Good morning, It is sunny and bright here but still cold. going into the 60s next week. Today we have Sibling dinner,,,it is sorta like Maryqs picnic but we do it in a Polish restuarant. We have a really good one not that far. I think there will be 2 missing, One sister is in Florida and another working midnights, but will be fun,
I am almost done with the blocks on the second Christmas quilt...it goes pretty fast, the sahing is pieced and that will take time...it is done with 144 5 inch blocks. I should have bought the charm squares but cut them myself instead,,,It will be pretty but not finished in time for the guild challenge. My next quilt will be the Merry Merry Snowmen and I am excited to get it too. Well I need to get dressed and get something dome here,,,have a wonderful day,XXXXXXXXXOOOOOOO

Good morning!

MARY Q - I've missed you! Sorry Jen is going home but happy to have you back. Good luck with the boob squishing. And it definitely deserves ice cream! Or a new bathroom. At least one or the other! I've got my UGRR blocks all cut out and packed, ready to sew while camping. And yes, we are leaving in the morning. It's about a 4-hr drive to the mouth of the Columbia, on the Pacific beach.

KATHY - fun to meet new friends who share our interests. And name, apparently. Hope your sis is OK. And I hope your washer is an easy - and inexpensive - fix! In the meantime, a mighty fine excuse not to do laundry!

DIANE - Sounds like a lot of fun, preparing kits! I'm glad the older vets get pushed up to the front of the line.

JANA - I was so happy to hear that Smudge turned up safe and uninjured!! I made Bill pause the TV so I could give him the good news. We both cheered. I can only imagine Ethan's joy!

IZZY - so how's it going with your mom and her car? Is your weekend definitely cancelled? If so, I'm sorry. I know you really were looking forward to it. But higher needs come first, I guess. Any chance you can at least take a day trip to see the quilt show?

BECCA - I hope you can stay home today, except for possibly a walk in that lovely sunshine! I'll be joining you in the laundry room. We can mambo together!

JUDI - are you done cutting out your new quilt yet? Has sewing begun? I had thought you were working on your Merry Merry Snowmen now. But this one is your red/white one, right? I almost forgot about that one!

CHRISS - what will you be working on in your sewing room this weekend? Any news on your new neighbors yet? How is your son doing?

I have my last orphan top finished. Just need to add a border - also from scrap strips. I did it! My orphans all have homes now! Whew! I still have four large shoebox -sized totes filled with 2-1/2" squares, strips of various widths, squares of various sizes (exc. 2-1/2"), and HST's of various sizes. But they can wait for another year. I'll use a lot of those strips to make scrappy bindings.

Today is last minute packing trailer, laundry, make lasagna for freezer, vacuum, and little stuff like water plants, lights on timers, pick up mail, etc. We hitched up yesterday and good thing we did because Bill found trailer tail light out - not just the bulb but the entire housing unit - and he was on a 3-hr hunt to all the RV dealers in Tacoma to find a new one. So that little crisis was dealt with. It's always something when we haven't been out for a long while. And for us, 5 months is a long while! We will be camping in a place with very poor internet or cell service, so I will be piece-meal on posting and only with my phone.

Corona virus is big deal here, as I'm sure you all know. Most of the cases are in King Co/Seattle area (50 miles north of us), but yesterday first case found it's way to Pierce Co. and is in the hospital 3 miles from our house. Good time to get out of Dodge for a while. It's a little hurtful when they say, "Elderly people should stay home. All people over 60." Ouch!! When did I become elderly??

I need to go get more coffee and get busy!

TTYL!

It's that time again. Minnie and I fly out of Corpus at 1 p.m., 3 hr lay over in Houston and arrive in Denver about 7. By the time the shuttle gets us to my parents house, it will be close to 10 p.m. I will spend the night there. I'm praying for germ free trip.

Hope you all have a great day!

Sun, sun and more sun here. Today is the marathon here. Glad to see it will be nice for the runners. My idea of a marathon is seating at my machine for hours before nature calls. LOL. I'm sure I'm not the only one, right?
Binding done on 1 and later will cut binding for the 2nd. (QOV, of course)
Diane (the other Diane) and I are tagging quilts for a presentation next Sat. for 31 vets. This is the fun part and definitely puts a smile on my face.
Off to try NOT to spend too much $$$ at Costco today, unlikely. I'll be on the look out for the little elves who sneak things I don't need into our cart.
I'll check back later to catch up. Enjoy the day.
Diane

Good morning, I have been MIA lately trying to get things done. Several life changes recently.

