Good Morning Pals
It is good to be home. Got back very late Monday night and just needed a day to catch up and rest up. It was a whirlwind trip up to Fremont to visit an APQS Rep, Karen Wheeler. She was so incredibly sweet to open up her home for us to stay. We had loads of fun chit chatting about this and that - of course it was about quilting - and she showed me the QuiltPath which is the computer that goes with my machine. We have been checking out all the others and this one really is the right one. It is still dealing with bugs in the system and sending out updates but don't they all do that??? I am very pleased with it but there is a 2 month waiting list. It is amazing how it has boosted the APQS company. We put on the D9P and quilted it with Holly Berries Panto. Looks awesome especially with the binding now sewn on. Just need to flip while we watch last weekends races. What a mess with changing the channels. I am glad we were able to tape them :)

We were also able to stop in at Beth Street's home to drop off the Doll Clothes Quilt. She is such a sweet Pal and we enjoyed visiting with her for a short time before the long drive home. I will post pictures very soon. The only aweful part of the trip was that there was an awesome thunder/lightening/rain storm back home - UGH - LOL!!!!

Today is my DS#2, Evan's, 33rd Birthday - Oh how the time does fly!!! Wish he lived closer. I miss him very much but got some great pictures when Courtney visited him this past week.

I will be working on stitching up the braid blocks that the ladies in my sewing group put together after playing with all the colors. A great lesson in color combining. I also need to finish up my Twin Sister blocks for the Lotto. Wonder who will win??? You should check out the Poetic Bribe that Velda wrote. Absolutely delightful!!!!

OK I am off to bed now. Hope you all have a great day blessing those around you and playing wtih cotton.
HUGS and BLESSINGS
T

Hi all, I managed to wake at an appropriate time today and my first visit is with you :)

Teresa - happy birthday to your son for today, glad you had a good trip :)

I have nothing planned for today apart from a little sewing - bliss - the sun is shining, Ross is working and not under my feet and Charley has gone shopping so I can have a quiet morning with my machine and myself and no interruptions :)

Lots of love and prayers for you all.....hope you all have as enjoyable time today as I will, in whatever you do xxxx

Good morning everyone.
I really could have slept in this morning. But, I have to re-do my mammogram on the right side. I can always snooze when I get back. Yesterday I did get out to my studio for about an hour. Wanted to stay longer but got really tired. When you sew when you are tired that is when accidents happen. Hubby went to work yesterday and did fine. He got up for a few minutes and feels great. I have an idea we may never know what happened this past weekend. Have a great day.

I wandered in the sewing room last night and didn't come out until after 10 :-) I got one tree sewn and four laid out (wait until you see the blue and brown one, wow :-) that's all the trees made and I am taking out the yellow and blue. If I didn't take it out I would regret it down the road. This quilt has been a lot of fun. One reason is, there's no pressure to get it done, none. I can take as long as I like and I have really enjoyed the process. Of course I do have other projects waiting...like a Harley Davidson quilt.... but they can wait.

I got a call from Shannon last night, she needs to stay home and just chill today. They have been so busy with the house and she needs a down day. Tia and Jovanna will be coming. I haven't made any more diaper inserts. I need to get a washable blue pen, mine ran dry. Tia will put the new baby in disposables for the first two or three weeks anyway. The baby is due September 20th but I think she is going to go earlier, it would be nice if he or she came on the 16th because that's JR's birthday, he is going to be 30!

I hope everyone has a nice day!
Vicky

Drat! I should have known better. Since there were only five posts, I decided to respond in the QIAD site instead of doing a word document and cutting and pasting. So of course I hit some combo of buttons and totally shut down my internet. BOOO!

So I'll just say good morning to all y'all and I hope everyone has a splendiferous day. Prayers have already been said. XOXO! Sharona

Happy Day and goodmorning to all!
Many of you made comment or question about my "collar" project. Yes, I did think about just turning the collar over, but I had this other shirt that DH quit wearing and the color was just right to make a brand new collar from this recycled fabric. Being just a little shade different, it really made his shirt look great!! I am so proud of the way it turned out. Now maybe he will get another 10 years out of this shirt LOL. I really don't remember when I embroidered all the fish and designs on this shirt. It was way back when, when I had my embroidery business. It has lots of fish designs on it, plus a huge design across the back of the shirt. He always calls it his lucky fishing shirt.

Then I got the pillow case finished for my granddaughter's b-day gift. Yes, I did learn the technique from Missouri QC video.

