TGIF quilty friends.
I took a vacation day today so I will have a nice long weekend. Krystal and I are planning on going to Fabric Depot on Saturday. I haven't been there in quite a while. I am looking forward to a road trip.
It rained yesterday....it was wonderful! Been quite a while since we have seen rain in the Great PNW. Probably will be crappy weather all weekend, but that's OK.
I have been buying up some '30s reproduction fabrics...plan on making something with my new hexie stamp. Just not sure what pattern I want to do. Was going to do GFG but I am liking the diamond patterns, too. DH does not like the GFG...he said "it's just circles!". Men, what do they know! LOL
DGS starts school on Tuesday. I can't believe my little guy will be in second grade. I think I have misplaced a year somewhere. He got so big so fast.
Sharon, prayers being said for Cooper. Circumcisions are really frowned upon nowadays when babies are born...I don't know why. My DGS was not circ'd when he was born, either, however being a preemie had something to do with that. When my last son was born, over 25 yrs ago, I had to practically beg them to do it. I had to listen to a lecture about what a "barbaric" procedure it was and that it really wasn't "necessary". I just smiled and listened and then signed the consent form...I knew of too many people who had to have it performed later in life because of problems.
Sharona, congrats! I am so excited for you. I know you will be a wreck until it is all over, but it will be wonderful in your new home!
Izzy, hope you and Sharon have a wonderful time. Don't forget to post pics.
Vicky, I hope you find some time to de-stress and I hope your tooth pain resolves quickly.
Maryz, prayers continue for Aut.
Cindyg, hope you have a blast at the lake.
Chriss, enjoy your "girls" day with Marilyn. Sounds like a wonderful way to spend a Friday. Happy Vacay, too!
Jules, so good to "see" you again. Too bad about that nasty woman...prayers that it will blow over quickly and that Charley has a wonderful first year of teaching.
Karlene...where are you? Hope all is well.
Kathy, prayers continue for a quick recovery for Kim.
Chickie, so sorry about the fires. Glad it wasn't worse.
Tina, hope you find the perfect mattress for your back. It can make a world of difference!
Judi, your camping menu sounds delish. Hope you have a fabulous camping trip.
Suzette, hope your biopsy pain subsides quickly. Prayers for a good outcome.
Jana, I know it's not funny, but you painted quite a comical picture of you and DH with the dirt and shoveling.... LOL Sounds about like me and my DH.
Dolores, glad you found homes for your magazines. That was so thoughtful of you to pass them on to others.
Maryq, sorry you will be 'on call' Monday. Hope you get to enjoy some of your three day weekend, anyway.
Hi Lori--whatcha working on these days?
Mary/Rose, can't wait to see your DWR. I want to make one of those, too.
Lois, how was the pinning ceremony?
Velda, I can't believe Labor Day is upon us, already, either! I feel like time has been speeded (sped??? LOL) up somehow.
Well, guess I better close this novel for now. I miss you all....seems like I never get to chat. Our internet at work has been moving at a snail's pace for the past two months. I couldn't even get the QIAD site to load up yesterday. By the time I get home, most of you have already retired for the evening. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I think of you all everyday and keep you all in my prayers.
Hugs,
Mel
