Good Morning Pals
You are all probably moody from missing an hour of sleep so I thought I would start by sharing a picture of Spencer on his 5th Birthday. His shirt says Rock Your Smile. He is still in need of daily prayer as he has Sensory Perception Disorder but he is such an awesome kid. He and Mom are headed up to Maryland to spend his birthday (really on the 16th) with both sets of DGrands while Dad starts the Outage at work (Duke Energy Plant). I will get to see them all next year when Courtney Graduates. Time is still flying - UGH.
Lots of drama this week and last week with trying to find the Superman Flannel for Spencer's quilt. Jo's finally got some in so DH and I went down to pick up 1.5 yrds plus 2 pillows, Tiny Stars for Wonder Woman Logo and some WOW (not that I needed that but I was there). I am supposed to receive my online order of it sommmmmmetime on Tuesday. Still think this was the best thing to do. Plus we met Ysabel, her son and DH which was a blessing to both of us. We ended up going to Texas Cattle for dinner. A great night that left us both smiling instead of being bummed.
Tooth is under contemplation daily of Packing or No-packing. We are hopefully getting to the end here but it is still open to air hitting the bone and nerves. Makes the side of my head from the jaw to the ear hurt and I still have to eat soft food that needs little to no chewing but he wants me to use a straw to keep anything away from the hole. Have you ever used a straw with Tomato Soup - LOL. I so needed my Ritz Crackers :( LOL
Hope you are all having a great weekend and you remembered to turn the clocks ahead. Me? I will get that lost hour of sleep back when I take a Nap :) BLESSINGS to you ALL!!!

Good morning.
Busy day here with church being here and all.

I had planned on sewing yesterday but after cleaning I wasn't up to it. I kind of hurt my back cleaning the tub :-( Maybe by tomorrow it will be better, we will see.

Blessings to everyone.

Good morning Vicky, Teresa and those that come later.
Yesterday was a beautiful day. I managed to get my uglies done and then went to the LQS and picked up a couple pieces of fabric and 2 patterns. One is for a couple of fabric purses. I found the perfect backing for a quilt I have made for our dogs. It hasn't been high on the list to finish. Last night we met friends for dinner and had a blast. We hadn't seen them in awhile. Well, I guess I better finish my coffee and get out to my studio. Have a wonderful day.

Vicky - I hope your back feels better
Teresa - lived the picture of your grandson's birthday

'Morning!

TERESA - happy birthday to Spencer. What a cute little guy. Love the saying on his shirt. and the cake is amazing! Hope that tooth gets better SOON!

VICKY - Happy Church Day! But feel badly about your back. Hope today it's better and tomorrow you're back in your sewing chair!

SUZ - All your uglies done AND a trip to the LQS? It's good to be you!

We had a wild T-storm last night with pouring rain. It lasted for several hours. This Texas can put on quite a show when it wants to! Today is a party for the 30th anniversary of my DD's library. There will be cupcakes. There will be parents of the librarians there, eating the cupcakes.

Crazy Jane is almost in the bag! At least the 150 5" blocks in the body of the quilt. I have 19 left to do. (I'm racing the SBS folks. tee hee.) And then 7 more rows to sew together. Of course, I haven't even started looking at the 52 triangle shaped blocks in the border. Maybe next winter. .

Scottie is getting just too big - 25#. We cut out his lunch. He's noticed.

ROCK YOUR SMILE!

Good Morning to all!

Yesterday, I got all my chores done, took a nice nap to try to help this cold/virus,then just chilled out the rest of the day and evening.

I think we are staying in and not going to church today. With this coughing so unpredictable, I do not want to risk giving something to others. And it is just awful to start coughing in a public place when it is expected to be quiet.

We are suppose to have lots of rain, so I just might set up my sewing machine and do some stitching today.

I want to say welcome to Joan our new member here. She posted late yesterday and maybe some of you have not met her just yet. She posted some lovely quilt pictures and was invited to join us here, so give her you welcomes.

Lyn, I am looking forward to seeing you back in Texas very soon.

Teresa: what a cute little man. Happy B-day. I know nothing of Sensory Perception Syndrome. Never even heard of it before. Where do they live? Are they in the East Coast area?

I miss seeing my grandkids, too. They bring so much joy to our lives. I really wish we could all live closer to each other. I hate the long distances, because it costs so much for travel and we just can’t be together often enough to suit me.

For all my other cotton pals. Please have a blessed day. Hope you get to hug some cotton or get a bunch of threads all over yourself today.

Hugs
Velda
HUGS, đź’• Vel

Good Morning,,,SUNSHINE 2 days in a row...now that is more like it. Ken and I will head to the beach this morning,,,We like to go at low tide, all the shells are visible. they are doing construction on my favorite board walk so we cannot get where I really like to go shelling. but will walk as close as we can...I think I will try a landscape quilt when I get all of my other projects done...I still hve to work on the Christmas quilts. I was thinking about a seascape...been taking pictures for that. just a small wall hanging...

Our trip is winding down as we will leave next thursday for a couple of days in Georgia and a very big quilt shop billed the largest in Georgia Bless the 2 husbands who cut Florida short an extra day so me and sis can get to that quilt shop.

