Good morning, Lois. That does sound like a great day with your girls. Glad you sold some of your things too.
I had a pretty good day, too. Weather was so nice. We have some more hot weather coming for this week, fall is on it's way.
Better go get my shower so my hair can dry before time for church. Going to start going to Monday noon "sack lunch" bible study at church. Always wanted to join this group. Now that I live right by the church, I can walk over to the church, I feel like I have no excuse. πŸ˜‰
Catching up a bit on the readings to prepare was great for me as well. I need to just make time to read in my Bible every single day. My DH does so we'll, but I let myself get side tracked. Joining a group of ladies will encourage me even more.
Have a great day sewing 🧡πŸͺ‘, or doing anything relaxing.
Safe travels, Judi. Hope you found lots of goodies at the shops. Hope the house won't be too bad in dust either.
HUGS, πŸ’• Vel

Good morning,

LOIS - I bet that was a fun day for you! I did that once - my DD, Lara, belonged to a craft group and I was invited to sew as many things as I could and sell them at their holiday bazaar. I got to work with her that weekend. And you're right - it's not about the money, but about time spent with my DD, being included in her world.

VAL - congratulations on your new machine! I hope it gives you a lot of years of fun! Enjoy your trip to Teresa's.

TINA - I can smell those wonderful chilies from here! I even did a few chilies myself - 7 to be exact. I'm not the pro you are!

CHRISS - enjoy that bacon! I wish someone would cook breakfast in this house, especially bacon. Thank you for the prayers for my nephew & wife. I am told they've turned a corner and seem to be improving. My DD, Autumn, has already gotten a booster because she has asthma. Her doctor is very cautious and said she needed the extra protection. We'll be getting it, too, as soon as it's available and our 8 months are up - first week of Nov. Oh, go ahead and pester MARY Q about your elf! I think she likes it! I just updated my hints - again - this morning.

SHERRY - this is where I got my LOTR patterns. They are all foundation paper pieced. I have 14 blocks finished. I think they're about 42 for LOTR. This is the only pattern I was able to find and at first thought, "no way!" But then I thought, why not at least try. So I did. I've done PP before but always have to re-teach myself. They also have a lot of other patterns - Harry Potter, Dr. Who, Hobbits, Etc. All free.
http://www.fandominstitches.com/2011/05/hobbitlotr.html

JANA - I have heard the second verse of our national anthem before but only once. Thanks for sharing that.

MARY Q - Is there room to stack totes of fabric floor to ceiling against one wall of your sewing room? I would hate my fabric to be in the garage, especially with winter coming. Here it would get damp and musty. Ahh, can you smell Tina's chilies? Remember, chilies and peppers are not the same thing. Chilies are wonderful for making all kinds of things. I love them! Costco sells diced chilies in big jars. I fill small containers and freeze them so they are handy for recipes. They aren't New Mexico fresh, but still really good.

VELDA - how is your quilt coming along? We were camping in a canyon in eastern WA on 9/11 and had no cell coverage. We'd been in Alaska that summer for two months with my brothers, and had just crossed the Canadian border back into WA on 9/10. We we got out of that canyon that morning, my phone was full of messages from my DD to call her.

JUDI - well, today is home-going day. Your trip went fast! Were you gone two weeks or just one? I thought you said it was going to be two, but it only seemed like one. Did you get your slippers and sweatshirt? I hope you don't find too much drywall dust to clean. But at least it's hung! Do you think they mudded it, too? Or is that next? Please don't talk fall yard clean-up. The leaves are endless here!

Yesterday I finished "Smaug" and also got two more blocks done. I appliqued the "White tree of Gondor". The pattern offered a choice of PP or applique. There was no contest!!

Today I'll put a few more things in the trailer fridge, make an apple crisp and a potato salad to take along, run a load of clothes, clean master bath, and sew another block if time. We need to hitch up our trailer and move it to the front yard. We have a Boondocker, a single 68-yr-old lady, coming in this afternoon and the Boondocker site blocks us in if someone is parked there. We leave in the morning but will be back Friday.

Y'all have a great Sunday!
Go, Hawks!

Good morning!

I was greeted by our little neighborhood rooster crowing and a stinky skunk! Eeeeeew! The joy of living in the edge of wildlife space. The sun is about to peek over the mountains too. It rained off and on yesterday morning and bucketed on the BYU game last night. It was a great day for my teams! Giants won and so did BYU. So I sewed while watching the games. Got a few things done.

Church is a tad bit later this morning. After church, Ethan will want to come and make cookies to share. I think that maybe it will be peanut butter cookies today.

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Good Very Chilly Morning..............

We might have rain to night. Yesterday started off so chilly I just had to bake some bread. Perfect day for it.

The repairwoman that repaired my washer a week ago is coming back to fix it again.

Nothing else happening here. I'll try to do something exciting today.

Love & Prayers.................Kathy

Good Morning Girls

Got up this morning to a bit of a chill in the house... so it's a sweatpants day! Feels pretty darn good actually! So much better than sweating to death!

