Saturday 'PARTAYYYYY' 5th April

Post by Jules » Fri Apr 04, 2014 11:16 pm

Morning all,

Maryq - the troll is leaving hip hip hooray!!!!! I just know you will have a GREAT day :)

The rain didn't come, not at my house anyway, but it has rained elsewhere and has cut the pollution a lot, I'm breathing a lot better, still on my inhalers 4 times a day but I can breath so that is good :) The pollution has blown up from the continent, and it's not a normal hazzard we have to face, but who knows whats haappening with the weather this year....its been bizarre everywhere

Charley had a great school trip, the kids said it was the best they'd been on and everyone who went to help have reported back to the headmistress that they were very impressed by her :) Not that I've ever had any doubt that my duaghter would do less than a perfect job.....she's loving being a teacher and the children are loving having her as one :)

Well back to sewing my red/white blocks today :)

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend xxxx

Good morning Jules and those that follow.
I didn't get much done yesterday in my studio. I did get some uglies done. Today I am treating myself to a hair coloring. It has been awhile since it was last done. Then I believe hubby and I are going out to dinner. I am hoping to get the last memory quilt fixed and then tomorrow I can get them layered and maybe even start quilting. That's a lot to hope for but we will see. Have a wonderful day.

Jules - it sounds like Charlie has found her true calling in teaching. I know you are proud of her.

Hello all! Hope everyone is well... I am trying to stay awake through my shift... ZzzZzzzzz

After work yesterday I hopped in my car and started a shop hop... hit 4 shops, put 87 miles on my car and spent WAY too much but it was FUN! I have two more shops to hit later today, after a nap. Here are two photos of my goodies. I am collecting repo fabric to start a Dear Jane (someone just slap me...lol) and the batiks are for a wall hanging for my bathroom. The rest of the stuff just jumped in my basket...lol. I have some flowered fabric for the April Lotto- each of the stores gave away a flowered FQ and a pattern. Serendipity. baby!

Good morning all!!

Maryq - Are you up celebrating yet? Glad you are getting your place back.

Jules - Glad you are feeling better. What kind of trip was it that Charley took her class on? I must have missed that.

Judi - I am happy you are feeling better. My cold that didn't go away ended up being asthma so luckily yours wasn't diagnosed as such. My mom was a big Red Wings fan like you.

SoozG - Love your fabric purchases. Looks like you are a fabric addict like the rest of us.

Well, better go get going. My son called last night and wanted to know if I wanted to go to Toledo to the casino today for something to do? At first I said no but then I thought it would be nice to get out again. He is taking me to P. F. Chang's for lunch. I have never eaten there so should be nice. He likes to play Texas Hold Em Poker and he wins quite a bit. I will play slots or Blackjack. It is nice to have him only 100 miles away. Of my 2 sons the one in the Marine Corps is most like his Dad and the one in Elkhart is most like me in our likes and dislikes. They are both Great sons and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Well better go get some breakfast. Have a good weekend all. prayers for all who need them.

Happy Mary Q's Freedom Day!!!

MARY - Happy moving day to you, Happy moving day to YOU, Happy MOVING DAY, dear Mary, Happy moving day to you!!!

JULES - We all knew Charley was special! (we had it on very good authority! ;o] ) I would say she has found her life's path. And You better stay inside and sew today, away from all the dust and allergens.

SUZETTE - I only got to to my sewing room just to straighten it up yesterday. The whole day was all about uglies. Ugh! But today I am ugly free - well, at least the house is. lol. I'm going to color my hair, too. The Texas sun bleached me out to a blonde. I get a shock every time I walk by a mirror. I need to get my red back!

LOIS - will you be able to get your baby quilt finished today? and what's your next project going to be?

SOOZ - I love all your fabrics! I think a DJ in 30's/40's fabric would be awesome. And as for slapping - you won't need anyone else to do that for you as you'll be doing it enough after jumping in! haha! Just kidding. It's a very satisfying project and you will come to love your Jane.

JUDI - love your description of your DGS - a 'rocket on skates'. I bet he loves having a gramma that shares his love of his sport. So happy you are on the mend and will live to sew another day!

SHERRY - sounds like a really nice day you have planned with your son! My son is a delightful mixture of both his dad and me. And I so enjoy spending time with him, too. Good luck at the casino! Maybe you'll be able to buy us all a new stash by tonite!!

IZZY - great fabrics you got! So cheerful and springy! I've never been to Paducah (though it's on my to-do list for 'someday'.) but I've been to Fabric Depot in Portland, OR. Their claim to fame is that they have an acre of fabric. And they do! And a husbands' lounge.

Got all my uglies done yesterday (well, reasonably done, anyway.) We are officially all done clearing out the travel stuff. when you go on the road for 3 months, it takes a lot of re-assimilating to get back to real life. Now I have a free day and it's just too soggy to work in the yard. Guess I'll be forced to go into my sewing room. I think I'll put my Sunbonnet Sue baby quilt in the frame and start quilting it. Baby is due end of May, so I should probably work on that one first. Last night I finished my first embroidered Hocus Pocus block. Only eleven left to go!

Hope you get thread on you today! And Mary Q - you know we're all thinking of the party at your house tonite!!

Mary z

Good Saturday!! Happy Dance for Maryq today. Tip a glass for her at 2PM remember????

Hope we get a Happy Report of departure!!!

I played around with my Birdhouse blocks and what fabric I have to see what I might do with them. I posted a couple of "idea" pictures in the "Swap" thread. If you take a little peek, give me your input.

Tina's quilt is on a previous page, if you want to find her picture to see what I was talking about with the nine patch.

I might get two small quilts from my block with this idea. We will see what happens when I get my sewing machine out again in a few weeks.

We just won't be settled in for the long haul until we get the RV back from the warranty work at the end of the month. And now, we are in a temporary site for a few days. I just hate it, that I can't get my pictures hung and decorations set. But I have to practice my patience. Right????

It will all come around in time.

Jule: I can just hear the happy in your typing voice about Charley. She is showing what a great teacher she has become!! Hats off to her.
I know you must be so proud!

I need to finish this post before I loose it all. My computer does strange things and I hit strange keys that make me loose I all.

Have a great Saturday
