Sunday, February 2nd

Post by suzette58 » Sat Feb 01, 2014 9:28 pm

Good morning everyone.
I am up early because there is a water main break on the street behind us. You hear the jack hammer and trucks running. The water from this main ran just about all day. When my hubby called they told him that they were overwhelmed. The dogs aren't sleeping well either. So guess who else isn't sleeping well? I posted a couple new pictures of 3 of our grand kids over in photo thread yesterday. I got Lydia's quilt layered and ready to quilt. After I finish here I may just go out there and get started. Have a wonderful day.

suzette58- your grandbabies are gorgeous!

Picked up my new machine tonight... came home, packed away the old machine, and napped. When I woke up... ready to sew alllll night... found out she didn't give me a bobbin!! My kingdom for an all night quilt shop!!!

I will have to run to the sewing machine center at Joann's tomorrow and pray they have Viking bobbins... pleeeease!!!

Sooo... I spent the last three hours ironing and cutting. I cut 20 batik fat quarters into dresden plate pieces... it darn near killed me to cut into them!

I also cut the strips for the Feb LOTTO block. Now I am off to the living room to curl up with the catties and watch the sewing shows that record on Saturday mornings.

HUGS to all! Ohhh.... does anyone here like paper piecing? Ordered a pattern from Etsy... and it looks yummy!

Soooz - I can't believe that they didn't give you any bobbins with a brand new machine. I'll cross my fingers for you about Joann's. At least they open early. Isn't it funny we buy fabric to make quilts but don't like to cut some of the fabrics. Thanks about the grand kids pictures

Groundhog day and here is the report:
At 7:25 a.m. Sunday, a raw, cloudy and damp morning, Groundhog Phil saw his shadow in the small town of Punxsutawney, Pa.
The appearance of Phil’s shadow means winter will extend well into March according to folklore. Had Phil not seen his shadow, it would have meant spring is around the corner.
Phil’s prediction may depress residents in the eastern U.S., weary from repeated outbreaks of arctic air.

Now I want groundhog stew LOL

Hope you all have a great day to sew. We are to get 2 to 5 in of snow by early morning so I guess that lil hog was right:)

God Bless and happy thoughts
Izzy

Sooz I would have thrown a fit. Oh and the Teresa that El talks about is not the one on here. You will probably see her next show. She has long black hair and a spanish accent sew sweet she is El's asst. Great gal:))

Suzette hope you get water soon in pipes not out:)

This groundhog has not seen her shadow but I was out before sun came up. But I am betting on more winter. yuck. Some nice neighbor came to my rescue and plowed my driveway for me.

I am going out to lunch to celebrate my birthday and then to a local quilt shop who has a super bowl sale. I won a 200 dollar prize last fall on our local shop hop. I guess this would be a good time to use part of it.

Good morning!!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! I don't really get excited about it, I just try to make it fun for the guys. DD#2 invited us to her house. The only catch is...I bring the food. We're having carne asada, macaroni salad and maybe some spanish rice...the grands call it "orange rice". Maybe we'll get to see Drew walk.

Suzette, those are some mighty cute gkids.

Sooz, the Viking Center inside Joann's sells the bobbins. They are a separate entity. I have a Designer 1 and get most of my supplies there.

Well, the cooler weather has come (low 60's and 30's in the mornings).
For most of you that's probably a heat wave!

I see the light at the end of the tunnel for my studies...yay!
I have to get started making a baby quilt for my nieces' baby boy.
The theme is rustic and outdoorsy...fox, deer, black bear. The colors are, tans, beige, grey and burnt orange???? I've made an appt. to see her and the nursery on wed. to get a better idea. The baby is due first week of March.

Sooz, I love paper piecing, I like the result. I took a class many years ago and haven't forgotten it.

Well my friends, I have to get started on the mac salad. Super Bowl is just another excuse to see my Jay and Drew.

Wishing you a fun day. My thoughts are still with those who have lost loved ones and those that are feeling poorly.

Love, Lucie

No groundhog news in Canada yet, maybe someone had him for supper.
Cat goes nxt door to grumpies see if is life on Mars.. Took awhile! He's back meowing his happy song.

Yester had batch of spring rolls, today I'm up 6am dodled up ready for job search and visit to Hill Top research see if have some studies for me to do...TV, for news, AH OH! we are Sunday.. I'm not going back to bed, do my groceries today, (stores open at 11am) on Sunday here..

1st time with my darning foot experience went OK! Used some really sparkly thread on the Xblock you see in the photo from earlier.

Maybe, like myself groundhog is a little confused? All the same, he won't bother us for another 6 weeks in the gardens.

The water problem was not ours. It was on the street behind us. Our water department was bought by a neighboring county. And they have dealt with nothing but waterline breaks because the weather has been so cold. Well, I better get back out to my studio and get back to work on Lydia's quilt.
