Tuesday, August 6th

Post by suzette58 » Mon Aug 05, 2013 11:33 pm

Good morning everyone.
I thought for sure someone would have started today's thread by now. My work schedule has changed for this week. I have to be off Thursday to drop off my quilt at the county fair. So, I am working Monday, Wednesday and Friday. My sister in-law was released from the hospital yesterday. I work with one of her daughters and she was so tired yesterday. Today I have to finish cutting the blocks for my next quilt. That is all I have planned. Off to finish my coffee and listen to the news. Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning Suzette and all who follow,

Today is the gym and afterward there is some floors that need some attention then some wash and if I have anytime left I will try and get back to my sewing room.

Suzette have fun on your day off I hope there is a blue ribbon for your quilt I think next year I will enter my quilts into the county fair I was going to this year but I got the dates mixed up and I would have needed to have it with the binding already oh well there is always next year.

I Hope Everyone Has A Great Day.

Good morning Suz and all who follow. Today will be a repeat of yesterday. Good to hear your sis-in-law was released from the hospital.

Sharona, I am making a DWR for our pastors daughter. I posted a pic of the progress a couple weeks ago over in photo section. I'll pull it back to the top for you. Happy to see you back, although I know you were having a great time with the girls and other family.

Cindy, yes it is the DWR I was talking about yesterday.

Any suggestions will be welcome as to the best pattern to do for the backing. I am using only stash fabrics to make this quilt, but haven't decided whether to do strips, crazy quilt piecing, or another pattern design for the back. The key is "no purchasing of new fabric allowed".

Time to finish getting ready for work.

I have a kind of funny story to tell at my sons expense. His car has been at the shop for two weeks, he got it home last night and parked it in the driveway. He went out this morning and the car was gone! So he comes in and tells his dad he thinks someone might have taken his car.... So the two of them go out and the car had rolled down the driveway, across our neighbors drive and into the field. He forgot to put his e-break on. He told me his heart just sunk when he looked out and saw it missing. Poor kid. But the lesson learned it always put the e-break on when on an incline even if it's slight.

Last night Emily and I drove down to Waverly and saw my oldest son, Ross, play in his band. He told me Sunday they were having an outside concert that I could go to (they usually play bars) So off we went, I have never heard the whole band play together. When we got there the park had a lot of "older" people there, not the young crowd I had expected. Well after about the second song a lot of them got up and left... they really play a "louder" more "now" type of music. To tell you the truth if my son wasn't playing I would have left too... But I stayed the whole 1 1/2 hours and supported my son, I think he was happy to have me there. The things we do for our children, LOL.

I did not sew at all yesterday. I got home from my MIL's and Emily and I ran out to grocery shop, then I mapped for about 15 minutes before starting supper. I'm still thinking Harley Davidson quilt... How do I get into these tings. This is the brother in law I made this quilt for:Image

I guess he thinks I can work miracles.

Today Emily is going to Shannon's and I'm staying home so I should be able to get those trunks done. Maybe even start on a tree top, we will see.

I hope you all have a great day.
Vicky

Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him!

Keep looking up!

Vicky - your quilt is absolutely beautiful! As far as your son's car story, it is funny. But, I have done the same thing. Except I lost my car in a store parking lot. Came out and went towards the blue van I had parked next to and my car was gone! Wrong blue van. :)

Good morning...

Judi, when I tried the Atkins diet there were many desserts that were sugar free and some were quite good... bet you could google some great ideas.

Sharona, how is DS now?

Maryz.. glad you cold watered the Santa's... hope you find a sheltie, sorry Riley is loving being an only child and doesn't care for the siameese..lol...

Karlene, how nice of FIL to take you out to dinner.. glad you have your house back.. it's always nice to get back to your routine... Marilyn isn't quite as tall as me.. but she is very close to 5' and her shoe size is 6 to 6 1/2...I think it's all the preservatives in foods now days...lol

Maryq.. what a blessing to have a whole day to yourself.. enjoy it completely...

Cindy, glad you all enjoyed fabric shopping..wish Vicky had gone with you... you may need to drag her out of the house...

Kathy, glad you are at the binding stage... did you ever find your camera?

Jana.. too bad you can't work a bobbin like a machine that plays multiple cd's.. just rotate a new one in... sure would make things easier... and I wish I had a machine that automatically went to the 1/4inch setting... hey, maybe I should host a machine swap????

Mel, your cat sounds really cool.

O'Dorothy, our bathroom never required the use of power tools.. I am interested to see what you're doing with yours...

Suzette, how nice to get to change your work schedule to accomodate your needs.. glad SIL is going home..best of luck at the quilt show.

Lois.. so you've seen that my floors need attention and are on your way???...hope you have a fun day.

MaryRose... hope you figure out the backing for the DWR... not sure what size scraps you have but I am sure you will come up with something beautiful.

Vicky...the quilt is beautiful... you might let Caleb know to also turn the steering wheel so as the car rolls back it also curves around...glad all went well.

Izzy, happy first day of school.. ours doesn't start till Sept 4th... my son student taught last year and this year he will be a hired teacher... I teased and asked him if he wanted me to take him to his first day of school...lol

you all have a marvy day,

Good Morning,, from sleepy ville. It rained here and the sound and smell of the rain put me away last night, Could have stayed in bed all day. Cool and beautiful weather, I love it. Seen the weight watcher diet is working for me. I lost all the aformentioned weight plus 1 lbs in the last 2 weeks. Sat on the porch for the weekly garbageman watch. Thought of joannquilts and hope she s doing well. We are having a watermain repair here in our little town./ So there are pipes laying in our front yard. They are hooking up a temporary water supply to all of our houses this should be interesting as they have to take our water meters out and estimate our waterbills. till October.

More on the ferral cat family....I contacted a resue group, they are working day and night trying to resue as many kittys as they can,,,,She told me they will try to catch the kittens and domesticate them and spay and give shots to the Momma and return her to my woodpile to keep mice and other varmints down without her reproducing more kitties, (I am sure ken will feed her (he is a softy that one) The momma is a tiny white and gray cat with blue eyes too.

Well I need to get it in gear....change the sheets and wash a couple of quilts in on the agenda today and dry mob the floors. Hope you all have a great day/ XXXOOO
