Almost Wednesday the 29th. Close enough!

Hey all- had a few minutes before the start of my shift... thought I would start the thread, (even if it is still the 28th!)I survived my training class, ugh. Woke up thinking about hexies. Have always wanted to try and think I will. But not until I get my Mystery blocks done. I already have enough projects in my head that aren't started/finished. I am hoping for a slow shift, as last night ended a bit on the crazy side and I still have charting to finish. I know I already have two visits... let's hope that's all!
Teresa- looking forward to seeking pics from the quilt show. I have seen a few of the quilts from local friends but always in need of more inspiration. Enjoy that baby!!
karpet- I have those microwave slippers! Someone gave them to me as a gag gift for Christmas! Haven't tried them yet...lol. Your dog picture made me LOL. So cute!
izzy- glad your new teeth are in the making! Hope DD is all better... I haven't had White Castle in ages- all I remember is being in the potty the whole next day after eating them! lol
Irishgram- Glad you are feeling better!
grammiequilts- don't save room for me for the Florida run. I have my own demented step-kitties and there are too many bugs in FL for me!
scrapquilter48- I love the feel of the sun in the winter... definately a new experience for me. I have never purchased a jellyroll but just watched a quilt show on tv that used one. Will have to put it on my wish list!
Quiltmom- HUGS! Losing my dear pupper a few years ago was one of the hardest things... I still tear up when I see a chihuahua that looks like her.
lucies- good luck with your studies. It used to be so easy to learn new things but the older I get, the harder it is for me! I need to get back to working on my BSN but am putting it off... not looking forward ot it.
dforseth- ugh...laundry... my least favorite of the household necessities- I am grateful to have a washer/dryer in this apartment tho- I dislike laundramats even more than laundry!
cindyg- make sure to post pics of your embroidered log cabin blocks! I wanna see!!!
jana- pass on that quilting knowledge! Way to go! I taught all three of my boys when they were young enough to want to know but none of them decided to pursue it. I love to see generations of people quilting together!
farmchick- stay warm on that frozen prairie!
Weeone- tell me about your beading group! I have beads and have done some things- my fave was a project called the Beaded Pendant of Blindness and Insanity...lol.
maryq- old quilts are such treasures. I have pieces of a crazy quilt my great aunt started. I am hoping someday to finish squares of it. It's packed away waiting for me to get motivated.
KATHYSQUILTS- My mom said when I was 4 or 5, the only record I ever wanted to get out of the library was one by Pete Seeger. She would return it and it would come back to our house a few weeks later. I have always liked folk music and acoustic guitar and admired him greatly for his stand on things. His music is woven into many lives.
grammiesquilts- isn't it amazing how many memories a quilt can hold? My children refuse to let go of the quilts my mom made them as children. They are ratty and have been repaired over and over but the memories they hold arejust too precious even for my big grown men!
becca- I can't always keep everyone's posts straight either. I either take notes or open a word document while I am reading along- just so I make sure I comment on the right person..lol.
marilynsgrammy- I think a swap list would be a great idea! My friends and I used to get together once a year and swap our craft crap- we called it the annual swap-a-ganza! Sometimes we would end up with our own stuff back again...lol.
msdeets- dealing with drs and insurance makes me want to scream! Glad things got worked out. My Mom used to go to Lancaster...she loved it there. I have only been to one big show. It was the last International Quilt Festival in Long Beach last year and it happened to be on my birthday- just a week after I moved out here. Mom and I went for the day and it was AMAZING! I didn't know where to turn first!
fabricgirl- hope your grill comes! We have a grill right outside our apartment that the complex keeps up. They supply the propane and it gets cleaned everyday. It's one of the perks of paying a fortune to live here...lol.
mellowmayking- you are a late night sewer? or just a night owl? I used to stay up half the night sewing when my kids were little.
Blessings one and all.... enjoy the day!
