Good morning Jules and those that follow.
You know it is a wonder how much can get done when we are able to spend time in our sewing rooms. I was able to finish the rows of Lydia's baby quilt. All I have to do now is sew them together and put the border on it. I just went out to my studio and turned off the space heater so it won't get too hot before I get out there today. We are taking the Christmas tree down today. It is not supposed to rain so we can get everything outside to the shed where it is stored without getting soaked. Have a wonderful day. I will check back later.
Jules - my hubby will come in my studio and tell me that he is checking on me.

Good Morning everyone,
It is a cold 18 here this morning. There is a beautiful sky this morning. Stars and moon are bright, heavy frost on the ground, deer have appeared near our garden, and ofcourse I can't sleep. Oh it would be nice if I could sleep until 6....

I have a day of sewing in mind for today. I need to get back to my SBS blocks, but Bonnie's mystery is calling me. Redtop

Good Morning Cotton Pals

Well there is a chill in the air.

I did get all of my laundry done yesterday and today I have to bake a cake to bring to my daughters house. Tomorrow we are celebrating Joe's birthday. They are going to fire up the pizza oven. I love the pizza from the wood fired pizza oven. They even make their own dough.

Joe made one request for his birthday he wants to go to Perkins for his birthday breakfast with his cousins so that is what we are going to do tomorrow morning.

I cant believe all of the hustle and bustle and its all over except for the clean up.

I hope to start up on my quilt I have 14 blocks made for it, ] had stored all of the Christmas gifts in my sewing room so now it is emptied out again.

Have a wonderful day

Happy Healthy New Year for all of my cotton Pals and their families.

Dolores

Good Morning,

SHARONA - I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your aunt. Did she live close to you? Can you choose one memory of hers that is your favorite? Prayers for all your family and for her soul.

JULES - hope you get to play all day long with that beautiful Christmas gift you received!

SUZ - I can't wait to see a picture of Lydia's quilt all finished!

TESS - These days I'm happy if I can sleep past 0500. If it's not Scottie needing to go out, it's Riley pawing at my face for her breakfast. And on the odd morning they both 'sleep in', it's my bladder that gets me up. Hope you got some sleep!

DELORES - happy birthday to your Joe!

Today will be taking down more Christmas. I might take stock of what's in the trailer today. DH had it up on jacks yesterday, checking wheels, brakes, bearings, and such, so I couldn't go inside. But once he's finished with that today, we'll start hauling things out. I've also been playing with fabrics, trying to choose what might look good in my new quilting project. Every day is filled to the max!

Hope your day involves fabric!

Good MOrning Jules and all my dear quilting friends. Good luck with that "no interruptions" idea. Doesn't work at my house when I am sewing either.

Congrats on the new grandbabies arrivals on here lately. All such beautiful little miracles. You have been blessed with the best gifts of all, a baby to hug and hold and love and watch them grow.

We are moved into our new home now. Still lots of boxes to unpack, especially all my quilting and sewing boxes. Will set up 2nd bedroom for sewing and hobby room with a bed for naps and company. Perfect place to sew and look out window and daydream too.

Had Christmas at my house and so enjoyed being around lots of family again. Our 2 DGDs (in 20's) bought Rod a very nice large elec griddle for Christmas. He was so surprised but wanted one so badly. Then they promptly ordered choc chip pancakes next time they come for breakfast. LOL Some of our kids got gift cards for us to buy things we need for our home. And slippers with rubber soles so we can walk outside in them if needed. Love those things.

But the best thing of all was a call Christmas night. My brother up in Nebr called to let me know he was bringing furniture down that my sister had left from her MIL. He has a pickup and he brought along my sister too.

What a wonderful day after Christmas surprise. I hadn't seen either of them for 2 1/2 yrs. Their spouses couldn't come but we had such a wonderful reunion. Best Christmas present I could have received. They stayed overnight too and we hit a bunch of thrift stores fri am before we had lunch and they headed back to Nebraska.

Need to get busy. Hope to be back to reading your delightful stories each day. You all have done so many pretty projects this year. Hope to do some of my own next year.

May God bless you all today and all thru out 2014. Sending lots of love and hugs across the miles and prayers for all in need.

Shirley Mae

Please go to chit chat and read the msg "A Special Thank You." It was posted by Lynne/Spudmom. She so needs our prayers and hugs and words of hope right now. She recently lost her best friend JO to cancer. And now she lost another friend on Christmas day.

I have met Lynne and she is such a delightful person, so loving and caring to those around her. Be an "El's Angel" and take time to let her know how much we care. May God bless all of you and prayers for your needs today too.

Hugs and love to all, Shirley Mae
