Good morning Lois and those who follow.
Well yesterday I finished the dog quilt and was starting to layer it. I pieced the backing and went to iron it. Well guess what? My iron had quit. I tried plugging it in a different plug but that didnā€™t work. So I ironed the backing with one of those little irons that you use to iron when you are piecing. So a new iron is on the top of my shopping list. This iron was only 3 years old. Today I am going to start quilting it. I am just stitching in the ditch on it. It snowed just about all day yesterday off and on. We have maybe a 1/4ā€. I just took the dogs out and heard something hitting my hood. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Lois - have a great day.

good Morning all, Slept in today,,,Watched hockey on tv last night, So fun to see th Red Wings play again,,,if only we could watch the grandkids play. they have started practicing but only 2 spectators per kid.
I did make a few blocks on my quilt while I watched,,,so a very relaxing evening,
Today Ken will fo get several butt logs of maple and a trailer full of fire wood. we will take it over to my sisters house and cut it up there, She has our splitter out at her house,,,She has 6 acres and always gives us fire wood..so we will share this with her,,,,we cannot possible use all the fire wood but Ken will have the logs milled into planks. It has been a little warm for too many fire here and we have been in the basement working more. Our friends have horses and cut down a section af trees to make a larger pasture for them.
Ken brought me coffee up here this morning so I will sip and wake up. hope you all have a great day,
Anyone heard from Cindy....on how her and Don are doing...?

Morning
Last night I used leftover homemade bread to put a breakfast casserole in fridge. So this morning a hot breakfast was as easy as lighting the oven.
Contractors were supposed to start Thursday, now they are saying Tomorrow. Joe is more than upset. But he and DS1 worked yesterday and will work today on drywall. Less to pay Contractors. We did pay them a deposit, so if they are not there tomorrow, to the courthouse it will be.
Coffee time here.

Hello, everyone,

I slept in till 5 AM this morning yay! Iā€™m back on Pacific time. And soon will move back to mountain time, a.k.a. Daylight saving time for us. No wonder Scotty is confused about his supper time!

Velda, glad the hand Quilting is working out on your quilt. Itā€™s good to know you have a viable alternative to a machine quilting. Remember, we want to see a picture!

Katy, oh my gosh! Your poor X. Hope they figure out whatā€™s wrong with him soon

Valerie. Hope your dad is doing OK since his ER visit. I am not hesitant to get the Covid vaccine. The few side effects so far havenā€™t been proven to be a result of the vaccine. They could merely be coincidental. I feel the risks of the virus are far more problematic than The risks of possible side effects.

Flo, I hope one day you can have all the Time in the world to Quilt again. Sadly, we have found many contractors donā€™t honor time commitments. I understand when Another job runs longer than estimated but we have found they often donā€™t even call but just let you sit and stew.

Judi, glad youā€™re getting to see your redwings! Do you have a wood shed on your property for all that wood? When Our woodshed is overstuffed it holds about eight cords. That will last us three or four years. We have a fire every evening about 10 months of the year. I havenā€™t heard from Cindy for quite a while. But I know she has gone back to work.

Suzette, not even the expensive irons last very long anymore so I quit buying them. An iron is an iron is an iron. My Old black and decker iron from the Goodwill lasted longer than my last Rowenta. I forget what brand I had last February that quit. Because of Covid we ordered a new one online and itā€™s still circling the earth. We finally gave up and ordered curbside pick up from target and picked up a CHI. So far, so good but itā€™s only 10 months old. I have a little travel Sunbeam in the trailer that is half size but is a little workhorse and is six years old so far. When we are parked for a long time, that little iron is often on all day long for weeks.

Lois, I would choose visiting with family any day of the week over cleaning my room.

Yesterday we did our grocery shopping and Costco. That and putting everything away, packaging the meat for the freezer, washing all the vegetables, took 4-1/2 hours. I was tuckered. I built a fire, and sat down and worked on my Crosstitch and listened to my audio book the rest of the afternoon. What a treat! I think today we will be able to park the trailer in the shelter. Most of our backyard lake is gone now so hopefully we wonā€™t sink into the mud. šŸ¤ž then I will start cleaning this afternoon. I have three tops ready for Quilting. Iā€™ve also got out my embroidered state birds blocks and Iā€™m starting to put them together. I wish I had a way to display all the quilts that Iā€™ve made. I would love a tall chest with glass doors to hold folded quilts. It is top of my wish list.

Wishing us all a sunny Sunday and a full bobbin!

Good morning, hoping everyone has a blest Sunday.