Baby quilt is done and at Teresa's for quilting. I am pushing to get my spring blocks done this weekend. Dad's taxes this weekend. Mine next weekend.
Biggest update is the hospice company I work for has been sold. They were a company who did both Home Health and Hospice and decided to sell the hospice side of the business. Not sure what that means for the future but hoping to retain my job or at least some job there. We had been wondering why we weren't hearing from many corporate people so they came in yesterday and told us. New owners where there by Noon! They seem nice enough so we will see. Feeling a bit empty after sending out End of Day report and no one responded.

Baby shower is last Saturday this month. Plans are being made but I am keeping low.

Dad is doing pretty well. The new care giver is working out. She is not afraid of a bit of work and can cook! She does well with Dad and so far no complaints. Hoping to keep her long term.

Hope everyone here is doing well. Miss my daily visits but there is just not enough time in the morning.
A Friend is God's way of making sure we never walk alone!

Good morning!

It is joyful around here with Smudge home. Ethan is over the moon and what a life long lesson he learned that prayers are heard and answered. Smudge is a very loveable lap mutt and loves to snuggle and purr! We have no idea where he was while missing.

Spent time putting away my new "squirrel" project, ready to start that. Then spent time cutting out my March wall hanging and tracing and readying the pieces parts for the April one. There are a ton of little parts, that you cut just one or two of that size. Very time consuming.

I was good at the LQS yesterday and didn't spend all I had saved. The charm pack I bought was a very large one - 82 fat quarters in it. Only two of each pattern or color. Will be great for my squirrel project.

Well, should head to the Batt Cave and get busy.

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning, another wonderful day.

Yesterday evening a girlfriend and I went and played bingo. What a bunch of fun. We walked in not knowing what we were getting into. Who knew there were so many different ways to play bingo. A complete pack of cards cost $15 and because we didn't have one and it was required we each had to buy a ink dauber for $1.50. We had a blast and didn't win a buck.

Lori, glad your dad is getting the trust in order. It's surely a blessing for your dad to have someone he can rely on to take care of the details when needed.

Izzy, sorry to hear about the grandma in your church. When someone passes my first reaction is "yay, they are in heaven" then I think of the family who misses their family member. It's always such an up/down time for me.

Judi, I had wondered about Amazon Audible. So far I load books from Prime on my tablet and when I am on the treadmill I read. I prop my tablet up and have a little rubber thing I put on it so it doesn't slide. Makes the task fly by. I was wondering about audible and kindle for a better selection.

Sherry, there is so much to see in Vegas. every casino has a theme and it's cool to see the volcano or travel down the river on a gondola. Not sure if it's still there but the tear jerker for me was all the t-shirts from fire departments all over the world tied to the fences in memory of the twin towers and 9/11. And if you are up to a road trip while you are there the Hoover Dam is cool to see. Vegas also has the Elvis Presley museum. Vegas is a great tourist town.

Diane, we are supposed to get rain today but so far our sky is just teasing us. I love the name Gatlinberg, now sure why but I do. I think Katy goes there sometimes.

Lois, isn't it wonderful to have the house all to yourself for the weekend? no cooking no taking care of others, it's all about you girlfriend, have fun. You can even stay in your jammies all day long. woo hoo.

Flo, do you think DDIL just is afraid to get in your way or step on your toes? As hard as it is to have anyone live in your home it must be equally hard for them to live there. Once they get there own place she will have her own turf to take care of.

Jana, hard to believe Ethan is old enough to just ride his bike over to grandma's. I gotta know, what is your latest squirrel project going to be.

Maryz, so funny, you clean your house before you leave. Jazz is fine. I need to finish up my bird project then will tackle the lotto blocks. Finally I will sandwich and quilt the jelly roll we made at quilt club, we each took home the quilt we made and Jazz will be the quilter. It will be her first experience with quilting.

