Good morning Pals
Going to be a long night on the couch for me. I can't seem to stop coughing and Rob is so tired. I don't want to wake him up. Yesterday was filled with finishing up the cradle sheets in between going in and out of the house taking pictures of the work being done to fix the City water pipe. I posted pictures over in the Photo Section as an OT.
Today will be making some pink/white blocks to get off to Grammiequilts and making some more Braid blocks. All the centers are done but now I need to add the triangles on both sides to make them a block. I don't know why it is taking me so long to do this. I feel like I am draggin my feet.
Some wonderful News we received from Jenifer. She was just granted a promotion at work. She works for USAA. Her cases will have higher claim handling and liability. What is also great about this company is that they have a daycare that she will use when she goes back to work after the baby comes which will be est January 9th.
Prayers for many of you who are going through some very emotional rough journeys. My heart is with you and I know the hands of the Lord are with you as well. May you be wrapped in his peace as He guides you through this time.
Hope you all have some wonderful plans for the weekend filled with many pieceful moments.
HUGE HUGS

Good morning Teresa and those that follow.
When I have coughing fits I drink lukewarm tap water and it relaxes the bronchial tubes. A pediatrician told me that when my son was small and had a bad cold. Today is my hubby's birthday. We are having the family up on Sunday for dinner. Hopefully the rain will stop tomorrow so the kids can go outside or to the park. Today I have uglies to get done, a few trips up Mt. Washmore. Then I hope to get outside and work in my studio. I have some Breast Cancer blocks to make and also want to get started on my nephew's wedding quilt. So, I have a full day ahead. Have a wonderful day.
Teresa - I hope you were able to sleep last night. Take it easy.

morning all.....I was up and out early this morning, DH dragged me off to the spa for a swim and then we had breakfast there, a nice healthy fruit salad and yogurt for me
the sun is shining today and I'm just hoping that it lasts until tomorrow....I have my nieces for a 2 night sleepover, little Analise has already been on the phone this morning telling me how excited she is, she then tried to tell me she wasn't feeling well, so she could stay off school today and i could go over early and collect her.....theres no flies on that girl, believe me LOL
Teresa _ I can sympathize with the coughing, i cough loads with my asthma and it completely wears me out, hope it eases for you soon
Suze - happy birthday to your DH and wishing you a wonderful weekend with family, hoping the weather dries up for you
Well I'm going to get back to some sewing before the girls come and I won't have a minute to myself.....if I don't get back before they go home, I wish you all a wonderful weekend, sending lots of love and prayers for you all xxxx

Goodmorning!
Hope your cough gets better quick. I hate it when I get that. It takes me foreeeeevveerr to get over it!!! Sounds like you have too many projects to work on and do not know which one to do first. When that happens to me, I have to make a written list and then take one at a time and get them checked off.
Suzette: Well, Happy B-day to your DH!!! Hope you have a fun weekend with the family.
Jules: Good Day to you, too. I saw your post over on Shirley Mar's report. So I know you are around.
Shirley Mae: I am so happy that you had some good news to share.
Prayer to continue.
Yesterday, I had the most fun fishing of the whole summer. The bass were not biting, so I picked up my smaller rig (ultra light) Smaller bait, lighter line, etc. I caught crappie, white bass, blue gil, and also a small walley. I was having so much fun. I didn't care that it wasn't bass. I was catching fish and that was the FUN. I ended up with 11 fish all together. It was all catch and release, so we didn't have to clean any fish. With the government shut down, all the fish cleaning stations are closed anyway. Then we gave Willy his monthly bath and he is so nice and clean and silky. I love the feel of his fur after a bath.
We went out fishing again in the evening, so I didn't do any laundry or cleaning. I will do that stuff today. I got lucky again in the evening and caught about six more fish. Some of them were really nice size crappie. I would have really loved to keep them and clean them, but maybe next year.

It's too late in the year now, to put fish in the freezer. I always like to have my grocery/food used down to a min. before traveling. It saves weight. Then we go and get grocery when we get there and stock our shelves back.
That was too weird. I hit the "return" button and it posted my message, instead of just going to a new line. So I guess that is a clue that I had jabbered long enough LOL
Have a great day, everyone.
Velda

Good Morning.....
There's no breeze this morning...the lake is like a mirror.
Had a nice lunch with sister yesterday & agreed to one more lobster roll before the restaurant closes for the winter. I sat down to quilt yesterday & fell a sleep. I did manage to get some done. I'm home all day today. Today will be full of hand quilting & sandwiching my last BOM quilt I want to give my DD2 for Christmas.
Teresa....sorry you're not feeling well. I mused to give my girls n& me honey/hot water to soothe a cough. I'll check your photos. Congrats to Jennifer on her promotion.
Suzette....Happy Birthday to your DH. Hope you have a nice day.
Jules...how nice to hear you were able to go for a swim with DH & breakfast. I see you are in for a fun filled weekend the girls are lucky to have a sweet auntie.
Velda....it sure does sound like you had a fun fishing day. Mmmmm I would like some fish for dinner tonight. Maybe I will go out for some.
I'm off to read yesterday's posts.
Love & prayers to all in need.......Kathy

Good morning... it's been cooling down here and getting mildly windy.. I think it's fall.
Teresa, I saw the pictures you posted.. that was some sink hole.. my goodness....congrats to DD on her promotion...
Suzette, happy b-day to DH... a big Sunday dinner sounds wonderful...
Jules, hope you have comfy shoes.. you will have so much fun chasing those little ones.. like Analise I vote for no school and going to Auntie's house instead.. nice that you had a morning date with DH.
Velda, sounds like a great fishing day...
Kathy, if that lobster could be traded for crab I'd go have lunch with you... happy sewing, I love sampler quilts.
Judi, glad Sophie like her pillow case.. hope you have a great camp trip and find that nativity scene...
for me it's time to get moving.. I need to get gas before work.
after work the plan is to sew and go through some stuff I bought at a garage sale.. the books, magazines and patterns were so cheap that I spent $10 and don't even know what I bought...lol.. it was a donation to the Methodist church so the money went to a good cause...
hope you all have a superb day,
Chriss

