Where is everyone this morning?
I've been waiting for someone to start but decided to start myself.
I got my Friendship Forest done last night(over in photos) and I'm mostly pleased with it. For some reason it is not squared and I hope that it will quilt ok. Other than that I LOVE it. I plan on putting a wide green binding on it.
Next on the docket is Kim's binding. I have to look around to see if I have a big enough piece of brown to bind it with as I want to put a wide binding on this quilt too. Then the Harley Quilt.
My neck and upper back are really hurting this morning. I went to the chiropractor on Thursday and she put a rib back in that was out. My muscles are so tight it pulls everything out of place. It was the most painful thing she has done to me.
I spend a lot of time pouring over this El's Kitchen book I won. I love it! I like the "side" quilts better then the main one. The Melon and the Hearts and Gizzards are my favorites I think. Can I make my "to do" list any longer? I guess I can...I will never live long enough to make all the quilts I want to make anyway. LOL.... Will any of us?
Have a great Saturday!
Keep looking up!
Vicky

Good Morning whoever comes around. Is this a sleep in day?
It was 47 degrees when we got up around 5:30am. It would be a great morning to stay curled up in our quilts.
Not doing much today, but laundry and clean house. Hope you all have a nice weekend.
By the Way, Hi Vicky!!

Good morning
I managed to get a lot done yesterday. The Pinwheel quilt is layered, and halfway quilted. I am "stitching in the ditch" around the blocks. I would like to do something a little fancy on the border. We will see. We got the plumbing all fixed yesterday in just an hour and a half. It was wonderful. I am the type of person that as soon as I can't use the bathroom, I need to go. I even got the house cleaned yesterday afternoon. Today, I have to go find the surgeon's office for my appointment on Monday, grocery shop, and do a few rounds of the Maytag Mambo. It is starting to hit home about having breast cancer. I knew this would happen the closer I got to the surgeon appointment. Well, I have to dig out some jeans to wear today it is only 55 here this morning. Have a wonderful day.

Gig Morning!
I can't stay long this morning.. I've very busy defending my toes from sharp teeth!! Our puppy is a sweetie! Even Riley, while obviously disgusted at our - lack of judgement, isn't totally mean to him. I think she realizes - OUCH!!! - that he's a baby and allowed some leeway.
VICKY - your quilt is awesome! I must confess that my quilts are more often than not a little out of square - OUCH! OUCH!!!! I need some steel toed boots! Anyway, they quilt OK and when it's all done and bound, it doesn't show. Well - it did show on one quilt, once. the binding was a little off and some white showed on the backing that should have been covered up by binding. I colored it with a marker and no one knew! Well, except now you. But I know you won't tell anybody.. . hope your back eases up. My massage therapist put in my rib last month. I sure feel better now - rib-wise, anyway!
VELDA - maybe you need . . . . a quilt!!! Hope it warms up!
SUZ - do you know yet how radical the surgery will be? My very good friend here in G.H. had a double mastectomy a year ago and she is doing so well! Through research, they are doing so much with all kinds of ca these days, but especially breast. It's a big job quilting a quilt on your machine! it's going to be beauitful!
JUDI - don't overdo! You know, you're just going to mess that bed up again! They say the third day after surgery is the worst because we feel so much better on the second day that we do too much. don't be a hero! Leave the bed. Getting dressed was enough for one morning!
IRISH - I'm so sorry about your furbaby. I know so well what your heart is feeling. Saying a little prayer for you today. maybe our babies are up in heaven playing together. I believe they are there because heaven wouldn't be heavenly without our best friends.
KATHY - I'm praying for Kim. I can't understand while an insurance company, while dinging a person if you're even a little late with a premium, will then deny even a simple, life-saving treatment! and how are YOU? How long were you sick? Prayers for you, too.
It was a pretty good night, all things considered! I am letting Bill name "his" new dog, and I think he figured it out last night. But am waiting to see what he says this morning before I announce because sure as shootin', he'll change his mind if I go an tell everyone . . But last night our kids were e-mailing us ideas of Irish and Scotties origins and someone found something wrong with all of them an finally Autumn said, "Well, let's just throw in the towel and name him Scottie!" I would have done it, but Pop was still on the fence. so I can't wait to see what his name is today.
Must go! need shoes!

Re: Saturday, Sept 14th
Good morning, Vicky! Your quilt is beautiful!!! I never noticed the not square part. The leaves fairly dance on the treesālove your use of the colors!!! Hope you can relax a bit and let your muscles relax, too! I really like the hearts and gizzards, too. I canāt get that book until I make some more from the Egg Money Quilts and the Victory Quilts, make my braid, and several others⦠Iāll NEVER get all my quilts madeā¦
Veldaāthe cooler weather is delightful, but you are 15 degrees cooler than here, so you are feeling your delight right down to your cores! That would be too much delight for me to handle yet!!! Wasnāt it you who said your friend thought she was too old to start another hobby??? My Mom didnāt get a chance to get started quilting until she was 70 years old. Sheās going to be 95 in two months and is still quilting and lamenting that she wonāt get everything made she wants to make⦠Good luck to your friend!
SuzetteāI hope that you find good news Monday. I am finding stitching in the ditch harder than anything else. Good luck to you!
JudiāThe worst part of that lapro surgery is the pain afterwards in your shoulders from all the air they puff in for your surgery. Hang in there!!! I always heard the second or third day was the worst. Youāre on the mend now!!!
MaryZāpuppies love to chew! You need some of those big rubber troll or Hobbit feet for your own toe protection! Ha, ha! Thatās a funny pictureāyour feet as big as you are tall!!! I like Scottie! So good you are all bonding⦠even Riley! She may become his little āmotherā as she gets used to him.
I had such a fun day yesterday with Carolyn. We delivered the machine, and on the way to lunch we saw some garage sales. Of course we just had to check them out⦠Finally we had a long, leisurely lunch, and then we kept seeing garage sales. I need a sign on my truck to go with my Quilterās Patch license plate holder⦠āBrake for Garage Salesā. We didnāt buy anything at any of the sales, but it was sure fun. Found out it was all part of a 150-mile-long string of garage sales in Kansas and Oklahoma. She mentioned that she and Steve were going to the annual Mexican Fiesta in Chanute that evening, so DH and I went up and joined them. We walked around listening to the music, watching the dancers, and sampling the food. It was a fun day!
I need to get going here⦠my friend canāt meet for coffee today, but Iāll get groceries and go see Mom. Back to do laundry and clean the floors⦠Always something to do⦠womanās work is definitely never done⦠especially with a DH and two dogs!!!
Have a great Saturday!

