Monday, February 17

Post by suzette58 » Sun Feb 16, 2014 9:22 pm

Good morning everyone.
Well, I intended to finish the baby quilt yesterday but had no energy. I have spent the last 3 days shoveling snow so I have a place to park when I come home from work. I need to go back to work so I can relax. After treatment today I intend on finishing the quilt. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Suzette I am right there with you on the energy but without the snow. I did get the bathroom clean and the frogging of 2 - 2x88" borders on the Braid finished, steamed to get the needle holes gone and it is now pinned on the frame and ready. I was bound and determines even with 2 long days of a major toothache. I quilt for the more than receptionist and she made me an appt for 2pm today. I am exhausted as I took my drugs and my sleeping pill so I am off to bed.
Before I go though - can anyone remember a sampler quilt made by someone and one of the blocks was an 7-8 section circle? I saw it but I can remember and I can't find the picture :(
I also need to hear from DouceFleur1 - Denise; Purrfect-Lady - Mary and Billizzy - Izzy to see if they are in for the SP's. Anyone else who would like to join is more than welcome. You can join in as many or as few months as you would like. No pressure to do the whole year.
No I am off before I fall on my keyboard
HUGS to you all.

Morning girls

Suze - thats a lot of shovelling, hope you can rest now......happy sewing later xx

Teresa - ooh toothache.....I feel for you, hope it's all resolved today xx

The funeral is tomorrow.....we went to Olivers place of work yesterday afternoon, there is a big floral tribute there and we all went down, about 50 of us, and released red balloons with messages to Oliver tied to them - for once the rain stopped and the sun was shining, it was a lovely day :)

Charley is having to go to Wales and back today, she has a school trip there in a few weeks time so she has to go and do a recce of he places they will visit etc......it'll be a long day for her but it'll keep her mind off tomorrow, Ross has a full day of meetings today in London, so I am home all on my own for the day....I plan to sew all day and just settle in with my own company - bliss

Lots of love and prayers to you all, wishing you all a blessed, peaceful day xxxxx

Been visiting the garden catalogues online, thinking flower prices, and potatoes to plant. Looking what I can start in house ready, some are but a few dollars. Then, a free draw for a garden shed, OK!

Some hotel front desk jobs were avail, try for those few, tomorrow. Weather say better these few days, well all the same buses have heating. Kitten is flying nutso, guess that's an indication he can't wait to go outside. He saw me, jump in air, shook his head with those bright mischievous eyes. Come I want my jog...

Stay in PJ;s today, and sew lots..

Good Morning all. it is a bit chilly here in Atlanta but no snow either. We are headed to Florida today and the rest of our vacation...we will move to 3 different campgrounds but we are hapy with that,,,the first to weeks will be on the Atlantic ocean so I am good...second 2 weeks will move to another park near where a river and the ocean meet,,,the shells are plentiful and with the cold they have had we are hoping the no-seeum bugs are dead dead dead. Weather to be in the 70s....i am ready.

I even cannot wait to get my sewing projects out and my green singer to start sewing,,,LOL. Ken made me laugh when he was packing up the camper...I placed the bin of sewing stuff near the door for him to carry out. He picked it up and said with a shocked look on his face, "IS THIS ALL FABRIC ?" I smile and said yes it is...

Well I need to get dressed and packed up have a great day prayers and hugs,,,XXXOOO

Good Morning!

SUZETTE - You are some kind of woman!! Going through radiation, shoveling snow, working, quilting, and keeping hearth and home together. I wanna be you when I grow up!

TERESA - Hope you are feeling better soon. I will let you know about the SP when I decide. We are on the move again tomorrow and will be setting up a new camp soon. I am sewing some things of my own in my trailer but have limited space and supplies. I hesitate to make commitments to other people. When I decide you will be first to know.

JULES - you have had a rough couple of weeks. I so feel for you and your family. Safe travels for Charley. In 2003 we stayed at a B&B once in Wales. The view out the window was an ancient castle. You just don't get THAT every day!

LOIS - what will your new job be? Do you plan to take any days off for the quilt show? If so, will your new department let you take them off? When I got married in Jan of 1971, I switched departments at Weyerhaeuser Co. I had my vacation all set for a week's honeymoon but my new department made me come back to work on Friday of my honeymoon week. Ruined all our travel plans!

LEAH - perusing the garden catalogs is how my sis combats her winter blues. She buys very little from them, but loves looking at the flowers! Love your kitty's antics! Good luck on the job possibility. A prayer for you!

JUDI - just one tote of sewing? Ha! Ken got off lucky! He should talk to Bill! Or maybe he shouldn't.

Today will be a big day. I plan to finish the border on my baby quilt and pack it and the machine away. And then I'll just probably clean the trailer and sit outside and read. We learned a new domino game so we might try playing so we don't forget what we learned.

hugs for all!

Good Morning Girls

Though it really isn't that good up here! Snowing like crazy and blowing. About 6" expected last I heard. Will make driving to work a real challenge this morning. Definitely taking the back way to avoid the highway today! Hopefully by the time I get off tonight, the plows will have gone through and the roads will be in much better shape.

Had a pretty good weekend though. Didn't get as much closet cleaning done as I had hoped, but did get the laundry done and while that was running I got all the blocks done for Jen's quilt--all 80 of them. Laid them out on my bed to get the right match up. Just waiting for the border fabric to arrive. With a little luck I just might be able to take it with on the flight to AK in May! Even if I don't get the binding on, I could do that there! BTW, my little Elijah is walking already--at 9 and 1/2 months!!! Can't wait to see that little guy!

Wish I could stay and chat with y'all but I better jump in the shower and get ready for work. Am figuring it will take a little extra time to get there this morning.

Hope you all have a most wonderful day!

Good morning everyone ( or good afternoon to Jules),

SUZETTE - I am with MaryZ with being a WONDER WOMAN. Doing the shoveling and all the other things while under going radiation shows that you have stamina. My sister went through chemo and kept working. She did not get sick while doing the chemo and radiation. She was very strong, also

TERESA - Wow - quilting with a major toothache! I cannot imagine how you did it. Aren't modern meds wonderful?

JULES - Our thoughts are with you during the funeral of your nephew, Oliver. The release of the red balloons is a comforting way to remember him.

LOIS - Enjoy your day off! Sew to you hearts delight.

LEAH - Staying in your PJ's all day and looking through seed catalogs and dreaming of spring can be so resting. This winter does no want to quite. As for the kitty wanting out, our cat, Kelly, goes to the door, looks outside and sees snow piled up on both sides of the wheelchair ramp, turns around, and comes back. The snow is about 3 and half feet deep at the front door.

JUDI - All the to Atlanta already. My Ken would have said plenty about me taking that much fabric. He tolerates me buying fabric and yarn because I don't anything about tools.

MARYZ - I could sit outside and read but I would have to dig out the chairs from 2 feet of snow in the backyard and bundle up with 20 degree temps. The forecast is for 55 and storms by Thursday. Isn't that a good one?

Yesterday, I did get the machine out and repaired a shirt for a friend of our DD. To get my skills back up and running, I made 2 reversible bibs for the babies in our family. Got to look through the stash and found fabric I forgot about. I think they turned out pretty well for not doing any type of sewing for about a year. Plans for today - not sure yet.

Have a super Monday!!
Diana
