Good morning,

We'll be going to mid-60's, partly sunny, all day long. No complaints here! Not too cold, not to hot, but juust riiiight . . . . :D

Seattle was destroyed over the weekend - by people protesting the commission of a crime. Stores were broken into, vandalized, and looted. Cars were set afire. People were assaulted. It went on for hours. 200 Nat'l Guardsmen were called out to back up the police. And the next night the rioters destroyed downtown Bellevue. I think the message of "peace and brotherhood" was lost somewhere in all the violence.

JUDI - 90's?? Sizzle!! Those snowmen will help keep you cool!

BECCA - glad to see some things opening up, and pleased that they are taking precautions. I could really use a haircut, but don't see that happening any time soon.

CAROLE- SOO GOOD to see you!! But I'm saddened about Luke. But he's got the best doggy mom in the world to help him through this. Hugs to you and kisses for Luke. Oh, and how's Ken doing since his back surgery? And how are you feeling? No more UFO's? You finished your embroidery project? Cathedral Windows? How are Joe & Darlene doing since their move?

MARY Q - It's good to have choices. I've always got a long list of stuff to do. And I almost always choose sewing! High five, Sistuh!!

VAL - I'm curious about what your meeting will be like. And tell us more about the postition you interviewed for - Doing what? And where would you be doing it? Close to home, I hope!

LORI - How long will you be gone? Safe flight! When emptying a house for sale, there is lots of stuff for thrift shop donations. Here, not even Goodwill is open for shopping, but they make be making pick-ups . . So good luck with all that!

Yesterday Bill quilted my Mickey Mouse quilt and I bound and labeled it. Will try to share a photo when I finish this post. It turned out so cute. Today, we're going to load up a lotto quilt top for me to quilt with a simple meander. I'm not into computers at all and don't do the Q-bot patterns. I have 14 more tops that need quilting and Bill is getting too far behind. I can do them much faster but they aren't too fancy. Most are for donation either to the police or to one of our nursing homes come Christmas.

Have a Marvy Monday!

Good morning!

Another hot and windy day here. We need to keep the windows closed, as the wind is coming off the west desert area, bringing lots of dirt with it. I don't mind the heat, just had enough with the wind!

We have to go out and get the virus test this morning. Then home. The state has opened much, but we are lagging behind in going out. A few necessary trips, but other than that, we hide! I have decided to let my hair grow long again, so no need to get a haircut. I can trim up my bangs and I cut Michael's hair. Been doing that for 45 years. I also keep Ethan from becoming shaggy, cutting his hair too. Crenda cuts her boys hair and Matt's. Aaron, does his own, with a Bic razor - he is the baldest of my children. The kids do go and get drive thru food once in awhile.

Working on uglies, laundry and then the Batt Cave.

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Good Blue Sky Morning..........

Happy June 1st! Sorry I've been missing. I didn't sleep for 3 nights even with the sleep aid. I had a good night's sleep last night & feeling like myself.

Not much happening here. I'm still working on the table topper & trying to get some Spring cleaning. I have a long list of phone calls to make. One will be to the potter in Long Island that made my very large mug that I've had for 30 years. I knocked it off into the sink.....cracked. See I told you not much is going on here.
Someone asked about my shoulder. In 2004 I had rotator cuff surgery. I tripped over my new sneakers & fell, in the house, & rehurt the shoulder. The Dr wanted to replace it.

Judi.......Boy was I surprised when it went down into the 40s last night. Hope you get to the sewing early.

Becca.......we are slowly opening too. My sister has been called back to work, will start with special training. I'm in need of a hair cut too. One of my calls today. Our country & world is in need of prayers.

Maryz........The destruction has been horrible. I heard they destroyed a police station.
You two are the quilting angels.

Jana.......there's no money to be made with hair cuts at you house. I wish I could do my own.

Love & Prayers. Kathy

Love & Prayers...................Kathy

Good sunny morning here in Myrtle Beach SC Because of the rioters and looters and idiots, we now have a 6pm to 6am curfew. Yesterday the police prec. was boarded up, they were prepared for whatever was coming their way. What message are we teaching our children when you burn cars, break into businesses, steal merchandise from local stores. Children are our future. Their parents should be held accountable for their actions as well as everyone else who was involved in the destruction. Off my soap box.