Great quilt Vicky. That's a lot of hst's.
Suzette you were busy yesterday.
Judi good to hear you are up and about a little bit.
Miriam, sounds like you had a nice day yesterday.
Maryz, I bet a puppy in the house is fun. You'll have lots of laughs with your new little fur ball.
I sewed the last couple days. It was wonderful to create lots of different things. Just random blocks for different projects.
Today I'm off to a small quilt show with a friend. Then out to lunch.
Have a great day. Hope everyone gets to touch some cotton.

Re: Saturday, Sept 14th
Good morning.. it's going to be a great day today..
just a quickie today, I need to shower and get ready to take Marilyn to her soccer game... must pack lots of water and a snack...
Cindy, match as many candies in a row as you can.. then if you get two striped candies of any color next to eachother switch them and kablooie...
Lyn, what a blessing to tow your second house, hope the waters never reach you
Chickie.. I like a full apron also.. I have two and even though I rarely use an apron, they are there if needed.
Scrappy Pat... I had an egg baby in high school... not sure how it turned out, probably over easy...lol.... Marilyn's experiment is to cushion the egg enough so it won't crack.. guess they are preparing 5th graders for the high school baby egg thing...lol
O'Dorothy, isn't it wonderful to talk to your kid for hours and KNOW they are happy.. how cool huh?
Velda, yes, it is a sleep in day.. you are an hour early, go back to bed till we all get up...lol
Suzette, prayers for you...
Kathy, yes, it's all amazing what is going on with Kim.. and she is so blessed to have a great medical team around her who knows how to get things done..
Judi, you need to listen to Maryz... she was a nurse... and I agree with her.. you know better, now go play with your hexi's and don't do anything for a few more days... the world won't end if you don't do your chores... I promise.
Lori, I love the block you posted in the hexi thread.. it's really pretty.
Vicky.. your quilt is beautiful.
and now I need a shower and to get someone up for soccer.. you all have a superb day

Good Morning..
My computer froze but the thaw has come. Even thow it's a wonderful 55' out.
Kim the DD will be having her wounds 'cleaned' & a port put in today. That was as of last night....they change things around all the time.
I saw my sister's new granddaughter. four weeks & so cute. I didn't hold her I'm not sure I don't have any sick Koodies on me.
My nieghbor told me there is a 1 woman quilt show/sale over by town hall. It seems she has made 150 pieces in the last year from place matts to quine size. She's from Sweden. I think I'm going to day with my neighbor.
Vicky...your quilt is beautiful. I didn't know that muscels could do such a thing. Feel better each day.
Velda,,,,47'!!! Where's the heat! It's laundry, ugles & a month of mail & paper work for me in between today.
Suzette......you have a strong prayer group here for you. It's all in finding to early. You're always in our prayers((((HUGS))))
Judi......sorry to hear you have not been feeling well. Please try not to push yourself to much today. I know it's easy to say. That is a wonderful DDIL.
Mary!!!!!!! Congrats on the new puppy. Your poot toes. How about steel toed work boots?
Chickie.....I've heatd of that long string of G Sales. What a great idea. The Mexican Fiests sounds like yummy fun.
I'm off to look for bills to pay in the 2" pile of papers I saved from the mail. So looking forward to seeing the quilts today.
Love & prayers.......................Kathy

Re: Saturday, Sept 14th
Good morning all. I have not been on but to check my PMs LOL. What a week. Our DFD (foster daughter) has moved in yesterday. She is tooo sweet 33 and such a loving gal. We unpacked smurfs and care bears and I hung all her butterflies and posters up on wall last night. She matches well with my DD on mental ability; only difference is she is capable to do personal care and can talk:)))
My DH is coming out of retirement. OH my. He was offered a really good job with the company he retired from so he is back to work next week. DD goin to center every day she really likes this new center. DFD goes to a day center too. So it should work out. But the great news is come May I will be retireing to be full time Mom again at home. Oh The joy that will be
)I wont mention it to work until April when our letters of intent are due. I did hint to them yesterday at meeting but no one took me serious LOL
I have received such pretties from everyone for my Nursing home project. Now I am waiting on lady at church to give me embroidery blocks with our church logo on them for center block and I can start sewing them together. Such a blessing I cant thank you enough. The ladies in my group brought fat quarters last meeting and I am using them as fillers and to trim out blocks. Also got some backing fabric so they will look wonderful.
)
Vicky hope you feel better soon.
Chriss have fun at game.
I have not read everyones but have a blessed Saturday. 52 here this morning a lil chilly but wonderful to hang out sheets:))
God Bless and happy thoughts