No sewing yesterday but going to try today. Dad literally slept the day away yesterday. DH could not wake him for lunch and I had to pretty much force dinner. So I am becoming concerned. I think today I will try just soups and stuff like that.

I did get the last piece of Fabric I need for my Dresden plate washed, will cut it today. Found some 1800 scraps I can cut for the center circle. Also went to the quilt shop and picked up the rest of what I need for the Daybreak quilt. I am beginning to second guess that one. Read the instructions, Uhm, this one won't be easy. I need to start cutting it as it's lots to cut and a king size. Picked up a train panel to make a quickie quilt for Dad. He use to love model trains.

Suzette sorry to hear about the iron. I have had a time myself finding an iron that lasted. They either start leaking water or just stop working.
Flo are you willing to share your recipe. Sorry about the contractors, yes I do not think there is a thing as an ontime contracture.
Mary I saw one of those quilt cases the other day for sale on Facebook. I think it was $500 used. I had never seen one and thought it a great idea. Quilts stay cleaner that way. But it was no where close to me so guess someone else will buy it. I am still contemplating the vaccine but a bit scared. Haven't been able to find somewhere to get it done either. All 3 of my jobs have sent in the info for us but I have not heard from anyone. I will keep trying to get through to Kaiser.

Things are sounding positive for Kathy, that is good news. I picked up a card but need to think about what to send with it.

Well need to get a few uglies done. And fill the coffee cup!

Just a quick hello today. We watch church through Facebook Live and almost time to set up. Our son lets us use his HDMI cable to project laptop screen onto his big TV.
I am not a digital guru, but just know this is a neat technology. šŸ˜‰
I will work in tying more on quilt. Getting close to finished. Happy to see the end is near.
Snowy day here, so a great day to work on a project.
Take care, hugs, and keep those bobbins full.
Vel

Valerie, our friends here have Kaiser Permanente. They called on Friday afternoon and got appointments for Saturday afternoon to get their vaccines. It was all done in less than 24 hours.

Good Morning Girls

Sorry I was MIA yesterday.... slept too late... again and decided I better get busy on the house chores! Cranked up the music, filled my coffee cup and got busy with the uglies.

Lois... Did you have another one of those "don't-feel-like-doing-nothing" days yesterday? When we have a stretch of cloudy dreary days... it's hard for me to get super motivated too. I just want to park fanny on the couch and watch TV and do my embroidery projects.

Suzette....If you got 3 years out of an iron... I think that's pretty good. When you think how much more we use an iron than "normal" people! The last iron I bought was a Hamilton Beach Durathon.. and I have to say, it's been pretty good. I've heard to make them last longer to never put water in them... but I'm a steam freak... gotta have it.

Judi.... I all my married years, I don't think my DEX ever brought me a cup of coffee.... which is why I think it's so darn sweet of Ken to bring you coffee. After having to completely heat a house with firewood when we lived in No. Minnesota... I never wanted to see a fireplace again... :)

Flo.... Sure hope your dry wall people show up tomorrow! I know how anxious you guys are to have that all done!!!

Maryz.... No wonder your trip to Costco and the grocery store pooped you out! Even a short trip to Target does it for me. I did figure out how to get Michael's book on my IPad--after a phone call to Amazon. And I thought of a title for his next one "Summer Guilty"
Did I see you are sending a quilt to Kathy? You read my mind... I was thinking about getting one going for her. I've started a little box for her and might run to Joann tomorrow to see what fun things I can put it in.

Valerie.... Are you making the Daybreak quilt from Connecting Threads? That's the pattern my sister picked out for me to make for her in queen size. Though we haven't had a chance to look for fabric yet. I might take some of my scraps etc' and make a little practice block or two before I start hers. So sorry to hear your Dad isn't feeling great!

Velda.... Do remember watching movies and TV as a kid and seeing sci-fi movies with video telephone? And look... it's not science fiction anymore! Even cell phones? Who knew when those first phones came out that eventually you'd be able to actually see the person you're talking to! Even in another COUNTRY! Still amazes me!

Chriss.. I meant to log on during prayer circle yesterday... but I was vacuuming and knocked over a wet plant... so I had MUD all over my carpet.... had to grab the carpet shampooer machine.... but all the while, instead of swearing, I was praying! Especially for our sweet Kathy.

Needless to say I didn't get any sewing in yesterday... .but today I have a date with Mr. Maytag and will sew as he does his thing. Friday I got another UFO on other table and ready to pin, so might work on that a bit. It's all appliqued so it's for sure going to take me a while to quilt as the plan it just to echo around all the edges. God grant me lots of patience for that one!

time to refill the coffee and head down to S E W !!!! always makes me happy!

Wishing you all a Super Sunday
