Postal Service making changes

Post by suzette58 » Wed Aug 14, 2013 1:00 pm

Make sure to check your local news about changes the post office is making to Priority Mail service. I know a lot of us use it. Apparently they are making the changes to raise money. So, you know that means it is going to cost more to mail anything.

Closing post offices and raising prices... Now they call their price hikes "annual increases"... Less service; higher prices... No wonder they are in trouble.

I rarely use the Post office anymore. I mail any packages by UPS or Fed-Ex. Their service is so much better. I pay most of my bills online. I don't care if they do away with Saturday delivery because 80% of our mail is "junk mail" and it goes straight to the trash.

And besides all of the above - I have to walk up and over a block or so to get my mail from a community mailbox! no more delivery at the door!

Sarah's postman leaves nasty notes that the trash can is too close to the mail box and the city says that it has to be in front of the house - 30 feet from the box - between her driveway and the neighbors driveway there isn't 30 extra feet from the box to the neighbors box or driveway! Sheesh!!!

I hear that on post service. I live in boonies and sent my christmas blocks to CA well I was shocked when she said 12 bucks. Crazy cause I mailed same size pkg to Germany a few months ago and it was only 15. REally only 3 bucks more to go 3x as far. crazy but they got you one way or the other.

Wow they really work so hard at not delivering the mail around here half the times when it's raining the mail is all soaked when I get it and how about when I was missing a whole month worth of magazines if I didn't call the 1-800# and shake things up I would have never got them and they deserve an increase I should say not.
