Good Morning!

This is the Day the Lord has made, let us rejoice in it!

Well, once again my day yesterday was totally different than I planned. It was Iphone day. Yes everyone in my house got a Iphone. DH and I went to the Verizon store and it took a LONG time. Then last night Shannon came down to show her old parents how to use the things.... Well she showed Emily some stuff too so I don't feel too badly. There were a lot of giggles and eye rolling going on but we had fun. So now I do know what an APP is! LOL

Today is church and fellowship time for us.

Have a great day,
Vicky

Good morning!

VICKY - a round of i-phones! What fun for the family! All our kids have them, but we haven't progressed quite that far yet. Congratulations to you though! Where would we be without our kids (and grandkids!) lol!

MARY Q - any signs yet of any moving? I'd start talking up my plans for the room, i.e., painting, furniture, the Addams family is moving in - whatever sounds good!

LORI - I listen to mysteries mostly. Right now I have "Midnight Clear" by Mary Kay Andrews. Janet Evanovich's books are really fun to listen to because the reader is so animated.

CAROLE - your poor toe! But I bet it felt better as soon as it stopped hurting.

DH just told me a tidbit: Today sunrise is at 7:40 am and sunset is 7:40 pm. We're getting there, folks!

Yesterday was such a fun day! Autumn and I did some shopping, hitting a couple of thrift shops. I got a Chico's teeshirt, some monogrammed glasses for my DS, a grabbag of fabric scraps, and a cat-scratching post. Aut got a nearly new $250 pantsuit for $26. Then we had a fabulous lunch and hit the quilt shop on the way home. Autumn saw a Halloween quilt on the wall, and fell in love with it. It's called Hocuspocusville by Crabapple Hill Studio. Lots of hand embroidery, which I like. We picked out fabrics to go with, including backing. Now I have a project to dive into when I get home!

Last night, we had a nice happy hour with the neighbors and then wandered down to the clubhouse where they had a dance with 50's/60's music. DH and I love dancing so it was a fun day all around!

Today we'll start packing up our stuff. We'll be hitting the road in about 50 hours.

Hi to all who come after! Prayers for our Scrappy Pat.

Mary z

Good morning everyone.
I slept in this morning. Yesterday I got all the braids done for the Braid in a Day quilt. I just need to frame them and then join them. I also need to get fabric for the border. I realized I hadn't bought the fabric for the border. So, I see a trip to the LQS in my future. The one I am thinking about just started opening on Sundays today. How perfect. We are now under a winter storm warning for this storm that is coming. I sure don't know what we have done to Mother Nature but we must have really ticked her off. We have a park one house away from us and the kids haven't been sledding there since January. Pretty bad when kids get tired of the snow.all the school districts in our area have had to make up time somehow because they missed so much. Have a wonderful day.

Good Freezing Cold Morning...,...

It was so warm yesterday I pushed the heat way down. Boy was it cold in the house this morning. I Looked at the calendar this morning I have a quilt guild meeting today....fun. My red/white blocks are coming along including 'unsewing' 80 3 1/2" sq off my flying geese. Anyone need 80 3 1/2 sq's?
My goals today are sewing, meeting & finding out how to get Skype on the laptop so I can see my DD2 in Austin.

Vicky...thank you for this day Lord!!
Happy times to you & your IPhone's. It will be great for all of you to have the same .

Maryz....I never think of books on CD. I should check out the library & see what they have. I'm so happy for you & Autumn....sounds like a wonderful day. (:(: And the count down begins.......................

Lea.......Sun melted a lot of snow yesterday...How about you.

Suzette....I just heard on the radio you are getting 'snow'!! Sorry! You can send it to me. Happy shopping at the LQS today.

Judi.....yes, it does sound like you need to make it home soon. Clean clothes & food are both very important to health & travel. As a child I remember Sundays as day we couldn't run or make loud noise. I remember my mother & the nuns saying that. Really this was the premises was God doesn't like noise on his day of rest. That's right up there with 'no' patient leather shoes or men will look in them to see your undies....I love that one.

