Sat morn..

Post by scrapquilter48 » Fri Jan 31, 2014 11:21 pm

During week noticed government boots footsteps on my walk...Thinking, a tragedy? Neighbor injury? City trying to read meter? In this forever cold, one does wonder..

To my surprise purulator courier delivering 3-X-block ruler package, and pattern, token of thanks for promoting her product and book... What a great gift on a Friday. All the trouble shop owner would go through and cost of package while my own family can't even visit or send a Xmas card at Xmas.. Money isn't their issue for they drown in it and get sick over money.. Then, on top I brave the cold that morn
to purchase a darning foot for my machine. Watched the tutorials they make everything so easy..

Now, does it matter what weather I receive, with food in storage, a few next pajama days, no answering the door, Shawna Twain and Celione Dion CD's playing hello fun time in my well electric heater room.

I'm in the tropics, WINE COOLER ANYONE?

Good morning everyone.
Yesterday my son and I had a wonderful time. I even got to stop by a new local quilt shop. It is 5 minutes from my house and has some of the most wonderful fabrics. Plus it is so bright. You could really see the true colors of the fabrics. The owner thought of everything. She even had a nice sitting area for hubbies and sons as well as a couple of play things for kids. When I came home I went out to my studio and put away all the fabric my friend gave me and worked on my nephew's wedding quilt. Today I am hoping to get to layer Lydia's quilt. The weather is supposed to cooperate today. So I can set up on the deck. Cross your fingers for me. Have a great day.

Jules: so sorry for your loss. I know the empty feeling, cause I lost a nephew this week as well. (massive heart attack at age 51). When tragedy strikes like this, it is such a shock!! I feel so bad for your sister and you too. It's so hard to come to understanding why these things happen.
Just know we all share in your loss and lift you up in prayers.

I want to thank all the pals here for remembering all of us who are grieving and those who are suffering with illnesses and other pains with teeth and broken hearts, broken bones, broken spirits.

We have a GREAT group here. Hugs to all of you.

Have a good weekend.

Good Morning,,,,Condolances to all the families with deaths...We woke to more snow....I looked out the window and told Ken it had snowed over night and he just growled and turn back over. It is 830 here and I think the old bear has decided to hybernate, we are expecting 4 inches but 35 will melt a lot of it...

I worked on the Christrmas quilts yesterday and did a few uglies. Today it is Mt Washmore and cleaning the 2 bathrooms. I traced block number 3 on fusible, these appliques have a ton of tine pieces....fun but time consuming, I am trying to get 3 blocks (x 4 quilts) done, We will stay home from the gym today as there are tons of kids there on Saturday,,,let them have it today,

Headed to the kitchen to coffee and kitty is whining....XXXOOO

Good Sunny Morning,

No matter what I did I just couldn't get into sewing yesterday. I did finish my 'red work' pillow cases. So that's something. Today is uglies & NPR. Then I'll try sewing again.

Sarap48......what a wonderful surprise for you!! What promoting did you do for her? You're right about tutorials...you can learn so much when you can see what going on.

Suzette.....sounds like a wonderful day with your son. I've only seen one shop that catered to DH , DS & children. It was in Walnut Creek CA. What a wonderful shop.

Dear Jules......My heart is breaking for you & your family. I read the link you posted. Just know you are in our prayers.

Velda......Oh my dear I'm so sad to hear to hear of you loss. You & your family are in my prayers also.

Becca.....Oh that ice is so slippery. I have to come to a complete stop before I turn into my road, it's all ice. The 50s should help a lot. Enjoy the game.

Judi......More Snow!!! I just checked the weather ch & it coming my way. I'm ready the shovel, sand & ice melt are right next garage door.
With snow you are required to quilt.......(:

Mepiece2......good idea for you to stay home. Sorry you can't do dinner.

Love & prayers to all...............Kathy

Good Saturday morning! We have ice coating everything, so I am staying put inside today. I called my friend and cancelled and will call Mom in a little bit. Yesterday was gloomy and drizzly (freezing), so I stayed inside and did laundry all day.

Scrap48—Good morning! You are a night owl. What a fabulous gift you received! I’ve never used the x-block patterns or rulers. There are some really cute patterns. I’ll look forward to your creations. Meanwhile, I’ll look up the 3-X block. I hear what you are saying about family, too.

Suzette—what a delightful day you had! I like the quilt shops that have a ā€œnon-quilterā€ corner. Have a fun day!

Jules—good to see you posting. I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. I hope you find peace in your piecing… no puns. It’s how women have worked through sorrows for hundreds of years. HUGS!!!

Velda—we do have a great group. Again, I am so sorry for your loss, too. It’s so difficult to deal with death of any kind, but sudden death is so devastating to all around him. HUGS!!!

Becca—Your 50s sound like heaven to me today! I’ve never tried a netti pot… I hate water in my nose or eyes. I’m afraid I’ve been eating just to get rid of the crud in my throat and have been gaining weight that I’m not happy with. Now I’m whining and really have no reason when I hear about everyone else’s real problems.

Judi—I just want to hibernate, too. I threw out birdseed and about fell off the porch. I know the birds are happy. The cardinals are so beautiful, and we have flocks of juncos, goldfinches, and so many different sparrows. It’s a feeding frenzy! Tell Ken I’m growling here, too. Enjoy your day!

ME—We are expecting snow Tuesday and Friday and Saturday. They are calling for ā€œsignificant accumulationā€. That doesn’t bode well. Stay in, stay safe, and gripe with me!

Izzy—Your Celtic mystery quilt sounds neat! You get so much accomplished. I feel like a giant slug. Enjoy your day!

I’m going to check out my ā€œSaturday cartoonsā€ (quilt shows) and suck down my coffee. First, I’ll call Mom. I was going to try maybe to go to the little quilt shop 30 miles from here—it’s their anniversary—but the roads aren’t very good. When they opened, they had to post-pone their opening when it snowed 10ā€ three years ago.

Enjoy today!
