Good morning Pals
Yesterday was the first day I felt somewhat human since coming home from AZ. I've been waking up sounding a a coughing bull frog, more female in the afternoon but then the feet, ankles and legs are so swollen by then it hurts to walk so I look forward to the bed again - LOL. Guess I am just not use to having AC blowing on my head. I was so cold that on the second night I slept on the floor in the corner of what will be the nursery just to find a warmer place that it was not blowing. Now I won't tell you what that did to the back and hips as I am sure you can imagine it. I sure did miss not being able to see Shirley Mae but I sew know what it feels like to have a house full. You need some quiet recoop time when they leave. Totally understand.

All is better now. I am making wonderful progress on Beth's Clothes Doll Quilt. Adorable! Reminds me of the Mexican Star with all the stippling. Very relaxing. I am even learning and getting comfortable with ditching on the LA. Not an easy thing to do if you are a stickler for wanting the thread in the ditch - LOL!!

Today is more of the same - working on finishing the quilt. I made Italian Chicken in the Crockpot last night so dinner is left overs.

Lotto Pals and Secret Santa's - 2 weeks to go to get your Twin Sister Blocks in the mail - plenty of time to whip some up and possibly win a whole quilt full for your Secret Santa. The more you make the more chances you have. Easy peasy :) :)

Hope you all have a Terrific Tuesday!!! HUGE HUGS and Prayers always!!

Good morning/night Teresa and all who follow. Just checking in before heading off to bed.

Teresa, glad you are feeling better. Hope the back and hips feel better, too.

We got home late yesterday evening from our little trip. Today was a recoup day for me....the last of my furlough days, well, for this fiscal year anyway! I must admit that I have enjoyed having my day off, although, it would have been much more enjoyable if it had been with pay! Oh well, I guess it was my miniscule contribution to keep this country running! LOL

I finally got my cabin swap blocks in the mail. Boy, is that a load off! I got my "by Kate" hexie and diamond stamps the day we left for our trip. My DSIL is still visiting so I haven't had time to play with them yet. She will be going home this weekend, so I hope to get a chance to try them out next week. I am very excited to try this method. For anyone interested in hexies, here is a link to the YouTube tute showing these stamps (thanks, Lucie, aka Lucieshouses): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Bus-NFg ... e=youtu.be
The website is: http://www.bykate.com/'>http://www.bykate.com/

Well, it is midnight so I guess I best get into bed. It will be "time to make the doughnuts" before I know it. I told DH that we really need to get better paying jobs so that we can work just three days a week and still get paid the same amount!

Hope all you working stiffs, like me, have a wonderful day at work and that it speeds by! For everyone else, have a splendiferous day doing whatever you will be doing.

Hugs and prayers,
Mel

Good morning everyone.
I overslept this morning and my morning will be all turned around. Turns out the alarm was not turned on. But, at least I won't be late for work. I came home early yesterday nothing was going on at work. I laid down on the couch for what I thought would be about a half hour snooze and woke up 3 hours later. I am hoping to get out to my studio today. Have a great day.

Good morning all. I am up and running, I need to get my uglies done early. DBIL(the one who had the stroke) is coming over with a car full of veggies to make canned salsa. Seems all their tomatoes came in at once and they need to be dealt with. My sis has no interest in canning but says she will help. We should do 24 pints and can the rest as stewed tomatoes. Sooooo I won't sew till tonight and will work on the Dresden plate appliques. Tomorrow I will pack the camper. Thurs we leave for Grand rapids for the quilt show....I am excited....Will meet all the gals from 'Paper pieces" and buy a few things at the Quilt ina day Booth,. (Have a 25% off coupon there) It is a really nice quilt show. I won't leave my camera in the car this time...I already have it packed with my shopping tote. Hoppe you all have a good day...no time to chat XXXOOO

Goodmorning pals,

Here it is Tuesday already, wow, can't believe how these days are ticking away. DH is actually going to take me out to fish for crappie this week. We are having some cooler weather, it should be great fun. He knows that even though I love to bass fish, it is nice to catch some pan fish for the "pan". We never keep the bass we catch, because they are a sport fish and not as plentiful as the pan fish. We want to preserve the population of the bass, so we return them to the water to grow and be their for the next year, and years after that.
It just breaks our heart to see people cleaning them and eating them. They are so much fun to catch, so much more fun then the smaller pan fish. Just like the walleye and muskie. Muskie are not a natural fish to this lake, but they have been stocked here and they have to be 48" to keep one. DH has caught some in the years past in the 36" range and we got some pictures of the fish, then returned it to the water safe and healthy to live on.

After fishing today, I hope to do a little sewing on my table topper project. When I get them all done, I promise to share some pictures.
These are all being made from my winning lotto block from earlier in the spring.

Teresa, I did not realize that you came home from your trip with the "crud". It's hard enough to just get back on track after being on vacation, but to struggle with not feeling well, Oh my!!, that must have been awful!!! Glad you are doing better.