Good morning all! Just got back from my first Monday Breakfast at Bob Evans in over 2 months. It was nice to see the servers again. Today is to be chilly but warm enough that I can go out and plant my petunia pots this afternoon. This is the latest that I have ever gotten them done. Mowed my 4 acres yesterday and now have so much grass clippings in my yard. if I had a hay baler I could probably get 20 bales of the stuff.

I need to get back to my UGRR blocks this week. I am so far behind on them but since I have 3 weeks to finish I will get them done. After the flower planting this is my next project.

I just can't believe all the protest and looting and burning I am seeing on TV. What is happening to this country? The original idea of the protests for the man who got killed is gone. Now it is just anarchy. I can't believe all the businesses that are ruined. While I was watching the TV this morning people were looting right in front of the TV cameras. What gives them the right to steal for no reason? Even in my small town of Defiance we had a peaceful demonstration of about 30 people in front of the courthouse on Saturday. What is this country coming too? Sure didn't see much "social distancing".

Well, better go get started. Hope everyone has a good day and stay safe. Hard to believe it is June 1st already.

Sherry

Good Morning Girls

Just a quick hello.... as I look at the clock and see that it's already 10:30 here and I'm still in my jammies! Lots on my to do list and since I never did do laundry yesterday... that chore is on the top!

It's windier than all get out here today.... I think we are going to get up to close to 90 here today.. I think it's safe to turn the furnace off now and maybe crank up the AC. OR I could just stay down in the sewing room all day where it's always nice and cool!

Need to go meet my hair stylist today and bring her some masks.... they can open here, but can only have 1 stylist in the salon at a time... can't wait until it's her turn so I can get on the schedule for a hair cut... I am looking pretty shaggy!

Not much else to tell you all... You've all seen the news and are experiencing the mess in your own areas. Last night I was sitting on the deck enjoying the quiet evening and I swear.... I saw the Hand of God in the cloud formations. In that moment I sent prayers for God to soften the hearts of those with so much anger. And Prayers of safety for our Police, Fire and Responders! Please join me.

Time for more coffee!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Just lost my post answering MaryZ's question. This has happened before on other days and other posts.. This time I will try again!!!!

Ken is doing well after 2 back surgeries in one year. It does hurt some if he over does it. But believe me that does not happen often. lol I am doing good. I am on a new infusion call Simponi It is attacking a new area. Th doctor says we are coming to an end in infusions that I can take. I do understand this and can only hope this one does not stop working until a new one comes out. But all and all I am doing great. I keep busy.
The Cathedral Windows was done the year we completed the Dear Jane Quilt. you remember that one, don't you. the one that drove us to discover wine. lol

Joe and Darlene decided not to move to South Carolina to be close to their daughter. They both are healthy and love living here. They are independent and decided now was not the right time. I was so happy they decided to stay. Don't like the thought of them moving. Their daughter, Darla, won a complete new sewing room from one of the quilt stores on line. Couldnt happen to a nicer person.

okay, that is it and now off to take Luke out. He cant go ou alone anymore because he was the bully to the coyotes when he was sighted. Now he could not protect himself because he can not see. I am his Seeing Eye Human. LOL

Hugs to all,

Carole

Well, the meeting was not in my favor. Laid off due to lack of work. They will continue to pay their share of my benefits but I must pay what I have been paying. Not quite sure how I will do that. Trying to apply for unemployment but site is not working. Will try later in the day.

The interview I had Friday was for a position in an Assisted Living. It is about 25 miles from my house but against the commute. She was pleased with the interview and sent it on to the next level. Praying but not holding my breath. Will continue to look. With unemployment I will be okay for the bit but don't want to wait until the last moment. Hard to find a job at my age.

Guess I will start going through some things at the house. Haven't not worked in so many years not sure what stay at home people do. Any pointers?

The care giver is prepaid for the next couple of months so will keep her going so I can do interviews in case any come along. Not sure after that.

Not much else to talk about today. Off to make a plan.
