Friday February 14th - HAPPY VALENTINE's DAY!!!!

Post by TeresaK » Thu Feb 13, 2014 8:40 pm

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to you ALL and HUGE BLESSINGs to those who are remembering all the wonderful memories of loved ones who have gone on to Heaven. They always have a place in our hearts forever.

It is our Anniversary today also. Who knew - 23 years!!!! I still get a kick out of the fact that some thought we wouldn't get past One. A marriage will work if you figure out how to handle the valleys so you can enjoy the peaks. Think we are doing OK :) We will be going to the movies to see The Nut Job and then to Red Lobster's for the Feast. Seems to fit us. We are definitely going Nuts - LOL!!!!!

Going to try again to encourage anyone to make a QIAD Winning Hands Block. I wrote out the instructions in a lower posting to make 1 block. This will help those that have small amounts of 4 different varieties of Red's fabric and a White on White. This is a FUN, QUICK Block and you could WIN an almost WHOLE Quilt of the Blocks by joining in on the FUN. Think about it. Still absolutely NO Pressure ever. Just encouragement to take a small bit of time to try something new :) :) Remember to scroll down till you see the blocks pals have made and the new instructions.

I have figured out how to make the borders on the Braid quilt so we are FINALLY good to go. The machine is fix except for a bit of surging BUT IT QUILTS - YEA!!! So now I will be going back and forth between the Appliguing and Rag Quilting the Marvel Comic Quilt and 4 pillows for Spencer's 5th Birthday to be mailed no later than March 8th and the Braid to be done by March 20th. DSIS is arriving on the 22nd but the Glendale Quilt show is the 21st.

I know I have been missing for a few days but only because I needed to make sure the computer worked and the appliquing was on the right road going forward. Already made one goof so I need to go back for some Black fabric or make sure I have enough yellow by Monday. Everytime I get on the computer I get lost in time. Always thinking and praying for all at momentary times throughout my day.

HUGE HUGS and BLESSINGS to you on the Special Day.

Happy Anniversary, Teresa!!! Sounds like you have some sewing to do...lol. I am hoping to get my Mystery Blocks done tonight. It should be a slow work night. I also have to sew a door stop tube thingy to block the draft from coming under Grandma's bathroom door while she is bathing... shouldn't take long.

I know what you mean about the computer stealing time... I found an online jigsaw site that has puzzles of quilt tops... two hours later...

Hope everyone has a lovely day. Hubby wants to have an early dinner at my fave Huntington Beach Mexican restaurant and then walk down to the beach to watch the sunset...I would honestly rather sleep but I am not going to discourage him from planning a date night!!! Life is too short!

Blessings to all and don't forget... my fave holiday tomorrow-
HALF PRICE CHOCOLATE DAY!!!!! WOOHOO!!!

Sooz with the sweet tooth!

Good morning Lois, Sooz, Teresa and those that follow.
Well, we finally had the plow come through late last night. But, the sad thing is our driveway was covered again. But, at least we can drive on our street. Now they are talking about more snow tonight. Needless to say I will cancel my radiation appointment. I have been getting a lot of work done on the baby quilt. I am making a pieced border for it. I have you tell you guys something funny. My husband came home from work and was telling me that one of our local news stations was doing a report from one of the airports. They showed a woman who they said was quilting. She was knitting. Hubby told me, " at least I know the difference".

Lois - I am glad you were able to get to work.
Sooz - have a great day
Teresa - Happy Anniversary

I forgot really about Valentines Day. I'm too sick to go anywhere and wouldn't feel like it anyway. But Happy Valentines to all of my forum friends.

I didn't end up sewing yesterday. It was a very bad day. No there's not anything else they can give me for this unless I want to be admitted and get the IV meds. No thanks...

So much for being on the "fringes" of the storm, it started snowing about 9:30 in the morning and didn't stop after dark last night. We got another four inches. I guess Caleb will have to go out this morning to do snow removal.

Have a good day,
Vicky

Tomorrow up early kitten attention, then head of YAHOO! to a Holiday Inn Quilt Market, via Transit. Have a quick bit to eat, rest my feet.
Return to review my small bag of purchase.. Then, it be home baking for rest of mth. Next great outing will wait till end March(quilt show).

A number of MPQ members were battling the cold last night, when you stay home something you don't have to deal with.. Guess, the flu bug is going around.

Good Morning!!

Teresa - Happy Anniversary! Hope you enjoy the movie and dinner. What a neat day to pick for a wedding!! 23! Woo Hoo! Keep on keeping ON!!!

Lois: Congratulations on remembering of your “engagement day”. 37 years Wow, so you have an anniversary coming up in about a month or so. Happy, Happy for you too!!
Enjoy your sewing projects.

SoozG: Enjoy your “date” night. I love the idea of ½ price Chocolate Day. I bet there will be plenty of ½ price candy on sale today. LOL

Suzette: Sorry you have to deal with so much snow. My silly son, who lives there near you somewhere, is loving all that snow. I guess it is because he grew up in Illinois, and would have memories of fun in the snow. He learned to drive there and knows how to handle the snow, but my other son that lives in Winston-Salem, NC, is like me and hates the stuff. LOL Oh well, it is what it is. We can’t control the weather, we have to take what we get when we get it.

Vicky: So sorry you are still not feeling better yet. What are you taking to help you through this?

Hope you all have a great day. Hugs to all of you, and prayers for the healing and mending of hearts, bones, bodies, spirits, and any needs that are out there that we have not heard about yet. We all send our LOVE!!!

Good Morning!

TERESA - Happy Anniversary. Enjoy your movie/dinner date.

VICKY - How long do you have to take your med? Is it vancomycin? It's a potent one. I sure hope you are able to tolerate it better as the days go by.

LOIS - Happy engagement anniversary!

SOOZ - I was thinking the same thing - half price chocolate day tomorrow!

SUZ - That's a good story about your hubby! Tell him we're all proud of him! You should take a few photos of your home in the pristine snow. It would make a perfect Christmas card for next year.

Today also our anniversary - 22 yrs. He's holding up fairly well under the circumstances - being married to me! lol! We're going back to DD's house today so he and my SIL can work on some house projects together. My SIL either doesn't know how, is afraid to try, or isn't interested in any chores around the house, but DH hopes he can get him to dive in because there's sure lots to do!

WE were going to early dinner at a Mexican restaurant with our friends tonite, but might not be back from DD's in time for that. So not sure what all our plans will include. I will be checking out DD's sewing machine. It "took a tumble" in the moving process. It's a sweet little machine and I hope it's OK.

Happy Valentine's to all my quilty buddies!

LEAH - enjoy the quilt show!

VELDA - Good thing your son loves snow, since, as you say, there's not much you can do with it. Just embrace it and decide to make the most of it.

Just a quick stop in this morning. I have to get my vacuuming done yet. My minister is coming here this afternoon to have a closure service for me. I have invited about 10 of our friends. I ordered a fruit tray and a meat and cheese cube tray for everyone. I felt I should serve a few refreshments since everyone is so nice to come. It is so quiet here without DH, and I keep thinking of things to tell him so I talk to him a lot. Thanks all for your prayers and thoughts. Thank God it is supposed to get into the 40's and 50's the middle of next week. I am so sick of this snow and cold.

Have a nice day all!. Will check back later and read all the posts.

Sherry
