Monday, December 2

Post by TeresaK » Sun Dec 01, 2013 7:50 pm

Good morning Pals and welcome to Cyber Monday.
Yesterday started off really rough as all the fuzzy lint I inhaled from quilting the fleece made me sound like a very very very low base. Even a very hot shower and cups of tea didn't take it away until late in the day. Still coughing a bit but nothing to big. It now has the binding sewn on and is ready to be flipped. While I was doing that Rob was installing the QuiltPath computer onto my Annabelle. She did very well and is happy. No bucking at all :) :)
Today is the Rheumatoid dr appt that Courtney wants me to go to. Hmmmm we shall see. Whatever makes her happy :) :) :)
Hope you all have a great Monday. Not to hectic and you enjoy cyber shopping :):)
HUGE HUGS!!!

Good morning Teresa and those that follow.
It felt so good to get out in my studio yesterday. I managed to get some more blocks done for the baby quilt and even squared up the Christmas blocks from the swap. I did manage to sleep pretty well last night. I drank some Sleepy Time tea and it worked. I did wake up during the night but I came out to the couch and went right back to sleep. I am so glad cause I have to go to work today. Back to the real world. Have a wonderful day.

Teresa - I am glad that Annabelle liked her new computer. Anything to make life easy for her. :)

Lois - it makes it much easier to go back to work when you know it supports our habits. Glad you are coming along with your foot.

Hello and Good Monday Morning. I know it is Cyber Monday, and lots of deals. But I don't have that much to shop on line for. I do want to get a couple of things for the Grandchildren. I suppose I will sniff around later and see if I find anything that trips my trigger.

Mostly it will be machine quilting day. I first have to make a trip to get another spool of maroon thread. Then I will get back to the table runners and keep working on them. I do have one completed. I want to wait until I get them all finished, then I will share a completed picture.

Suzette: Hope you don't get too tired on your first day back to work.

Teresa: Not familiar with "Annabelle" is this your LA? So, now you have a computer connected to it? Or did you get a NEW computer to replace an old one?
Glad it is all working out for you. Wow, can't believe that lint got down into your lungs like that.

Lois: You are really making progress and healing. So glad to hear that. PT really makes a lot of difference in the healing process.

Did anyone watch the Hallmark movie last night? Hallmark does a great job with them. I also love ALL of the commercials.

Don't know much else this morning. Maybe I will drop back later and see who else is around today.

Hugs

Good morning.. today I go back to work after a long weekend in my slippers...it will be a good day.

Sharona, glad your kids are ok... after your move and packing and unpacking I wouldn't be up for a big Christmas decorating or shopping party either... did you old house sell?

Maryq.. I sure hope Marilyn's sassyness is a phase.. glad your scarves are coming along... do you double up the mineke? are they long or short? I have made scarves from fleece...would like to see yours.

Kathy, can't believe your grands are that old... glad the shuttle ride went well... I agree with you on some of the Hallmark channel movies, and they all have constant music in the background too..

Tina, I want to see frozen too but someone's attitude dosent deserve a movie..guess we will wait for the video...we also put up the tree yesterday.

Chrissy, looks like your holiday was wonderful, glad your grands were there..

O'Dorothy, nice of Jim to make waffles.. I would put jam on mine.. I am not much of a syrup person...I know Marilyn is going through a phase... she is the most grounded kid around... we ran out of things to take away so yesterday she got to rake the leaves.. we have five acres of oak trees so there are lots of leaves... she did 45 minutes of hard labor...

Sherry, sorry for the church minister stuff going on for you... hopefully it all works out...we had church issues a while back and I made a pro/con list.. the only pro item I could come up with is it was a convenient church to go to..

Dolores... wow, how to tell a story... amazing how one changed word can affect the outcome and anxiety level of everyone involved... glad all is well...guess we need to make cell phone area's so people can pull over and sit while using the phone.. kind of like a bus stop in each store.

Suzette, hope you get that quilt made for Christmas.. I never have that kind of time...lol...

Teresa, there's no stopping you now.. a computer on your quilter... let us know how the doc appt goes.

Lois, sounds like a nice yesterday for you... hope the 13th comes soon...

Velda, we won't have much Christmas shopping here either.. just for the kids.. Jerry just painted the house and we need to put in flooring yet so the $$ won't flow freely from here.. he and I give eachother a little something for under the tree but we surely don't spend the way we used to.

Becca, it must cost a fortune to mail so far away...

I need to get a box ready to mail... and go to the bank for grandma.. seems we over paid her hospital bill by $1.31 and they sent us a check, she said I could keep it...lol...

hope you all have a great day.

Good Morning!

SUZ - I hope you can get your quilt together today. I'm snuggled up with mine on the couch even as we "speak" and I love having it for the holiday. I have the one from 2-1/2 yrs ago in my family family room . You can never have too many Christmas quilts!

DELORES - We saw a story on the news about the number of cases in the E.R. of texting and walking.

TERESA - you sound skeptical about going to this doctor.

