Monday October 21

Post by suzette58 » Sun Oct 20, 2013 10:08 pm

Good morning everyone.
I made the applesauce cake yesterday and then went out to my studio for the entire morning. It was wonderful. No interruptions, nothing. Just me and the sewing machines, and fabric. Today after work I will go back out there and enjoy myself. It is almost like therapy!! It is very cool this morning. It is only 45. So it is good that I bought my long sleeve shirts down from the attic on Saturday. Have a wonderful day. I will check back later.

Yesterday I woke up again with a HUGE head of Cotton and swollen eyes that finally drained (nose and eyes) around 12:30pm. So even though I knew it would be pushing the body way beyond what I should be doing I decided to go into the room and do a major overhaul of cleaning. Inside and out. Under and Over. I finished at 10:30pm with a stop for dinner, Nascar Race and a short Nap. My DD would be so proud. I hate that my body moves so slow but at least I can say it is done for now anyway. I just hope I can move when I wake up later today and the swelling in my hands go down. I do plan on taking a Benydryl.

All Lotto Pals - last week to make your blocks and mail by Friday / Saturday at the latest unless you are on the West Coast.

I did ask a question over in photos. I am trying to find the instructions to make this star but I can't find them and I am not sure if Eleanor has a tutorial on it. So if you can take a peek and let me know I would be Happy Dancing. I know I have seen it somewhere and I know it was made by someone a few months ago in the Lotto's :)

Mary - Love your desk!!!! and thrilled you had a great time with your family.

This is all the hands will do for now. My apologize.
HUGE HUGS and BLESSINGS for a GREAT MONDAY

I just realized I won't be sewing today. I have a class about nutrition and cancer. This place is part of the hospital and has all kinds of classes that are free. There are exercise, food, dealing with having cancer. It's called Life with Cancer. They even have a quilting group but is during the day on Tuesdays and I work then. Oh well, I can always sew tomorrow.

Good morning everyone. It's back to work for me today. My back is still tight and pulling, so hope I can make it through the day.

Suz-Good luck at your class today. Sorry you won't be able to sew.

Lois-Take it easy. Wouldn't want you to have a relapse. Prayers continue for your healing process.

Teresa-Sorry you are feeling bad. Will say prayers for you throughout the day.

Time to get myself out the door to defrost my car. May God be with each one today.

Mary/Rosebud

Good morning everyone.
applesauce cake sounds wo nd earful and I bet it smelled so good
I am so proud of all of you, your strength and determination sets the standards we should all live by .
Myles ate a little food yesterday at dinner time, and it stayed down. YAH HOO!
Prayers and positive thoughts going out to all in need.
Travel safely and return often.
Dolores, thank you so much. I am glad that I didn't send the Marine fleece love knots blanket, because when Shannon posted some photos last nite on Facebook, they already have oneOh, here is something really pinkiliciously wonderful. Yesterday. Less than three weeks after Torrie had her double mastectomy, she did a strides for breast cancer walk with her friend. She is trying to send the photo to my email I have them on my phone but my phone is generic so I can't transfer them . She has lots ahead of her like so many pink warriors, but her faith is unbelievable.

Good Morning Girls

Still dark here...and cold... would be a great day to crawl back into my nice warm bed. But... I have to go back to work today! Will be a little shorter this week as I have Friday off before I have to work the weekend. Jen and family go back to AK tonight and DEX is taking them to the airport---thinking they might be able to stop by my work on the way so I can get a few more hugs and kisses!

Teresa.... Gosh I hope you feel better soon! I know I have seen that star pattern, I just can't remember where! I looked at Quilter's Cache but didn't see it there. Doesn't look to hard to figure out tho, mostly HST's with a square middle.

Lois... Take it easy today, pace yourself with your sewing! Sew a little, rest a little, sew a little.

Chrissy... Congratulations to Torrie for doing the BC walk!!! She's amazing! Prayers for her continued recovery! And YEAH for Myles to keep some food down--we have to celebrate even small victories!

MaryR.... Hope your work day goes quickly... and they your back holds out and you get through the day without pain!

Suzette... oh yes spending time in the sewing studio is GREAT therapy--for what ever ails you! Even in my little sewing room I can feel the endorphins working when I sew. Hope you find you class this afternoon interesting and helpful for what lies ahead for you. Thinking/praying for you often!

Guess I better go for now, hit the shower and get ready for work. Need to see if there's anything in the fridge to bring for lunch. Haven't cooked all week, so there isn't even any left overs!

Wishing you all a most wonderful day!

Suz - it's wonderful that you got to spend quiet time with your machines. I hope you are comforted by going to that group. I bet they can give tons of information.

Teresa - sorry about your cotton head but glad you finally drained. I spent a LITTLE time cleaning my sewing hole yesterday, too. I just have too many projects lined up with pattern and fabric tied together. I have no where to put them except the closet but if I put them in there they may never get done. Out of sight, out of mind.

Lois - well, at least you have your dining room and you did get to get in there yesterday if only for an hour. Maybe a little longer today?

Rosebud - defrost your car from ice? Gosh, it's 67 here this morning.

Chrissy1 - WOW Torrie is really amazing. Such determination. Glad Myles could keep a little food down.

Chriss - I know all about that busy stuff - for you especially since you have a kid. Mine's year end stuff.

Maryq - sorry Jen is leaving today. I know you'll miss them. A lot of the time my lunch consists of popcorn and a Dr Pepper.

Well, Sue and I enjoyed our little outing on Saturday. We went to the quilt shop, had lunch, shopped at Charming Charley's, and sat at my kitchen table drinking coffee. After Sue left I got the borders put on my Sunflower Dresden Plate quilt so now I'm doing a little extra with the borders - I'm a glutton for punishment. I also washed fabric and ironed it and got started on my Christmas panel quilt yesterday after I cleared off my cutting table a bit. I sure let things get in a mess. My Schatzi is still sick so DH is taking her to the vet this evening. Praying it's nothing serious - she just had her 7th birthday on Oct. 12. Gotta run.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good Sunny Cold Morning....

Yesterday's quilt meeting was very interesting. First I couldn't find it & went home for the directions. So I got there late & the meeting had started. I so didn't want to miss the 'meet & greet' time. So I slipped in the back row....for free! The speaker on red work never showed & didn't call. There are at least 3 male quilters in this group. One of them stepped up and did a Q&A session. He said he is an international know quilter....Hallester Turnbolt(not sure about the spelling). He was very entertaining & well loved in the group. I still have my pillow cases. I didn't see any place to drop them off.
I worked on pink blocks & made packages up for my DD's.

Suzette...this is the perfect time of year for applesauce cake. If I still worked I'd make my apple cake.....but no work to share it with. For all the challengers that come to us in this life we are fortunate to have quilting to turn to. Let us know is you learn anything new.

Teresa.....Sorry to see you are under the weather again. I hope the Benydryl works.

Lois....good luck with your sewing. I tried it yesterday with my left foot, it was a little choppy. Have you tried that?

Mary/rosebud....defrost??? You're temps must have dropped. Have a good work day.

Chrissy1.....Happy news about Myles. How long do they think he'll be in the hospital? He's in my prayers each day. Torrie is a woman of strength!!!

Chriss....have a fast & smooth day at work.

Maryq....i liked you desk. I'm sure it will be filled up soon with all you most needed supplies.

Cindyg.....it does sound like a wonderful Saturday outing. So sorry to hear you dog is sick...the Dr sounds like the best idea.

Well I'm off to dress & go to the PO & LQS.

Love & prayers to all in need.......Kathy
