Friday, June 11

Post by suzette58 » Fri Jun 11, 2021 1:40 am

Good morning everyone.
We had some whopper rain storms last night. When I took the dogs out this morning the rain had beat up some of our plants out back. Later this morning we are going to get a new sewing machine for me to quilt on. I had bought a Pfaff a couple of years ago and the throat space is not big enough. I think that is what has messed up my shoulder. So, a friend of mine is a big Baby Lock fan and told me about a dealer in Charlotte, NC. So we are going to be on our way in a few hours. I am off to get a second cup of coffee. I hope everyone has a great day.

Shirley Mae - I am glad Rod is doing better and is home.

Laundry day here. We like to get there early. Usually have the whole place to ourselves.
Going to be extra HOT here, so going to get outdoor things done before noon.
Hope you all have a great weekend. Prayers all around our quilting circle.
Hugs
Vel
PS : Suzette, have fun shopping for new machine.

Good morning ladies well it’s my last day of work I have about six reports to write for kids that I did testing on so that will take most of the morning but once I get those all completed I can file them in my drawer for next years meetings so that makes me feel accomplished I don’t see any kids today it’s the last day just paperwork

Got in the sewing room early this morning got the topper on my wool quilt so i can finish stitching it and then put borders on in it and will be done nothing else new there except I did pull some blocks that sue sent me and I am going to put those together as a Memorial quilt for a gentleman at church that lost his dad last week

I pulled out my Accu quilt cutter and my 2 1/2 strip die so I’m gonna get my sashing strips cut and get those blocks together

Accuquilt has had a bunch of new dies come out and I have just fell in love there a lot of the old fashion blocks so I got the pickle dish because I’ve always wanted to make a pickle dish quilt and then they got basket of lilies so my hat DH bought me that one also for my birthday and Arkansas traveler oh my goodness I love that one so that was another one he got me for my birthday so I have some quilts planned with some stash

Nothing else new here so you guys have a great day today is going to be a day with no rain showers so probably will spend a lot of time in the pool later with the grand

Hugs 🤗 prayers 🙏 happy stitching 🧵

Good morning!

The little chirping birds and I are awake. It's cold outside. Even frost warning at my elevation. My new trees will get in the ground this afternoon. And more ceiling on the ceiling today. Only about 3 very long rows left. Then I will have space for the next set of ceiling materials and will order that.

I am sewing just as soon as our handyman gets the area over my island installed. I try to stay out of the way. I also cleaned and wiped away the dust and construction crumbly bumblys from my desk. Even my keyboard was cleaned. The bookcase is back in working order too. I ordered a new bench pillow pattern, and saw I already own it. Dumb bunny me! And the squirrels are running loose too! Saw a cute Skinnie pattern I have, so may just need to make today. I pulled out all my patrioic decorations for July and Ethan helped me put them up. I still need to add the bunting to my deck railing.

Enjoy the day! Do something fun too!
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning,

SUZ - have fun shopping for a new machine. As much as you quilt, have you ever given any thought to getting a quilting machine and frame? I used to quilt on my regular machine, too, but it really messed up my neck and shoulder trying to maneuver the quilt through the machine. There are so many different ones out there now and prices have come down. Especially used ones.

LOIS - I'm rarely on FB, but once in a while my phone tells me there is something good to go see - so I did, and I did! Your little stockings are adorable!

VELDA - You really had a scary time of it with the colonoscopy. Hope it was just a one time thing. Otherwise, the test all came back clear, I'm guessing? Happy laundering! The cool of the morning is certainly the time to do it!

IZZY - as a kid I was always so happy to see summer vacation arrive that I never gave any thought that the teachers might be even happier! lol! Enjoy the summer to come. Your birthday must be coming up soon so I will wish you the happiest of happies now! A new baby means at least one new quilt! Happy waiting!

JANA - the squirrels seem to run rampant at your house! lol! Maybe you need pest control! What is the new skinnie like? And can you return the duplicate pattern? I remember you doing a bench pillow several months ago.

SHARONA - It must be a really good reason to be in the car on the way to Alamosa in that heat!

MARY Q - I have that book of Lois's, too. I bought it last year when QIAD had it on sale. It has a lot of cute things in it. Only 9 more days! Are you ready??

CHRISS - I love that you are sharing your newly free time with deserving groups. My brother's wife with Alz finally had to be admitted to a facility last Nov. He tried for so long to care for her at home, but eventually she needed more skilled nursing care. And she is just one of 4 people in our life who have/had the disease. They need your support. Thank you.

JUDI - did you get all your basement work finished yesterday? Time to sew? When is your eastern DGD coming to visit? Will she be staying with you again?