Lois.... So fun to hear that you sold a lot at the craft fair. But so true that time with the girls is much more fun! Am curious... what kind of things did you make and sell? Viv and I were thinking about doing a little craft boutique at the garage sale next year in Wisconsin. Wondering what kinds of things sell.

Judi... How cool to see a freighter go through the locks!!! I remember my Dad taking us to Ste St. Marie when I was a kid.. we were on our way home from a month long trip to the east coast. When I drive along the Mississippi River to Wisconsin I see lots of barges and boats, but have never see them go through the locks along the way

Velda... How cool you've found a ladies group so close to home. My Mom was in the same bible study group for more than 20 years. What great friendships she made over those years.

Maryz.. So what did you sell at Lara's craft bazaar? Am thinking maybe I might try aprons or placemats? We'll see how the winter goes, whether I'll be moving or not before I make any big plans.!
Oh how I wish I could keep all my fabric in the sewing room. I'll text you a picture of my sewing room and you'll see why that won't work. I can barely walk around in there right now. I'm trying to keep the stuff I'm hoping to work on over the next few months close at hand.

Flo... Holy Moly... You've been washing a LOT of clothes!!! Where did all of them come from?

Jana... As much as I love peanut butter, I won't ask you to share your cookies with me    Now if you were making Oatmeal with Choc. Chips... I'd be there in a heart beat!

Kathy... Ok so, do you make bread from scratch too? I think the only time I've done it is when we were so broke I had no money to go buy bread and found some yeast in the cupboard! I do like to make bread with those frozen loaves once in a while. Bet your house will just smelled lovely!

Not sure what today will bring.... the boys got up at 0500 to go fishing, so it's just me and the girls here this morning. Kris and Evie ran to the bakery so I think I'll go see what treats they brought home.. and grab some more coffee!

Wishing you all a Super Sunday

Good morning my beautiful friends. It's going to be a beautiful day today.

the morning has started out with crisp cool weather. All the windows are open and there is a gorgeous quilt on my lap.

Today the plan is to try on the clothes in my closet. Some fit some don't. It's downsize the closet day here. My next downsize rooms will be Marilyn's bathroom and the laundry room. Starting small and working my way up to the bigger rooms.

The plan is to empty out the stuff we no longer use. Take pictures to see if Marilyn wants any of it. Call the next door neighbor to see if she wants the rest and whatever is leftover will go to the thrift store.

Lois, sounds like you had the perfect Saturday. what fun. Now you can get busy and make more things for the next craft show.

Judi, I can't wait to hear how wonderful the drywall looks. have a safe trip home.

Velda, sack lunch bible study sounds perfect. And how cool to be in walking distance of the church. It's those squirrels, they run by and distract a person from what they are doing. There are squirrels here too. Your piano key border is going to be beautiful

Maryz, yay for your nephew and wife, hope they continue to improve. I have read and re-read my hints. I think I have them perfected now. Isn't it silly how much work we put into the SS swap? it's my very favorite and I am so glad Tina is filling in as Maryq retires. If you take those chili's and slice them lengthwise and fill them like a boat with taco makin's you will have low carb taco's. yum. Knowing you are a monopoly fan Jerry just showed me this. https://www.amazon.com/Monopoly-Ms-Mono ... 534&sr=8-1

Flo, are the kids taking everything you are washing or leaving you with a pile to donate. I can't imagine doing that much wash. I bet they appreciate your hard work, you do a lot for your kids, they are blessed.

Jana, I love the smell of peanut butter cookie day. It is so nice to come into the house when something good is in the oven and inhale.

Kathy, oh gosh, I haven't had bread in over a year. What kind do you bake. I think it's Judi who also bakes bread. Glad you had rain, we had a very little the other day, just enough to clean the sky. Wish I was there, we could get into trouble together.

Sherry, here high school football games are often canceled due to Covid. two weeks after July 4th we had an increase in cases. And we just had the county fair over labor day which will likely show an increase in cases in a couple of weeks. it's crazy

Maryq, I would love to be able to go townhouse shopping with you. Once you sell your house you will have extra funds to help purchase the town house and you may find you can afford just a little more than you thought you could. I'd like to see a picture of your sewing room.
A fun topic would be "what would you make to sell at a craft fair" thanks for understanding my excitement for SS. and since you are understanding let me just say. Waiting is the hardest part. I am counting the days and strumming my fingers and tapping my food in anticipation. it's my most favorite thing to do on this forum and I am just anxious, maybe even a little impatient. I read all the hints and wonder what I would do for each person if they were my elf. I go over my hints and edit them where needed. I am just as excited as I was when I was about 8 years old and got not only a Chrissy doll but a Velvet doll too. Yes, the SS swap is really that big. Phew, I got that out of my system.   Thanks Mary, for being the head Santa for so long.

Well girls, I hope you all have the best Sunday ever.

Chriss, I am quite a bit older than you. My fashion doll was Revlon doll. And my other "little girl" doll was Besty McCall. OMG! That brings back a lot of memories!
I do remember Chrissy from the 1970's. By then I was having my first baby. LOL.
How neat to have a doll with same name as you. πŸ€—