DELORES - Are you having any kind of pain still? This has been a long seige for you. Hope you can drive soon.

VELDA - we watched A Hallmark movie last night, but it was one we taped a a few days ago about an ad exec who lost her job and became a nanny for her competitor for a big accouont. They are nice movies.

BECCA - hope you're feeling better soon. Especially to get that important package in the mail!

CHRISS - we're not doing a lot of shopping either. Bill and I figure we got our Christmas present back in Sept when a certain little black terror came to take over our lives. Nice of Gramma to let you have the "overflow" for your time and trouble! lol!

Yesterday I worked a bit on my koi wall hanging. I don't have a pattern so I'm just going by a picture I saw on the internet. It's almost got me buffalo'd but I'm sticking with it. Then I took DH to Urgent Care. Last week he accidentally ran into the big recycling container with his foot. The big toe nail turned black and is now oozing blood, but doc thinks he'll live without any intervention. Then we took Warren and Lois a little Christmas tree, took Scottie to puppy play time at Petco, came home, made dinner, and worked on Christmas cards while watching TV.

This morning I go for another dental procedure to open up my gum to expose the two posts they implanted last June, prior to getting my final teeth in the spring. Then a blood draw, off to buy a birthday gift, then home to vacuum and work on my wallhanging. Another full day. Just hope it doesn't contain any more unscheduled doctor visits!

Good Morning Girls

Yep, it's Monday... back to work for me today too! But the weekend was a good one, got lots done and even managed to squeeze in some grocery shopping and Christmas Shopping. Still have lots more shopping to do, but that will wait until this weekend after pay day!

Teresa, you will be happy to know that I made all my Lotto blocks over the weekend too! So fun and a nice break from sewing scarves. May be you'll have to wear a mask when you work with fleece? Good to hear the computer works well with Annabelle. Is it one of those computer thingees that you can set to stitch and walk away and it quilts all by itself? I have seen those at Quilt shows and been amazed! One of these days I'm going to make Jen a quilt--you up for it?

Velda... My e-mail box was full of advertising for Cyber Monday this morning.. I deleted it all! If my young DS is still into Steven King books, I might check out Amazon for that. But I think I prefer real shopping. For oldest son I'm headed to the Hardware Store--his wife says he needs more duct tape!

Chriss.. The minke scarves are so easy! You just cut 13" wide by WOF, sew seam, making a long tube, twist it 3 times and sew the ends together by tucking one end inside the other and stitching it down!
Friday when I went to Joann they had mikne 40% off! I get 40" and get 3 scarves out of that! Maybe tonight I'll take a photo and post!

Becca... I think it's cloudy here today too, but can't tell for sure as the sun isn't quite up yet! There's a good layer of frost every where tho--sure glad my car is in the garage so I don't have to scrape windows! A thank you to your DGS for his service!

Suzette.. Glad the tea worked. I rarely have trouble falling asleep, but I might just have to get some of that tea to try. Hope your day at work goes quickly so you can get back to that baby quilt!

Lois... Hope your Elna enjoys her spa treatment. I have an Elna too and the poor thing is in such need of a few days at the spa too, but I just can't seem to let her go! Even tho I have a couple other machines here, none of them do what she can!

Oh my gosh, girls I just looked out the window and it's SNOWING like crazy! Just checked the local TV station web site... rain and snow possible with high's in the upper 30's. Cross your fingers that we don't get INCHES of it and I have to drive home on slippery roads! If I didn't have to go to work today I would think this is really pretty!

Speaking of which, I better get going and get in the shower. It's 8:am and room mate has to be to work at 9 and she isn't even up yet!
I'm trying to get up the courage to discuss her plans for moving with her...any suggestions? And how do I get her to clean up her stuff! I was downstairs sewing and was going to quick use her bathroom instead up running upstairs... it was so gross and dirty--the toilet is BLACK!
I don't think she's cleaned it since she moved in in May! She got home from her weekend last night, cleaned up the litter box and then sat on the couch ALL night! Her bedroom smells! AACCKKK.

Okay enough of that.. time to fly

Wishing you all a most wonderful day!

Good Foggy Chilly Morning....

Yesterday I got a lot of sewing done on toppers & aprons. Today will be more of the same & a late appointment with the new dentist. I hope I like him, I went to my old one for 40 years. Darn why are there so many large numbers in my life now.....LOL

Teresa....have you ever tried medical masks while you're quilting? It's a shame you have to suffer with fuzzy lungs. Best of luck with your Dr appt.

Suzette....prayers for a smooth work day. I need to get some of that tea I have been having difficulties falling a sleep. I'll put it on my list.

Lois.....DD1's Dr broke her heart when he told her she'll not be going back to work this month. I'm happy you had a good visit with you friend. I can't wait to make quilty friends.

Velda.....I need to shop at Amazon for me DGC maybe I should do it today. Have a productive quilting day.

Becca....I hope your feeling better asap.

Love & Prayers to all in need

Kathy