Then I did laundry and another neighbor went with me. She is also a craft person, so we enjoyed sharing ideas. She showed me a project she is making that is a thread catcher. It is so neat. It twists and closes down to a flat circle for transport or storage.
Got the pattern from her to share with our "winter sewing group". Hope you read this, Lyn!!!! I will have to email you to tell you more about it.

Still need to get back to my tablerunners/toppers. Have one or two more to finish.

That's all from this corner of the world. Hope you all have a great day.

Good morning...

Chickie.. glad you came over to the hexi side...I knew you couldn't resist the fun... and with your SIL making those great templates you have an advantage... I love mine...if you check out facebook and look at Jules hexi's you may find your next project..

Cindyg.. what are you making with your newly washed and dried fabric? I am going to finish up my charm quilt, quilt my GFG then try out some applique...I want to try all different ways so I can see which I like the best... our painting has stalled.. Mar goes to school on the 4th and Jer will resume... we spent quite a bit on her room and need to save a bit first.... did you see that Chickie is doing hexi's?

Sharona, I am so excited for you.. hope you get the house at your offer price... I so wish I could come help.

Jana.. sorry Sarah may have to mvoe again... happy dirt and rock moving...

Maryq.. my hyster was done long ago too... it really is a blessing... the new mom's will love the tote bags... I use tote bags all the time.

O'Dorothy, hope your carpet gets laid soon... amazing how one of the smallest rooms in the house can be the most time consuming...hope Terry and Jackie enjoy their students... your talk of Frick and Frack reminds me of the old laurel and hardy shows my grandpa used to watch.

Judi, amazing how surgery has progressed.. I have a scar from my belly button to my wazoo, you will have 5 tiny holes.. they have come a long way..

Teresa, glad you had a fun trip.. happy b-day to DS.. where does he live.?

Jules, enjoy your quiet time.. how fun to be you.

Lois.. have a marvy day.

Suzette, glad DH is doing well... wonder what happened.. hope the mamo goes well.

Vicky.. glad your trees are coming along... I can't believe that the baby will be here so soon....

Sharona, ugh, I hate when that happens.

Velda, glad you gave new life to the fishing shirt... I, in no way, am able to do something like that.. it would be a disaster...

has anyone heard from Karlene lately?

and I am off to work.. you all have a super day,
chriss

Sharona, I feel for you. I do not know what the combo of keys is, but it happens to me all the time. Not just on this forum, but even when I am typing and email or anything.

I know it has something to do with the shift key. I never use the so called "hot" keys, mainly cause I don't know how, but it must be some combo of those "hot" keys.

It happens every time, I have made a long typed message, too. Uggh!!

Sherry - are you coming to Houston this year for the quilt show?

Judi - oh, my, they have come a long way since I had my hystie. I had a 6 week recovery time - at least that's what the doctor told me to do. I went back to work after 3 weeks - I had to because my husband left me with two kids a couple of weeks after my hystie so I couldn't afford to be off work.

Teresa - glad you are home safe and sound and that you had a good time on your trip. A computer for our quilting machine is only a dream.

Jules - it's so good to see you back again. Enjoy your sewing time today.

Lois - want to come do my grocery shopping for me? I must go tomorrow after work. Anyway, will you be sewing today?

Suz - not knowing what happened last weekend would scare the hooey out of me. I'd be so afraid it will happen again. Good luck having your mamm grammed this morning.

Vicky - it's good to hear that you are enjoying your quilting. I can't wait to see the tree quilt. Have fun with Jovanna and Tia today.

Sharona - what about the new house?

Velda - I'm so glad you got that collar done. I was really dreading it - LOL LOL LOL. Did you just get tired of doing your embroidery business? I'm glad about your pillow case being done. I made Christmas pillow cases for my entire family (20) a few years ago. I don't care if I never make another one. I've lost several replies, too. It's so irksome!

Chriss - LOL yes I saw about Chickie and her hexies. I'm still not interested so you girls can just hex away. I'm completely satisfied with my piecing and my hand applique. It keeps me more than busy. The fabric I washed was 108" wide backing for our RV quilt. I bought some on line previously but I hated the color when I got it so I'll put it in my sewing room to use on something else. I need to go to Vicki's to quilt a couple of quilts but I guess that it will be after Labor Day.

Last night I worked on my hand applique a little bit. I need to make up my mind what I'm going to take to the lake to work on next weekend. And figure out my menu - the easier, the better - LOL

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.
