absorption is to drop them into a glass of water. If they dissolve in 15 min., your body will absorb it more quickly than ones that pass on through. Don't know if that's true, and of course, it matters what's IN the vitamins. You are only on a LOW carb diet, right? Not a NO carb diet. We need some carbs.

MARY Q - I love springer spaniels! Of course, I love all dogs, though I'm more partial to bigger ones. You are going to miss her when she (or you!) moves! I need to get me a Shawn. I have stuff all over this house that seems right in his wheel house - cleaning, reorganizing, lifting . . . Did you two rearrange your sewing room yet?

SHARONA - I think you have a revolving door in your house! You are always whooshing somewhere. I hope the dental appt is just for a cleaning.

SHERRY - I looked up your pattern. It's really cute! Pattern is all black/white it said in the blurb. My eyes prefer color patterns these days. I did Frederick the Literate about 5 years ago for Autumn, my cat-loving librarian daughter.

JANA - We keep saying Aaron needs to keep a journal and one day write a book! Wow! I can't believe some of the stuff people do. You're right - they walk among us.

KATY - I hadn't heard shipping costs were going up, but I know regular first class stamps went up a few weeks ago. We bought "Forever" padded envelopes to return swap blocks just in case. I didn't even know they were a 'thing' until DH saw them on the "stamps" website.

Yesterday I printed off the rest of the LOTR patterns I needed and then copied them onto my foundation paper. (I started out using regular copy paper, but QIAD had Carol Doak's foundation paper on sale so I ordered it and it really works much better!) I have a brunch date with a friend this morning. Then I have to stop and pick up some cards and our mail. I also hope to piece two quilt backs together today, clean up my sewing room, plan what sewing I want to take camping, and pack some things into the trailer. I know the day will fill up fast. They always do!

Put some fun in your day! You'll never have this day again, so enjoy!

I am arachnaphobic I hate spiders,,,(My son says they are beneficial to the environment) I scream and jump up and down and run from the room. A wolf spider is very very big,,,its body can be an inch or inch and a half long and the legs another 2 inches,,,,making it and OMG! They generally( im not sure who said this) dont bite...( im not taking any chances on that one either) Since they are native here there is a chance you can run into them in Michigan, I cant even get close enough to kill one I scream (literally) for ken or my son...If no one is home I try to cover them with a bowl or something till I can find someone to get them out of the house...xxxxx

Good morning!

Sort of up, mostly just hiding under a snggly warm quilt. The sun is still sleeping in, no signs of him yet.

Tamed my kitchen yesterday. It was a adventure with eggs in there. I was fixing breakfast, had two eggs in hand, trying to crack the first one, bumped the bowl, it started to fall to the floor, grabbed to stop the fall and proceeded to break both the eggs, splat on the floor- mynice newly washed and waxed floor. The bowl was saved and didn't fall and break. Then while getting dinner made, I dropped a third egg on the floor, in front of the refrigerator- definitely not my day for handling eggs! No eggs today in recipes, I don't need to drop any more! LOL!

Diane - thanks for the tip of marking the selvage edge with the amount! Such a great idea! I have large chunks of fabrics and each time I go through looking to see if I have enough, I use the old fashioned quick method of holding it from tip of nose to end of arm method. Then refolding the fabric. Your way is better!

Ethan and I put out my Fall/Halloween decorations yesterday. I have a cute tole painted scarecrow,, so Ethan arranged my collection of pumpkins around the scarecrow. I also have a cute tole painted witch, so with her, he put all my other little witches and ghosts. He paid attention to things that went together. In the front living room, is all the Thanksgiving themed things. Ethan will be back today to hang up all the quilts and skinnies. The bribe for all this, dinner and Disneyland money. I am good with that!

Today will be sewing in the Batt Cave. Maybe I can be productive.

Do fun things!
Hugs,
Jana

I just want to stop by and say Good Morning. We were going to go to our son's today, but postponed the trip. DH is not feeling up to par. No temperature, or any Covid symptoms, but just no energy. Also had a knee that flares up now and then from an old injury. So maybe we can go another day. Our grandson is home on leave, so I really want to see him. Is permanent duty station will be in Arizona. Might be a long while until next leave.
Hope to either sew or sort things in sewing area. Not sure what will take priority. Still thinking about SS. Not sure if I want to sew something or put together a fabric kit and pattern. Well, that's the fun..... planning and making up a special package. 🤗
Hope everyone has a good day.
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Good morning, I do believe it's really truly fall. there are dark clouds in the not quite sunny yet sky. the leaves on the trees are moving ever so slightly. Every window is open in the house which requires a quilt both on the bed and over my lap while I sit here talking with you. And, I am wearing my warm slippers. It's a great way to start the day.

After taking the kids to school I will get started on my SS plan. I think I may have an actual plan, we will see how it goes. I would also like to check out the farmers market in town this morning, Jerry will likely go with me. I would rather go alone because I need to get some
things at the drug store and don't want to be rushed.

I received some spooktacular pot holders as a teaser gift from my Secret Santa in yesterday's mail. I am so happy with them. They have already been put to use. Thank you Santa, I really have no clue who you are and believe me when I say I have looked at the list of those who have signed up.

Lois, so nice you have the talent to alter clothing. I, in no way, could do that without researching You Tube. Olivia has a cool grandma.

Judi, Not sure that spider would have lived here. I agree, you've had your weeks worth of excitement today.

Diane, you are smart to write the fabric size on the selvage. I never though of that. Bet those kids are super excited to get to live in their new home.

Maryz, I didn't know forever padded envelopes were a thing either. No, Mar isn't into sewing. She is into other crafty things. Jewelry making, painting, drawing, music. Yep, I do low carb. Vitamins have to be no sugar and I want to be sure to get the most of the daily percentages without taking 10 pills each day. As for the Baltimore Album, Not sure I will ever do it. Maybe but not sure. I wish it weren't a Halloween BA. but I couldn't pass up the deal.

Becca, I have to fun into town too. If I see you there we could have brunch? wouldn't that be fun.

Jana, eggs aren't your friend this week. Nice of Ethan to be your helper.

Velda, I am hoping you get to see DGS soon, prayers taht DH feels better. As for the SS gift, I am wondering about putting together a kit VS making something too. I was thinking that if she doesn't like the pattern I choose she could use the fabric elsewhere.

Need to get dressed and get next door, my duties start in 8 minutes.