I finally got back to normal after my bout with the pinched nerve.
Friends here and my DH suggested I use a "knee" pillow. I have tried many times before and just couldn't get myself to use it. But this time, I am determined to do it. So far, so good. I really think it does keep my spine more in line while I sleep. Now, I will have to make a pretty girly pillow slip for my "new friend" LOL Don't we all need another excuse to sew?

Hope you all enjoy your day today, whether it's at work or play.

BBL to read the rest of the posts. Probably later this afternoon.
For now, I must get my coffee and breakfast and get ready to go fishing. Hugs to ALL

Velda

Teresa - last night I made chicken & dumpling casserole so our dinner for the next couple of nights is done - just needs heating and veggies to go with. Sorry you don't like A/C blowing on you. I love it because it's so dang hot and humid here. I also have the ceiling fan on high and a tower fan on my side of the bed.

Mel - I hope my day flies by here at work. It won't because I can't be in my office. It's being painted but he will finish up today. Yea! I'm not sure what you mean by hexie stamps.

Lois - prayer sent up for your DD. Hope she gets the job if it's the one she wants. Too bad you have uglies to do today.

Suz - how ever did you get to sleep last night after that 'snooze' yesterday??

Judi - WOO HOO the quilt show is soon for you! BOING BOING BOING.

Izzy - have a fast day today so you can get back to your sewing.

Velda- have fun fishing.

I must stop now as my painter just came in and needs to cover everything up.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good morning! We have a cloudy day here. Yesterday I started sewing sashing around pinwheels and I hope to continue today although I have to go to town and be at a rental when the water get turns on. As a reward to me… I’m taking the very long, round-a-bout way home and stopping at a little quilt shop and signing up for a class. I think it will be fun to sit and sew and meet some new people. It’s a twister snowman, and I do like those twister blocks!!!

I made ricotta & parmesan stuffed patty pan squash last evening for dinner. DH said it was “surprisingly good” for something without meat. It tasted like veggie lasagna when the marinara was ladled over it. The left-overs will be served with meatballs in the marinara.

Mel—I have some do-nut shop coffee and always think of “time to make the donuts” when I’m drinking it. That guy always looked like how I felt when getting up at oh-dark-thirty to get ready for work. I used to have one of the log cabin stamps… I must cut out some hexies…

Lois—have fun! You are such an inspiration!!! Best wishes to your DD!!!

Suzette—I hate it when I do that! You must have really needed that nap!!! Enjoy your day.

Judi—I’m looking forward to going to the quilt show “with you”, or at least through your eyes! That’s so sweet of you to help your DBIL!!! Salsa—yum!!!

Izzy—have a good day at work! It’s always such a change from vacation days.

Velda—I caught four bass from our pond last night, and they will be dinner today. We only have bass, some bluegill and the occasional crappie in our pond by the house. The other bigger pond where we also fish has the previous plus the occasional catfish. The federal lake next to us has bass tournaments a couple times a year, and there are also catfish in it. I sleep with a knee pillow, and it definitely helps me. I hope you have some super girly-girl fabric for your “friend”!!! Have fun fishing!!! Pull up to our pond on your way to Texas, and you can have pan-fried bass with us!!!

Teresa—I wondered when you would be back—missed you! So sorry about all the aches and pains you incurred on your trip! I can’t imagine mastering “ditching” on the LA! I have enough trouble on my home machine—maybe it’s my eyesight… sometimes I just can’t see where I’m supposed to stitch… Hope you post some photos!!!

Cindy—it’s so nice to have dinner made! Sorry you can’t stay on the computer all day while your office is refurbished!

Now, to go get myself ready for the day… Coffee cup is empty, and it’s late in the day for my jammies to be appropriate attire… Have a super day, and let the thread times roll!!!

Good morning!

Up early here today - little one will be here shortly - Stu is back at work and school starts for him next week. Stu is working for the school doing janitorial stuff and mowing lawns there too.

I got all the star points for the christmas quilts done - mine and Sarah's - she will just need to trim them to square. Sarah saw the pattern and kit for sale on another website and posted a comment about how the star point directions and method of assembly was the pits! Suggested to anyone buying the kit to use QIAD's ruler instead! Smart girl! LOL

Later this afternoon is my day with the Activity Girls from Church. We are going to learn to frost and decorate cakes - well I am using cookies. I will teach them a simple shell border and a rose. Should be fun.

My DDIL took a spill at girl's camp last week and twisted her ankle badly - quite swollen - so she finally went in to the DR's office - he looked and thought that it was broken - nope just sprained severely. Told her that she had to stay off of it for about 6 weeks - looked at my little 4 y/o grandson - asked is this your only child - no - then asked your youngest? - no - he is next to the oldest of the four - no way can she stay off of it - so I will be spending time down there more than usual.

We will be hanging a curtain across the storage of my Christmas stuff - so now I need to go and find the right fabric. So much easier than hanging doors.

Well need to scoot -
Have a great day!
Jana

Someone asked a couple of days ago about EQ7 - I have it on my computer and Sarah's computer too. We love it! Sarah does most of the design work on it - you can import fabric swatches from different companies - this allows you see what the quilt will look like, before you hit the LQS. It is great for us.