Good morning

) I'm up way too early! Oh well. Jaz stayed the night, she's sick, DD took her to after hours place yesterday and we are waiting to see if she has the flu or strep or what, so she stayed here with us. DD has a Dr's appt this morning....she's down to the weekly ones. Jaz is running 102.7 temp so I haven't slept much from keeping a close eye on her. Today is doggies to the groomer, me looking to see if I can get a flu shot, the Parade if Jaz is feeling better, her temp goes down with the Ibu so she will probably be ok to sit in the car and watch but we'll see. Not sure what else the day will bring.
My Aunt has given up I am sad to say. She says the Dr's told her that chemo could make her hurt worse then she does and she's taking it as "it WILL make her hurt worse". I asked her if she was in a lot of pain and she said no not really, just taking Tylenol here and there, mostly uncomfortable....they gave her 2 pain meds but she says she doesn't need them. I tried talking to her yesterday but she said she was tired and couldn't talk anymore, it breaks my heart. My Grandma isn't doing good at all. Mom and Dad are going to go there 1st now because they aren't sure how much longer she will make it, her heart is just not strong enough.
Teresa, I know those coughs like that......my DH never says anything till I'm better but when I'm better he says he was ready to live somewhere else LOL
Suzette, Happy Birthday to your DH

) hope you both enjoy your day.
Jules, sounds like your day has already started good and will get even better

) enjoy!
WARNING: Maryz do not read what I'm writing to Velda....skip to the next part LOL
Velda, I love to fish! My fav fish is Walleye, my Dad cleans all the fish that is caught in this family so we do eat what we catch

)
OK, YOU'RE SAFE NOW!
Kathy, enjoy your home al day day

)
GrammieQ, so happy the pillowcase was a hit, you must have the knack for knowing just the perfect way to make them

)
Chriss, I never seem to make yardsales these days......well actually I'm too lazy to LOL I'd rather be sleeping when everyone is out in the early early morning ;o)
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.
Tina

Good Morning!
TERESA - hope you are feeling better soon. Everyone had such good remedies. Also, a vaporizer should give you some relief. your pictures of the flood on your street were all to too interesting. Congratulations to Jenifer on the promotion!
SHIRLEY MAE - so happy to hear such a good report for Rod. But feel badly that you had to go through such a worrisome time of it!
SUZ - tell your hubby happy birthday from The Other Washington - or as it's known these days - The GOOD Washington! lol!!
JULES - I'm laughing at your comment about how there's no flies on little Annaliese! She is just too cute!
VELDA - we always try to eat down the larder, too, before hitting the road - though you take your larder with you! We only take part of it. As for weight in the RV - we have been packed to the gunnels and have also traveled completely empty (400 miles to OR factory for repairs), and that seems to have no effect on our mileage. If we have our RZR & tote on the back of the trailer, that adds a ton and will take off 1 mpg, but as a rule, anything "in the house" doesn't seem to matter except in extra wear on the truck pulling the weight. Wind and up mountains have the most effect on the mileage.
KATHY - can you buy those rolls you like and freeze them? I'd have to scrape all the lobster out and give it to the cat, but I might like the rolls . . .
JUDI - I'm liking your recipe for coughs/cold! Except I'd tweak it a bit - I'm not a tea drinker either! lol! Have a great time in Frankenmuth. I would love to be camped next to you, along with Carole. Such fun!! My pink blocks should get there Tuesday. I should have used Priority, but didn't this time.
CHRISS - how fun to look forward to after work - going through all that quilty stuff from the garage sale! Hope you find lots of treasures!
TINA - I had to look away there for a few lines. Thanks for the heads-up! Hope Jaz is doing better today. Sometimes kids spike a temp for no discernible reason and then it's gone as suddenly as it came. Is the parade for Columbus Day?
We've had such a good visit with Bob & Betsy and you'd never know she'd ever had a cold, much less almost died 18 months ago. God is good! They have a very active, very playful, very huge dog (3/4 standard poodle and 1/4 golden retriever) and she and Scottie did OK together. They played a little, but Scottie was constantly looking straight up to see her! These friends will hit the road early this morning and they we have our other company showing up tonite or tomorrow.
Not a lot of sewing here the last few days, but I do hope to start making my piano key border for my applique quilt. I can work on that in spare minutes here and there.
Have a great day!

Good Friday morning,
I talked with my mom last night and she had a great time with Sharona at the luncheon. I had to laugh because it seems the neighborhood luncheon is open to anyone who lives in the area or who used to live in the area. Yesterdays lunch was at the home of a lady who no longer lives in the neighborhood. My mom has a knack for developing long-lasting friendship groups. She moved out of that neighborhood 12 years ago but is still an active member of the luncheons!
I have a baby blanket to finish up and will be staying out of David's way again this weekend as his next area to paint is his office area. I should be able to tuck into my sewing corner and work while he's painting if I want to.
We have gained a new furry pet, sort of. Now that there are no cats around, a ground squirrel has taken up residence by our front steps. I have named him Fred. He scared me yesterday when I came out the door and he made a dash from the bush and dove under the walkway - right where I was about to step. Nothing like a furry critter running right at you to get a response worthy of candid camera!
Have a wonderful weekend - I have to track down a Peter Rabbit book!
