Good morning from the. Texas panhandle where it is 8* with a wind chill of -4. We don't usually have temps this cold. I am about to leave for work. I am hoping the patient count will be down and no employees want to be "the princess", we have some who think Debbie can and will cook WHATEVER they want on the weekend even if not on our menu!
I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning Jules, Debbie and those that follow.
Today is going to be a busy day. Have to go grocery shopping and then get ready for my nephew's wedding. It has stopped raining here but tomorrow everything is supposed to change. Snow, ice, sleet. The whole bag. But, that makes for a good studio day. At least I am off Monday so I don't have to deal with the roads. I mentioned this yesterday but I do not have to start my Tamoxifan until March. The doctor did tell me that it can cause hot flashes. I hope not. I had enough of that with menopause. Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning everyone

Lois-Now you have Elna you'll be sewing like mad. I love my Elna

Suzettee--I've been shopping too for Christmas--cream cheese, nuts, chocolate, peanut butter, confectioners sugar, and etc. I don't remember how I got started making all these sweets, but extended family loves it. They don't bake...

Debbie--My, my what cold temperate. Soup would be good in that weather

Can I complain??? Dh and I were at Walmart yesterday. I usually don't buy much fabric there, but I ALWAYS have to look in that section of the store. I found the most beautiful purple. Just HAD to have a piece. I waited and waited for someone to cut it for me and when she finally arrived she said, "Well, I can't cut fabric we just sold 16 bikes." Ok I think that sure makes my small amount of fabric seem useless. She whizzed off in a rush and never to be seen again. It was alright, I understood BUT after thinking about it--she wasn't the only person in the store who cut fabric. Even tho my sale was a fraction of the bikes, I have a right to buy anything off the shelf too. That's my limited time to Whine.

Has anyone joined Bonnie Hunter's Celtic Solstice Mystery??? I have sooo many projects started, but I just couldn't help myself. I have never joined any mysteries and I thought what is one more started quilt. I'm starting late and the 2nd clue is posted and I haven't started on the 1st clue. Could I use the excuse of not having the ruler set until yesterday??

Good morning everyone :-) I was told that today there's a craft show so I think I'm going to check it out. Couldn't sleep past 4 so I gave up and just got up.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.

Boy, Tess: That makes me mad, just reading your post. I am NOT the silent one, I would have marched right up to the service counter, bolt in hand and told them that I need to see the manager. That kind of service is uncalled for!!!!

I was treated like that once at the photo counter, when I wanted to make a scanned copy of a photo. They made a big fuss about not being able to do it because of a copyright. It was my own photo, just an old, old, picture. Finally got a manager and got the problem solved.

Anyway, hope you have better service next time, don't be afraid to demand good service.

Happy day to all the rest of you.
Suzette: glad you can wait to take the BIG meds. Cross one bridge before you have to add another.

It's Saturday and I don't have much going on now that I finished my Christmas gifts. I think I will drag out some Christmas fabric and play with the Lotto block for this month.

If you haven't checked out the pattern that Teresa has found for this month, please do take a look. It seems very easy and wouldn't it be fun to WIN a stack of blocks to make a NEW Christmas quilt??

Lois and Izzy: This pattern was thanks to Lyn (WeeOne). She ordered the kits of accessories for us. Fabrics were cut from our stashes.
You use a fusible web for laying out the squares, then folding the grid and sewing vertical and then horizontal rows, is how you assemble. Great fun.

Have some fun today

Good Icy Morning,

Looks like I'll be sanding the driveway before I leave for my quilt class. I'll just have to go on faith that the roads will be fine.
I have all my fabric cut just need to pack up. The class runs from 10 to 4 so I should come with a finished top if not more they have us bringing in backing & batting.

Love & Prayers to all in need.....Kathy

Good morning all/ It is 18 and we are supposed to get show showers today...We are headed out in a few for Sophia's first dance recital...the 2 minutes of fame. We are hoping she at least bows....but you never know...She did her routine for me and it is adorable....so if she doesn't do it on stage I at least know what she was supposed to do.

You all sound so busy I need to go and read back a bit seems I missed a few. I wrapped what was here while watching the Red Wings, game and they won....more confirmations of hipping in my Email today,,,I have 3 gifts to buy as I had to send 2 back....(the perils of shopping on line)

Will head to the worlds worst store today (TOYS R US) One of the gifts was for Liam. It was cute but too young for him. I will give it to the toys for tots...

Not much sewing here,,,,I need to get my class blocks done...but cannot seem to find the time.....well maybe today,,, as the baking is done and in the freezer. This will be the last class and I do need to get the top together,,,I am excited to get it done too. it will be a summer quilt for my bed....then on to start next years Christmas quilts. Well gotta run you all have a great day and I am praying for you...XXXOOO

Good Morning!

JULES - And what are you making for those pretty nieces?

DEBBIE - Brrrr!! You are COLD - especially considering we all think of Texas as a place to go for warmth! Good luck at work today with the princess-wanna-be's!

SUZ - enjoy the wedding! There are herbal treatments for hot flashes. I've never tried them, but have wondered how effective they are. And I also wonder if your doc would consider them if your med gives you problems. And if they wouldn't react to the tomoxifen.

LOIS - sewing when there is nothing else nagging at you is, for me, better than laying out on a beach!

TESS - I bet that mystery quilt will be gorgeous. I love Bonnie Hunter. I used to bake 12 different cookies and/or candies every year. It was tradition. I bake less nowadays an yesterday, I found those tins of Danish butter cookies on sale for $1.99. I bought 12 tins to give away and that's my baking - all done! lol! If I bake, I eat. And if I gain one more pound, my doctor will skin me. I wonder how much skin weighs. . .

TINA - I love craft shows. I think there's one at our Eagles Auxiliary today, and a big one at the high school 1/2 mile down the road. but I don't think I'll make either one of them.

VELDA - love your Santa faces! What did you use for the beard? It looks like boa material! They are so cute!

KATHY - I didn't know you were taking a quilting class. It sounds like fun. Hope the roads are good for you!

JUDI - you are already talking of starting next year's Christmas quilts?!? What a woman!!

Today is my birthday club Birthday/Christmas lunch. There are four of us former co-workers and we've been getting together a few times a year for a couple of decades. We have two March bds and two December bd's. Sometimes we get together in the summer just for some nice weather. It's also Photos With Santa for Dogs Day at Petco and also at a private pet shop here in town. I'm not sure I'll have time to go, but DH is going to take Scottie even if I can't.

Other than that, a few uglies today will be in order, I think. We're having a dinner party for 8 tomorrow night. I've got quite a list of things to do.

REembering all those who need prayers. I would like to think Christmas prayers are even more powerful!