I had some extra hours yesterday afternoon and spent them cutting out about 7 blocks for my new project - Gypsy Dancer 3. I bagged each block separately and labeled it. The block are all different and the fabrics for each block as well, so it's much easier to sew in the confined space of the trailer if things are pre-cut. We will be hitting the road about 9-ish this morning. We get to pull our trailer through Seattle in traffic! Won't that be special! Sue, if you're reading, we'll be at the CG we went to with you and Kenn - Howard Miller County Park - for the first two nights.

I'm taking my computer so I hope to be able to still hang out with you guys most mornings. Stay cool!

TGIF! Last night of work tonight then 2 nights off!

Getting busy getting ready for my Vegas Trip. Getting lists made, looking at swim suits, need car detailed. Will make sure all my charting is done and up to date.

Suzette always fun to get a new machine.
Lois sometimes a newsless life is a quiet life. I am working on that.
Vel temps are going up here also. Looking at 90's by Wednesday. Not my kind of weather.
Izzy you are surely putting the pedal to the medal and kicking them quilts out. Great job! I am not sure if I ever told you but I had a horrible speech problem growing up. Could speak German fine, English my tongue just wouldn't do it. Years of a speech therapist got me going, to this day I remember her. You do such needed work for the youth.
Jana never hurts to have two of something.
Chriss happy you get to do something fun and don't have to worry about work everyday. I will get there.
Mary I see you are busy as always.

Well, tree man coming at 8:30, need to get cleaned up and dressed. Garden watered and other usual morning items.
A Friend is God's way of making sure we never walk alone!

Good Morning Girls

Happy HOT Friday...

Suzette... Oh How fun!! to go machine shopping !!! I have seen pictures of the babylock machines and notice a lot of them have bigger throats. Hope you find a good deal on the perfect one! I'd like a machine with a big throat width wise and taller in that area too.

Lois... I did it... I ordered the book from Amazon!! Should be here Sunday! Not that I need more projects... considering I have no idea how much sewing time I'm going to get in this summer!  Sure looked like there are a lot of cute projects in the book though!

Velda... Do you have to go into town to do laundry? or is there a place right at the campground. Either way I guess it's kind of pain, but a good job to have DONE right?

Izzy..... Pickle dish quilt? Haven't heard of that one... might have to google it up! Happy Last day of School... There are days when I really miss having a pool... my kids spent a lot of time in ours when we had one... Though, now I'm glad it's gone.... too much for me to take care of

Jana... Oh my goodness... the squirrels are busy at your house too! When I sit and type a note here in the morning, I hear the squirrels running loose all over my house... I get up to get more coffee and darn if I forget what I'm doing. That's why it can take me an hour to finish a chat!

Maryz.... Hope you find good internet connections.. Can't go 2 weeks without seeing you! No, I'm NOT ready!!! Getting there... if it weren't for those darn squirrels! I need to find a home for my big table.. hate to have to stick it in the garage... That townhouse idea is sounding better all the time!

Valerie.... When I think of going to Vegas... I think of Casinos! But it sounds like you have way better things planned! Hope you have a great time and enjoy your visit with your BIL

Speaking of Squirrels... I better go see if I can tame them down a little. Will probably do a little work downstairs today... the kids rooms are ready, but I have stuff in Shawn's room that I need to find a place for.

Good news on the AK front...Jen's BF David got a job... He starts Monday! Next weekend Michael will be here with Kaya and Eli so I'll get some hugs from them... will need to stock up as I won't get to see them again until probably summer 2022 when Kaya graduates from High School!

Wishing you all a Fabulous Friday

So I got 2 loads of laundry done and the laundry room floor washed and the downstairs bathroom cleaned...I am headed to the basement to finish mopping the floor and loading the baby quilt...I made the binding this morning too..ill just mop around the LA to get up the dust. It is a small quilt so I should be able to get it done in an hour or so....once its loaded...nothing fancy just a small meander,,,hope all of your days are going well...XXXXXXOOOOOO

Valerie, how long will you be in Vegas? I bet you are ready for a get away.

Chriss, I am not a good bargain hunter. If it's not in plain sight, I probably won't see it. I did get a few skirts at a thrift store years ago. They were a couple favorites for years. Sounds like to you are starting to get the hang of not working. It takes a while. Having a routine helps out.

Judi, I need to mop today too. Unless you'd like to come over and do it for me. lol

Maryq, so fun for you to see the grandkids. Enjoy.

Maryz, safe travels.

Izzy, I love the Accuquilt. I could spend a lot of money on dies.

Suzette, have fun looking at machines.

A little cleaning and then cutting out of quilt kits today.

Have a wonderful day.
