Good morning,

I'm heading out in a while to do my Black Friday shopping.
I did most of it on line last night but I have to go Lowes to buy the poinsettias for the girls. Darryl buys them each a poinsettia every year. Since Darryl is going to be in the woods hunting I will go get them. Emily also wants to go to Penney's for something.

We had a great family time yesterday. Of course I ate too much and feel a little blah this morning.

I feel like I have forgotten my sewing room! But after my father leaves on Sunday I should be able to get back in there.

Have a great day,
Vicky

Happy Black Friday to you all! Unable to sleep after all those treats so thought I'd come see what's up here. Only us and the grandkids yesterday so a quiet day. Dad chose to stay home. Really busy these days with work, DGS, church and scouts so don't get here much anymore. So I guess I am taking a little me time (too bad it's 2AM or I could do more!)

Guess I will try to go back to sleep now. Have a wonderful shopping day all!

Good morning Vicky and those that follow.
The only Black Friday shopping I am planning to do is the LQS. I just saw on the news that there was a stabbing in Tazwell, VA over a parking space. So far, I am like Vicky shopping online. After going to the LQS and picking up a couple things at the grocery I am coming home and camping out in my studio. I may get the top done on our grand daughter's baby quilt. You never know. I am waiting for her to come so I can do a special label with her birthdate, name, etc. have a wonderful day and be safe.

Good Morning cotton Pals

Well last night on our way home from my
sons house we rode past the Walmart. It
looked really bad there I feel bad for the
employees there. They get the lowest pay out
of all of the retailers and Walmart makes millions.

I dread having to go to Walmart. I ordered site to
store stuff last week and it is now in to be picked up UGH...

Today I will finish up some of the bag I am making
for my girlfriend.

I am already planning my Christmas day dinner.
It is getting real old when we go to our sons house
and I make stuff for dinner and we are the only ones that
eat it. I made acorn squash filled with apples carrots celery craisons and walnuts. I thought it was really good but no one else ate it but my husband my self and my son. They are into getting pre made foods from Wegmans and trader Joes.

I like to cook everything my self.

Sorry for ranting on but it made me crazy.

My day will be mine today.

It isn't that cold today.
No shopping except for on line.

Have a wonderful restful day everyone.

Dolores

Good morning.. wasn't that the best turkey day ever? I can't think of a turkey we ever had that produced so much gravy.. and I had two cans just incase...lol...

Vicky.. you are brave to tackle BF... there may be a little bit of crazy mixed in that brave...lol... I did BF one time and had my fill... but if you'd swing by here and pick up Marilyn she'd like to go...she's crazy brave too.

Val, how fun that the grands wanted to stay with grandma...some of my best memories are of staying with grandma.

Suzette, it's crazy out there.. people camp out to save $30 on the video game... I looked at all the ads twice and only see slippers...my LQS is closed today so I would have to shop at Joanns or hobby lobby...

Dolores, your acorn squash recipe sounds wonderful... bet a little wild rice in the mix would be good too... I love veggies...sorry the others eat pre-made food but with all the preservatives in pre made foods they likely won't get wrinkles... I would wait till tomorrow for the WalMart trip.

I am off to my room to play... Jerry is doing laundry and her highness is still nestled all snug in her bed...

you all have a safe day,
Chriss

Good morning everyone. Glad to hear you all had a good Thanksgiving. We ate too much here. Today I am not going anywhere near stores to shop. I will do some shopping online.

Vicky - Have fun! DH and I went out once for BF shopping and I swore I would never do it again.

Hate to contradict anyone, but Walmart workers are paid better than the networks keep telling you. I worked for 28 years for a unionized major national grocery chain and our workers made anywhere from $2.00 to $3.00 less than the Walmart employees. I am not a big fan of Walmart stores, but I hate it the way the news people keep saying they are so underpaid. It just isn't true for all their employees. Guess I better get off my "soapbox".

Guess I better go get some breakfast for DH. Hope everyone has a good day, and enjoy your family time.

ood Morning!

What a great day we had yesterday! My 16 yo grandson cooked the entire meal by himself and it was as good as any gramma could cook! Then we played a game and finally headed home about 8:30. Such a nice day, but I did miss my two younger babies.

VICKY - I've done Black Friday once, years ago. And the energy is fun and there are some good sales. But not good enough to entice me out there ever again! But you have fun!

VAL - good to see you! Glad you had a nice day with your DGK's. Hope you were able to get back to sleep!

SUZ - hope you have a nice relaxing day in your studio. how are you feeling? When do you go back to work?

DELORES - I hear ya, girlfriend! It's discouraging to spend so much time and money and effort making what you think is something special and then have no one eat it. But I guess it leaves you the sweet leftovers!

CHRISS - you did more than I did! I didn't even look at ads. Of course, we don't get a newspaper anymore so I didn't have any ads to look at! What are you going to work on in your sewing room? I can't even get into my sewing room right now! It collects all the fallout from my decorating frenzy.. Loved your photos you posted yesterday! Good looking kids!

SHERRY - The news media does skew their presentation on stories like that. We dont' have a WM close to us, but when we travel, we use them quite a lot. and we've been known to occasionally hunker for a night in our RV in their parking lots, too.

IZZY - happy to hear Miracle and Peanut are bonding. We have Phase-10, too, but last night we played Fill Or Bust. I was NOT the champion. But I had a rockin' good time!

Well, our plan today is to go get our Christmas tree up in the mountains. However, we are going to call the ranger station first, if it's open, and check weather conditions at the higher elevations. If they are bad, I guess we'll go to a tree farm and cut one there.

Whatever you do today - enjoy!!

Good Morning,,,,Did it once never again,,,I hate shopping most days so BF would kill me.....my DD and her MIL and Sils go early and stay late...My blood pressure goes up just thinking about it....My sis calls it dear hunting for girls...

I have a list of on line stuff I need to get at but haven't yet....might do that today.

Lit the christmas lights on the house last night and they were so pretty,,,Ken now has them hooked up to a timer so they go on at 5 and turn off at 11... I will try to get the fall decor down today and prepar for the village on the mantle...Not much new in my village but I did buy a little tiny manger to go next to the church, no new houses...unless I want to retire some pieces. They have become quite expensive and I haven't seem anything I cannot live without....of course if I see a quilt shop I would have to buy it.

this weekend will be decorating a little at a time....

We had a great 2 day dinner but I too am feeling sluggish and low energy I am sure due to the diet busting we did for 2 nights n a row. Food was so good. Light meals this week for sure. we don't even have any leftovers...I declined both nights....so back to healthy eating for us....

hope you are all safe shopping,,,,XXXOOO

JUDI - what village pieces do you collect? We have a very good Christmas shop here in G.H. in an old house and the entire basement level is devoted to villages. While I'm not a collector, I do love to see other folks' little snowy towns!
