Sunday, February 16th

Post by TeresaK » Sat Feb 15, 2014 8:54 pm

A Very Blessed Morning to you
You know those words the best laid plans ... I always try to travel over here but then I get distracted. Time flies so I try to open as most of you are asleep and I can beat you to it.
Friday was an awesome day. Started with a phone call from my sweetest cyber-girlfriend in Florida. I put up a posting "Is there life after Children" and her husband answered and introduce his wife to me. After several months we met and have gotten together several times. Next year we will meet up in PA where they are moving to. Sorry jumped the track. She sent us a Black Angus Coupon for our Anniversary which is the first restaurant Rob took me to in AZ. So we went to see movie The Nut Job and then went to lunch. A couple that was sitting close to us did not use there coupon so with that and the GC we had a $62 lunch/dinner for $22!!! Then we went to Joann's and ran into Jamie who the night before said she was not going to share Valentines Day with me and Rob - LOL!!! I will try to post a picture (I am soooooooo far behind on posting pics) of the card he gave me. OMgosh it fits me to a T - even the name Sweetie which he calls me. I cracked up laughing. I can go on but I will end here.
I have been bound and determined to get the Braid Quilt back on the Frame by tomorrow and I just made it with the help of Shirley in WY. She showed me a different way to do the borders on a quilt using the computer. I practices and then did a final test on the 4 sections (Large and Small triangles, borders and the 2.5" blocks). Now I feel confident that I can do it especially now that my LA is up and running again. Needed a new black box in the carriage and a new belt motor so no more surging or errors!!!!!

Secret Pals for March is up and running. Join in anytime between now and the 28th. Names will go out on March 1st. Please tell me if you are in for the year or you will decide as I start it every other month. Take a look we are still early in the year :) :)

We have a NEWBIE in our midst. She posted an "Introduction" Thread over in Swaps... I know you will welcome her with Open Arms filled with Threads. We meet on Thursday over at Jamie and she was returning the QIAD Log Cabin book to Jamie. Well that was a huge open door and I just happened to be putting the triangles on the last 3 February Winning Hands Block. I just happened to have a set cut and ready to sew so we did it together. She went home and made 2 herself joining in this month. I was on cloud nine when I went home!!!!!

I feel I have have written a book so I will end here and go to bed. If you have asked me a question and I did not answer please ask again.
Have a peaceful Sunday, HUGS and BLESSINGS Always
T

OK, that was weird. When I opened this thread there was only one line on Teresa's post. I post, then she has a book above me. LOL

Good morning Teresa, Lyn and those that follow.
Never got around to posting yesterday. I did a few uglies and got to work on my nephew's baby quilt. I have 2 border strips to put on it and the top is done. I am going to piece the backing with stuff from stash. I do have to get the binding cut and sewn together and MAYBE it will be done in time for the shower next week. That is the nice thing about a baby quilt. It doesn't take long to finish. I will post a picture later today. Then I can finish their wedding quilt. One of these days I will get caught up. Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning Cotton Pals.

Lyn so sorry to hear about your house.
It really stinks when mother nature wreaks havock
on our lives. I still feel like I will never
get over what happened to us with the hurricane.

Suzette it sounds like you are moving along with your projects.

I have to get moving on some of mine too.

I have laundry to do today and then cleaning.

I am hoping to get into the sewing room today too

Have a wonderful day friends

I meant to tell you, if you have access to the March 2014 issue of HGTV magazine they have a wonderful article about organizing a craft room. It has some great ideas.

Wonder how far I'll get in my sewing today, haven't check forecast, but this fine gentleman at market yester, advised I must start shovelling little by little the snow close to house in order to save my own basement. After hearing the lady with flood problems, I will re-think his advice.

Boy is there a lot of snow, how I will get to the bottom I don't know. Least gentleman agreed that snow blower not the solution. He recognizes that I have the city grade snow along street which adds to dilemma..

Ladies we just want it to go away...

good Morning it is 639 am figuring no one would be up 28 here in KY we will head out to to breakfast and Atlanta today...hopefully we have a little warmer temps and water hook up/ it will be above freezing this year...I really hate this cold....by now I would be out of it. but this trip has been cold and eventful/ pray the rest of it goes better, cannot even cook or anything here without water...never thought of that when we left home. I have bottled but no running. Told Ken I will not travel if the south has this cold again next year. I usually love camping but not like this,

I hope all of you are having a better time..and a greater day. Prayers for all of you that your sunday be blessed eith something to smile about. XXXOOO

gOOD Morning!

TERESA - what a thoughtful friend! You've talked about moving when Rob retires. Would you be moving to PA to be near your friend?

LYN - so sorry to read about further damage to your house! If you have to fly up there, can you stay in it will you have to stay with family/friends? I hope it's a quick fix and that the insurance that I know you pay dearly for, comes through.

SUZETTE - if you have to be hehind in something, isn't it nice that it's sewing! I bet your baby quilt is cute.

DELORES - hope your "ugly" hours go quickly and your "sewing" hours float serenely by.

LEAH - I think that gentleman gave you good advice. When all that snow starts to melt, you will have a problem, especially if it melts fast.

JUDI - so sorry for your cold camping! Maybe you are heading the wrong direction. It's beautiful here in Austin and in 80's and even 90 in Yuma area. Several days ago I heard Atlanta was encased in ice and snow.

LOIS - so sorry to hear of more snow coming your way. Can you stay home in the snow or does your employer expect you to show up no matter what?

Yesterday I put my Sunbonnet Sues together for my baby quilt. I still need to add an outside border. I'm thinking either to make a scrappy border from bits of fabric I used in the Sues (all shades of various pinks) or go shopping for a new fabric all together.

Today, DD said she wants to do something together. But no details about what. We might go to the Outlet Stores in Round Rock (next town south of us). She loves Le Croucet cookware and I told her I'd buy her a piece for her birthday present and there is an outlet store there. So that could be her plan.

Hugs and prayers for all!
Mary Z
