Thursday February 6th

Post by SoozG » Wed Feb 05, 2014 9:55 pm

Horrible night at work last night... still sleepy and a bit cranky from a 10 hr shift of one issue after another. UGH. Shouldn't complain... I am lucky to have a good job that provides a comfortable living. Woke up with a headache and am hoping it passes quickly, before I have to leave for a call.

Looking forward to starting my Dresden plates... but have to finish this mug rug first. Anxiously awaiting Eleanor's next mystery block too!

Better run... I have chart audits to do... fun, fun, fun... NOT!

Good morning Sooz and those that follow.
Sorry you are having a rough work day. I woke up feeling like I am fighting a cold. My eyes are burning and my head feels clogged. Anyway. . . . Have to work today and I am hoping it goes quickly. Still working on the binding of Lydia's quilt. I thought I could bring it with me to radiation. But, I am usually early and if they have an opening before my scheduled appointment they slide me in. Which is nice. I am hoping to get into my studio tomorrow before radiation. I am almost finished with the braids for my nephew's wedding quilt. Once the braids are done it doesn't take long for the rest of the top. Have a wonderful day.

Sooz G- You work shift work? What is your work? Nurse?

Fabricgirl-and yourself, what line of work? Sometimes I miss not having work, but much has changed, workplace stressful now.. and funny weather doesn't seem to help any with snow, ice

Suzette58-Your having radiation, how long still do you know? How you keep upbeat, work and still feel like quilting is special. Work doesn't give you time off? I guess, you must pay for the medical assistance! What is your work? Shift work?

Hi ladies,

Looks like a bunch of early birds. Having a quick cup of coffee, then need to get breakfast. I am excited about our "day trip" (Lyn and I).
she asked me if I would like to "shop HOP" today.

Yippee. That will be so fun. Always have fun on a day out with my friend. Wonder what wonders, we will come home with????

Sooz: Hope your work and shift will be easier tody.

Lois: Hope you have a good day at work, too.

Suzette: Good luck on treatment, and hope you get some quality time in your shop, sewing away on your projects.

Leah: Hope you stay warm and cozy and enjoy the projects you are working on. So you are tackling the ol' Photo Bucket?? Hope you won, I know you have been really trying to get the hang of it. :) Good Job.

Have fun today!

Good Sunny Morning!!!

Today is my 1st WW meeting but I'm not sure if I'm going. MY street is plowed but there's still snow on it. I don't want to get stuck again.
Mt LQS is having a free 'come & knit' day on Sat I'm going so I can get started in the 3 sweaters for the American girl dolls my DGD has. This should be fun. Today I'll shovel, plan dinner & sew.

Sooz.....sorry about your bad night. Hope you feel better after some sleep. We're always here for you to express your self. Even the best job can be a pain.

Suzette.....I hope you're feeling better already. (:
It's always a surprise when you go to an appt & go in early.

Lois.....happy half day. How sweet DH is driving you.

Love & Prayers to all................Kathy

Velda.....today will be great fun for you.

Izzy......Another snow day?? Good for you! Sorry about I'm still organizing & collecting papers.

Sherry & Tina.....I'm keeping you & your Dads in my prayers.

Good morning it is 3 here,,,,I am starting to hate the cold more and more....We will go to the gym today,,,even in the cold it warms you up. especially after we ate out last night and I did not behave....so back at it today,

I will do a few uglies when I get home, 2 bathroooms need to be cleaned...laundry today too... then I will start block #4 of the christmas quilts. I am trying to get as many done as I can...In Florida I will just do the applique parts. (remember I am making 4 queen sized quilts each has 14 blocks.)ambitious but it might be the last time I tackle this beg a project,,,but I think they will like getting real Christmas quilts.

I also have to pull fabric from the scrap boxes for my FPP class this weekend. I may only make one block and turn it into a pillow. we shall see how it goes.

Well I need coffee and kitty needs food...have a wonderful day....stay warm...XXXOOO

Good Morning Girls

Guess I've been MIA for a few days...can't see to get myself up early enough to budget time for a chat before getting ready for work! Not much to report from here any way. "SSDD"---same stuff different day! Work, come home, crash, sleep, wake up, work etc etc etc. I did make a quick Joann run last night on the way home as it was Sr Citizen Day. Treated myself to a new cutting matt and a little more of the fun sashay yarn, and picked up the minke for a couple more scarf orders. Have tomorrow off, so after I force myself to go get groceries I'll stay in an sew.

Nothing new on the room mate front... I got home at 7:30 last night and she was already in bed. Have no idea how her apartment search is going--am scared to ask. She is off tomorrow too so maybe, just maybe she'll make an attempt to DO SOMETHING! I'm counting the days til April 1st!!!

Sooz.... .sorry to hear you had such a horrible night! I'm guessing your work at a hospital? What floor? Geriatrics? Surgery? L & D?
Hope you can recover and be ready to face another night!

Judi... Oh my gosh 4 QUEEN size quilts!!! I'm nervous just tackling the one I'm making for Jen. Am thinking of putting the drop borders on only 3 sides so that the top end doesn't have a drop on it. Does that make sense? the blocks I'm making are only 7.5", so will need lots! need to measure my bed-a queen size too- to see how many I'll really need

Izzy... Love all the pictures of your goats! Enjoy your day at home today with NO SCHOOL. Too bad you have to make up every day you've missed by going longer into June. In MN they build in a couple days for Snow Days into the year, just in case. But I think you've had way more snow days than we have had. Don't get me started on Taxes!!!

Velda.... I would SO love to join you and Lynn on a SHOP HOP!!! It would be nice to be some place WARM--even 60* would be wonderful too me! Hope you guys have a great time!!

Kathy... Good for you!! WW! One of the gals at work is on WW, so I'm trying to sort of follow along with her... once I get some decent food in the house! Where did you find patterns for AG Doll knit sweaters! I'd love to try that too!

Suzette.. how great they got you in early! I love to be early too! Sure hope you don't get the full blown cold! Does radiation make it harder to fight "bugs"?

Lois... good thing you have your own personal chauffer! Hope your day goes quickly so you can come home and sew--skip the uglies!

Tina... I missed the news about your Dad... I will add him to my prayer list!

Cindyg... Prayers for Don today too!

Guess I better head off to the shower now. Room mate paid her rent last night so need to stop at the bank and cash that check.

Just want to all to know, that even if I don't show up here a lot lately.... I think of you ALL every day and you are all in my thoughts and nightly prayers
