Good morning

Mary love the skinny elves :)

Chickie, in my prayers, so sorry for your loss.

Not much for today but work. I had such a funny day yesterday with my kids. We were working on multi meaning words and one of my special kiddos had these two sentences:
"Jon told the doctor his _________ hurt." "The pirate put his jewels in his treasure______ then took it to an island" His word to fill in blanks: "poop deck". I about rolled out of my chair. Put that in each sentence too funny. :) Fun day:) I love these kids.

Well today is finish mt washmore and work. I hope to get into sewing room in just bit to clean it up so can get some work done. DH gone early pulling his quilt out to get binding pinned. :)

Hugs and prayers all.

Good morning!

It is so quiet outside. We are socked in deep with tule fog. I can barely see my backyard fence. It rained last night and later this weekend, snow will return.

Tomorrow Stu and Sarah are going car shopping. Found several used Toyotas that are certified at the Toyota dealer. Today is the mandatory OT day for Stu.

I a few things left to put up and the trees. I am cooking our turkey dinner today, so I will have a helper or two to bring up the big trees. Grandma's bribery - food! LOL!

Lila saw her pediatrician and he gave her a clean bill of health from the pneumonia. The last dose of antibiotics is Saturday.

Not much else here, sewing and shopping.

Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Good morning,

In case you didn't read my late post yesterday, Chickie's 101 yr old mother passed away yesterday morning. It was a quiet, peaceful passing. Chickie was on her way to her mom's when she got the news from her sister.

JUDI - so relieved your eye is OK! Whew! Nolan is 14? Seems he was just a tiny guy. Good luck with his swimming. I love the name Nolan! Always have.

JANA - That was a fast bout with the pneumonia for Lila! It was caught early and responded to antbx. She is so lucky! Hope everyone finds just the car they need! Happy turkey day!

IZZY - It's been said before - kids say the darnedest things! lol!

LOIS - have a fab day! Hope you make quick work of the laundry. You have the grands' shopping finished! Yay! How many grands do you have and what ages are they? I only have 2, both boys, ages 22 and 26. We are giving one a set of silverware as he's just setting up his own home, and the older one gets snowshoes (he got his silverware 3 years ago.)

I decided I want to do Eleanor's pattern, Patches of Life, in Christmas fabrics. I want to make it large enough for our king bed but use only flannel or maybe even nothing for batting so it won't be so heavy and will fit into the washer. More like a bedspread that looks like a quilt. I have so many small Christmas scraps and this will really use them up. I also might stop by our local LQS. It's closing its doors in 2 weeks and prices are 45% off. Even the fixtures are for sale. I need nothing, but at those prices, I should go look probably, don't you think?

Piece!

Chickie- I am very sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers.

Lyn and Tina- The insurance co. Laura has couldn't care less about her illnesses or her pain. It is all about the money. So instead of giving her the MRI in June when it was asked for by Doctor--they paid for 4 emergency room visits along with the EMT's taking her there. Go figure.

Jana-- to bad the plea for the driver was accepted. Sue him for everything the insurance will allow and more.

Maryq -those elves are too cute. I'm going to check out the web site and try to order them. Did it take long to do them? I love fast little projects, gives me a little break from qov tops.

Maryz- to bad your lqs is closing. Any time I see %% off at my lqs--I'm there. Always something to add to the stash.

Time to start my day-hubby just left for golfing, now my time for coffee and turn on my sewing machine. LOL

Enjoy
Diane

good morning, Happy Thursday,

Suzette, happy late birthday

Chickie, condolences, I am sorry to hear about your mom.

Judi, happy birthday to Nolen who went from birth to 14 in the blink of an eye.

Not much new here. Richard will get his Masters degree next week but has decided to walk in the June graduation ceremony rather than the December one.

The kids who moved into grandma's house have put in new windows, the old ones were single pane and were put in in 1957. They have also brought in a cabinet person to remodel the kitchen. I just can't wait to see this house all done.

Kathy, prayers for your sister and I am in Kimberlys boat, still working on losing weight. I need to work a little harder.

Maryq, love the elves, so so adorable.

Maryz, no, I surely won't have that quilt done this year. My darn job just keeps getting in my way. But I will figure something out this weekend and if necessary go buy a bunch of one color to go with my white fabric and call it a two color quilt.

Someone mentioned they have very hard water and use distilled in their irons. I also have crusty hard water. I havent' picked an iron yet but am going to try the cheap iron that Target or Walmart sells. I received my service award in points from work, I think I will get an Amazon gift card with my points and perhaps buy an iron through them.

Time for work have a great day,

Morning
I have always had hard water. I buy a cheap iron, use tap water. When it gets too crusty to use, I buy new iron. It's cheaper than buying distilled water.
Feeling better. But still not back to normal.
Putting binding on quilt #1. I was about 3/4 way done with blind stitch when found spot Machine didn't catch right. So I get to unsew 12 inches hand stitch, to unsew 4 inches machine stitch..argg.
My sympathies and prayers are with Chickie.
Time to get moving.
Flo