Maryq, hope Jen figures out how to keep Eli busy for all that layover time. hope it's at least a fun airport with lots to see while they wait. Did Kyra come with them? Also hope the bathroom is a quick and inexpensive fix.

Becca, I think of you often too. Not sure where my time is going but it sure seems to be going someplace. I am trying to get more involved in my community so that when I do retire I will not be sedate. I might join the genealogy group here too. Plus I exercise after work for about an hour. I want to be busy. I didn't see an update on our twins, how was Hadlee's heart test? Before you know it their parents will be having tea parties and digging in the dirt with those two. It always puts a smile on my face when I think of them and how well they are doing.

Judi, you don't know how badly I wish I could sit in for one of your missing sisters at your sibling dinner. Lucky for you you live on the opposite side of the map from me or I would show up. Just googled Merry Merry snowmen. love that quilt.

Maryz, I found out last night at bingo that anyone over 55 is a "golden ager" A term our senior center uses. While you are considered elderly I am a golden ager. And, so you know, as a golden ager I am only 4 years from becoming elderly, LOL. hey, wait. lets rebel and not be elderly. I say we stay golden agers because it has golden in the name and not progress past gold. I also have some 2 1/2 inch squares that I use for hexi's. I have put that project aside until. we should swap some of them so we each have a bigger variety.

Lyn, I also pray you have a germ free trip.

Valerie, wow about the company being sold. Hope it works in your favor. Glad the care giver is working for dad. really really glad. Guess it's true in everything, you have to go through a lot of toads before you find the prince. Really hope things go well with the new owners.

Jana, great Ethan Smudge story. yes, prayers do get answered. so glad the lesson worked and Ethan was old enough to understand it. God does good work. I have a FQ pack from Moda that I bought years ago that is still in the package. what are you making? I'd love to see the pattern.

Jerry has a breakfast casserole in the oven. Not my favorite but less carbs than the biscuit, gravy, potato, eggs, and bacon breakfast I would love to gorge myself on. Last night we had dinner at the senior center and had a choice of menu items. we each had a bowl of fish soup for $3. it was good but not filling. I also had my first slice of rhubarb/strawberry pie. Loved it.

Today after breakfast I will go play in my room. There is an estate sale in town but I am trying to talk myself out of it.

You girls have a marvelous day, it was fun catching up with you.

Good Morning Girls

Still in jammies this morning.. waiting to hear from Jen to see what time they will be here... suppose I better get in shower soon.

Becca.... I'll meet you in the laundry room too... Got a good start yesterday, but still a couple more loads to go! Am waiting to hear from Kevin to see if he needs me to baby sit tonight... then I can get some Corinne and Nolan hugs too! Aren't grandkid hugs the best!

Judi.... With all the people that were crammed into my house... I'm thinking we should have had our picnic at a restaurant! My two older brothers are deaf, so we really have to shout at them--even with their hearing aids!

Maryz... Mammo went fine... OUCH... I'll get a letter in the mail with results. And since there is a WM across the street... I did go buy some ice cream. Good thing Bill checked all the trailer lights before you headed out! You can always text me and I'll relay messages!

Lyn.... Wishing you a safe trip home... I'm not normally paranoid about germs... but this virus is making me nervous! Not enough to cancel my trip to Canada... but I'm packing lots of anti-biotic wipes etc!

Diane... One nice thing about having the downstairs bathroom the only working one... it's close to my sewing machine! A short walk down the hall... very convenient with all the coffee I did while I sew

Flo..... If it hits 60 here tomorrow as predicted... for sure I'll be opening up windows!!

Valerie.... Such good news that your new caregiver is working out.. Must be quite a relief! Will keep the good thoughts that your job is secure and that new owners will respect your job!

Chriss… Have you had a chance to play with your new machine??? Can I twist your arm for the UGRR swap? Strawberry/rhubarb pie! My favorite.. with lots of whipped cream.

Guess I better get going... the squirrels all over my house and it's taken me almost 2 hours to type this... so easily distracted!

Need to clean up before Jen and Eli and do a quick walk about to see what they have forgotten here--as always they leave stuff behind.

Ten days left to sign up for UGRR Swap! I have 8 blocks done already.. Am thinking about doing a 2nd block, but will wait until sign up deadline to see what's available.

Have a super day every one
