Monday, March 3rd

Post by suzette58 » Sun Mar 02, 2014 11:12 pm

Good Icy morning.
It is really icy out this morning in my neck of the woods. The good thing is that I believe the snow totals have been cut back. We were supposed to get a foot. But, it is now down to 6-8". Everything is closed. Even the Federal Government. The road crews were not able to treat the roads because it stayed warm and we got rain. Well, radiation and probably signing the papers for our re-fi has been cancelled. I managed to get the baby quilt done and got started on sewing the binding on. At least I got it done before the baby was born. Have a great day and stay warm and dry.

Morning Suze....and all that follow :)

Suze - ooh be careful with that ice, glad things were cancelled and you don't feel you have to brave the icy roads and glad you've got the baby quilt done - well done xx

I need to pop to the post office for Charley later, but for now I'm sitting in my sewing room and planning new shelving......it's all Vicky's fault, after seeing those wonderful photos of her sewing room, I knew I ad to tackle mine :)

See you all later xx

The concert yesterday was wonderful. Emily and I both enjoyed.

Jules, I'm glad my sewing room has inspired you!
Thank you everyone for the comments! To think I was going to change the color of that room, Shannon and you all have changed my mind!

I even started the wings on the eagle yesterday. As you can see in the sewing room picture I have my Harley Davidson poster hanging in my room for inspiration. My kids all laugh when they go in there. I have to laugh myself LOL... I would LOVE to get this Harley quilt done and to a long armer to be quilted. I have other projects I would like to start and I would like to set aside a diaper day where I just make as many diapers as I can for Tia.
My other project list is like this:
A wall hanging for Shannon in the "primitive" Style.
My "hand" project for this year's challenge.
A nine patch leader/ender project
A two color hunter star
Oh this list could go on, these are just the tip of the ice berg so to speak.
I also have some other sewing projects like some mending that doesn't really make the "list."

So whats on your project list?

I have a busy day today outside the of the house so I doubt much sewing will get done.

Keep looking up!
Vicky

Jules - I am wanting to put different floor down in my studio. It is all Vicky's fault. :)

Good Morning!

It's 22* here in Austin. Wicked cold as I think they would say in Maine. With wind it feels like it's in the teens. Even with the furnace running all night it was only 48* in the trailer when we got up! It will be another sewing day - gosh darn it! Isn't that just too bad?

SUZ - sorry your appts are being cancelled but happy about your baby quilt!

VICKY - Loved your sewing room. Mine is so packed that sound is muffled.

JULES - Now I'm anxious to see how you are going to change yours. My DD here has a small credenza that the library has discarded. She has no more use for it at home either so she is giving it to me. It has little drawers in it, perfect for all kinds of things. DH isn't happy about it, but I'm dragging it home with me. I'd like it in my sewing room, but just not sure how to fit it in!

I have a list, too. I think I've done most everything on it, but it seems every time I scratch the last item off, another list forms itself. Good thing. Imagine having no quilts to make!! How boring that would be.

Today, for me, will be all about Dearest Crazy Jane. I'm making progress. Yesterday I worked on a block and kept messing it up. And last night I dreamed how it should go! I think it will work!

Stay warm!

Good Morning,,,We watched "Gravity" last night,,,,I didn't think it was a good movie at all. I love sandra Bullock but this was lame. We are headed to the "Y" today to work out. I don't want to go but ken makes me....at home I make him. Then the boys will go to a car museum after they drop nus off at the quilt shop. it is going up to 79 here today.

will come home and go to the beach to walk a bit...there are tons of shells on the ocean here,

we have the tent set up...and might sew in there and after bring my machine into the warm camper believe me Ken keeps the camper much warmer than home....it is also a lot more humid here,,,so I will watch "Jean the Machine" carefully.

Well I need some coffee...and maybe some cereal. kitty has been fed and is sitting in the door step watching "things" move around.

Hope you all have a great day,,,XXXOOO

Good snowy morning. Its 17 here feels like 4 with wind chill and we got 3/4 inch ice and so far about 2 inches snow. We are in the up to 8 inch window and its still falling.

DH just got truck deiced and is headed in to work. Poor thing took an hour. He will call once he makes it in. Usually a 30 min drive we shall see how long it takes him.

DD and I are home frozen in. Sewing for me and tv for DD:) She is starting to wake up so I will have to cut this short to get her up and going this am:)

Coffee is brewed. Choc cake made last night. Sewing room warming up. You all are welcome to come over for a sew in:))

Will probably be out of school til wed for sure. May cancel going to conference due to this weather and just do online CEUs for my license:))

God Bless and Happy thoughts
Izzy

Good morning,

Carol, thanks.. it's been a long time coming.. glad your fruit trees are doing well.. we have lots of buds and blooms but no fruit... I hope this rain lasts a long while.. glad you're safe from the slides.. I just dont' understand why some houses are built where they are..

Lyn, I bet it's a big big job you're having to do.. and it sounds like you know just who to call.. hope it's finished quickly.

Chickie.. thanks.. I hope DGS has/had a great birthday.. I love that you make them big cookies.. what a fun thing to anticipate coming to your house.. and a great memory to tell their grandkids about.. hope they all continue the tradition.

Suzette.. even though there is a snow day your treatments are almost over.. for me it went pretty quickly, hope it's the same for you.. congrats to your son...he must have worked hard...

Izzy, happy sewing day...

Jules, I am looking over my sewing room too... I need to be able to get to more sides of my cutting table so I can use it for basting a quilt...and my shelving also needs to be re-done.. happy trip to the post office.

Vicky, who is the Harley quilt for? when we re-do my sewing room I want new paint.. something bright...and a wood or tile floor...

Maryz.. a credneza will be wonderful.. tell Bill that hauling it will help with the weight distribution...Enjoy your Jane day.

Judi, I wonder if you made a small pillow, pin cushion sized, and put that scilica gel stuff in it if it would help with the moisture while your machine is packed? you know what I mean, that stuff you see in the shoe box when you buy a new pair of shoes...

today is Marilyn's actual birthday, they will sing happy birthday at lunch and she will get all embarrassed and there will be a little drama then she will go play at recess.. I guess I don't remember celebrating birthday's in school.. but times have changed.

you all have a super day today..

Good morning :-) not much going on here today, watching Easton and doing some uglies. I've been having kidney stone problems this weekend, still feel tender but if I take it easy I'll be ok.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.
Tina