Becca....I'm sticking to the WW program. It's day 10 & on my scale says I'm down...6lb. I'll take it...LOL May your day be blessed too.

Love & Prayers to all in need & Pat......Kathy

Good morning all! Just a quick stop in this morning. I am going to have to take Otis back to the Recue Shelter. He got loose 3 times yesterday. Once while walking on the leash he saw a cat and broke his leash. It took us 1 hour to get him home. In the evening he got out under the fence by digging into the mud under the fence. We couldn't find him for over 3 hours. I fell down in the deep snow. Finally I left the gate open and he wandered back at 11:00 pm. I just can't take anymore chances of him getting loose. He also must have been really mistreated by some men. He is terrified of any man that comes in the house or that he sees. My son has been here for 2 days and he won't go near him he just wanders around. Other men that were visiting this week got the same treatment. I love him very much, but I can't keep him if he will not warm up to my sons and grandsons. So I have made the decision that I will have to return him though I hate to do it. Luckily it is a rescue so they won't kill him. He will just have to live his life out with the other dogs. This is a hard decision but it has to be done.

I am not going to even look for another dog for several months. I just have to learn to live with the quiet for awhile.

Thanks for all you support. This has ben a hard decision.

Maryz, that quilt will be very pretty. I love embroidery in quilts.

Judi, Safe travels.

Sherry, that's unfortunate about the dog. They should have told you that when you got him.

As for me it's off to work. I think I'm finally back in my time zone now. Not only did I go three hours ahead, but it was the Monday after DST.

Hope you all have a fabulous day.

Good morning! We woke up to SNOW! This is crazy! It was 70 degrees yesterday and supposed to be 60 tomorrow. Somehow we got a day of 30 and snow today. I’m going to meet my DD at Mom’s this afternoon, and my DGD will be spending some of her Spring Break with me. I have Nancy Drew charm packs for her to make a quilt to wrap around her when she is reading Nancy Drew books. She will love seeing the baby calves, too.

Vicky—don’t feel so bad! I’m the techie here, but the GKs show us all kinds of stuff. I don’t have an i-phone yet. You will have fun! Have a blessed day!

Sandy—yesterday was National Quilting day. I was in hopes of making it to the quilt shop but didn’t get there. I did, however, fondle fabric and look at quilt books with my mom. We have robins here.

Sherry—I’m soooo sorry about Otis. You’ve been through too much. Poor Otis, he must have been horrendously treated in his former life… I’m glad you have found a rescue for him.

Lori—I’ve gotten mixed up with the time change before. Takes awhile for your head to adjust. I wish it could stay daylight time year around.

Kathy—I’m sure you can find something to do with those 3.5” squares… they can always be cut into 2.5” squares… How about using them for cornerstones when you set your finished quilt? We couldn’t play hard or use scissors or even sew on Sunday. I think we were supposed to sit and read. It was sure hard when all the kids were playing baseball on the vacant lot down the street—I should have been there! I heard the patent leather shoe one, too. I hadn’t thought of those “rules” in years. Thanks for the giggle! Congrats on the WW! My friend lost 100 pounds with it and has kept off almost all of it.

Becca—my family is deprived! I may have to wait and give baby quilts. I’m sure you will find a new project soon.

Judi—safe travels to you! You are right about things being different when everything was closed on Sunday! We had a big Sunday dinner at Grandma’s, and sometimes my aunt would take my sisters and I for a drive and a 5-cent Dairy Queen ice cream cone in the afternoon. Back to church on Sunday night.

Suzette—I’m thinking Mother Nature is really mad at us here, too. We haven’t had enough snow for sledding here.

MaryZ—Sounds like you and Autumn had a wonderful day! Oh, I love the Crabapple Hill quilts! I don’t have any of the patterns but would love to do one. I really like the winter one of “Over the hills and through the woods…” or something like that. Safe travels to you!

I need to get some things moved in my sewing room, as that is where my DGD will be staying. I also need to get brunch started.

Have a blessed day!