Well I need to get dressed and get ready to go...come back for lunch and watch the hockey game. supper is up in the air and might even be out.

Hope you all have a great sunday....I do mss my grandkids though A lot. I feel bad for those of you who do not get to see yours,,,,been there,,,it is not fun,. love to all xxxooo

Good morning! Yesterday was a fun day—lousy weather (freezing rain and drizzle), but the company made it bearable. My friend learned how to bind her baby quilt, and I left her with instructions on how to hand sew the binding to the back. She also has a pattern for her next two quilts—queen size quilts for grandkids’ weddings.

Mom was doing well. She loved her placemat I’d made from a pack of sample fabrics using the mini tumbler template. She thought the pincushions were real cute and loved the 30s fabrics I’d used in them.

On to the grocery store. There I met a couple of friends who were shopping for a surprise party last night, and we were invited. It was for one of the volunteer firemen/EMTs who had just finished and passed his paramedic course. I came home and made a big cookie with the paramedic insignia on it and congratulations. Just had time enough to get it finished and get to the party. The food was delicious, the cookie was a hit, and a good time was had by all.

Today is laundry, cleaning around here… the usual stuff. I’ve had my bone density med, and am now sucking down my coffee.

Joan—Welcome to you! My son-in-law hails from St. Louis. I love the arch—finally got to go up in it a few years ago. I really enjoyed your quilts—the t-shirt quilts were so neat!

Vicky—hope that you will take it easy today and your back will feel better! That’s hard to say with church being at your house—hopefully everyone will pitch in and assist you!

Teresa—What a darling little guy! Love the sentiment on his shirt, too. I can tell he likes super heroes—cute cake!

Suzettee—how neat that you found all you were needing at the fabric store… and more! Time with friends is always good. Enjoy your day!

MaryZ—Will Laura Bush be there? Enjoy YOUR cupcakes!!! Crazy night! That kind of fireworks and show I can do without. You are really rocking with Crazy Jane! Odie is gaining too much weight and Tinker Bell is too skinny. It’s hard to keep Odie out of TB’s bowl.

Scrap48—Yippee for you—above freezing! Enjoy. I hope you won’t have broken pipes.

Becca—it’s the little things like sink stoppers that keep us calm. My sprayer doesn’t work. I got a new one, and DH installed it but it didn’t help. It needs more work, but somehow it never stays on his mind…

Velda—Enjoy your rainy sewing day! Staying in on a rainy day is a good idea. I really liked Joan’s t-shirt quilts!

Judi—Sounds like a perfect morning! How neat to make a quilt to celebrate your Florida time. What is the name of the quilt shop? Pictures would be fun…

After yesterday’s weather, today we are going for 60 and sunny. I can definitely handle that! The sun is burning off the heavy frost now, and everything is sparkling.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Good Morning Girls

Guess what? I get to SEW all day today!! Got all the chores done yesterday--laundry, vacuumed, cleaned kitchen, changed sheets, took a nap... TODAY I SEW.

On tap is getting the borders on Jen's quilt, and Lotto Blocks and maybe some R & W blocks--have lots of pieces all cut and ready to sew! Managed to haul a little furniture out of my sewing room, so at least I can get IN there--brought machine back downstairs.
Will plug in a movie and sew to my hearts content today!

Judi, Wow it seems like you just left for FL!! And you'll be on your way home soon! What wonderful DH's you have to plan a trip to the Quilt Shop in GA! Hope you find some wonderful stuff to bring home!

Teresa... Happy Birthday to Spencer.. What a cutie-pa-tootie! That cake is awesome..I bet he will LOVE your Super Hero quilt! I take it he is a Spiderman Fan? I have a clock here in my office that I never turned back last fall...so at least there is one clock in the house with the right time!

Velda... I think it was maybe Erma Bombeck that said "if I had known that grandkids were so much fun, I'd have had them first" I bet you are getting anxious to get back to IL to see yours.

Becca... Why is that... that it can take a few days to adjust to daylight savings? It's the small things sometimes that can make us happy... a new drain!

Maryz.... Yeah for cupcakes!!! When I retire, I want to work at a library, I love straightening books on the shelves. We have a local library in town, might just volunteer to read to kids there. When Jen was teaching in AZ I'd read to her kids and make up voices for all the characters. So fun!

Vicky.. Hope your back improves today... Hard to feel like doing anything when you hurt!

New Joan... Welcome to the best quilting group in the whole wide world. You will LOVE it here! These gals are amazing and I'm honored to call them my friends! Love the t-shirt quilt. I noticed one from Lakeville, MN. I live about 60 miles north of there! Hope you stop by often!

Chickie... supposed to hit the 40's here today, but I can hear the wind howling! Your quilting friend is very ambitious to want to make 2 queen size quilts!!

Guess if I'm going to sew today I better get in gear. Will sew a while, then I'm going to come up and make a big pot of chille for supper and lunches! I think the electricians will be back tomorrow to finish up my new lights. As soon as room mate moves out.. then the messy ceiling work starts.

Wishing you all a most wonderful day!
