Good morning everyone.
I just heard on the news the the Lincoln Memorial has been vandalized and is closed indefinatly. The news did not say what has happened. What is wrong with people? I was looking on the website for the Sacred Threads quilt show and found out that they are having one in Omaha, Nebraska this fall. Check out their website if you are interested. Right now it is in the upper 50s here. After I am done with this I plan on having breakfast on the deck. After doing some uglies today I am going to work on my Christmas swap blocks and the quilts of honor quilt. Have a wonderful day

Lois - I just fixed the shade for our niece's boat. A mouse had chewed holes in it. I used my good old Singer 301 machine and Coats and Clark outdoor thread. The thread can be found at Joann's. it doesn't have the color range the normal sewing thread does but it is definatly stronger.

Good morning Suz and all who follow. Here in Farmington it is 73* and expected highs to be in the low to mid 90's. Last evening I laid out and measured the block pieces to see if 5 rows across would be enough or if I would need to add a 6th row for the DWR. Looks like I need that 6th row to make it 92" across. So I pulled out the extra wedges I had cut and started arranging them for the additional arcs that I need to make. I will attempt to get them together tonight after work so I can attempt to get more of the set pieces added this weekend between ughlies.
Suz, it is such a shame that people feel they have to be so destructive. Have fun working on your Christmas blocks and QOH today.
All the talk about canning is making me want to get my canning stuff out, but that would be silly. I don't have anything to can, nor the time to work on it right now. I better finish getting ready for work. Blessings to you all today.

Today I go to my MIL's. I'm interviewing a back-up aide. I hope this all works out.
Then I'm coming home and ironing a piece of wide backing for Kim's quilt, I bought a solid brown, got it washed yesterday and will be ready for Lydia on Sunday. I also washed my black fabric for SBS. I even gave a thought about making one block but decided to wait
I want to clean out the sewing room. I have 6 sewing machines in there, two I want to sell, one I'm thinking about selling and the others I just want to get off the floor and dust and use a little to keep them up and running right. I also have a kitchen cupboard in there that I thought about hanging over the ironing board but I think I just may want it out of there. All that would give me a little more "walk" room and make it easier to get around in there. It's TOO tight.
Well sonny wants to use this computer. So I'll talk to you later.
Keep looking up!
Vicky

good Morning all. It is cool and sunny again, I have a few uglies to do. The girls graduation party is tomorrow. but they are having the whole thing catered and done so we are just to show up. it is at a hall in a large park...so sunscreen and bug spray are the order of the day, I am thinking of hitting a few yard sales today if the knee is better. Ice and motrin seemed to help a bit,,,,still swollen today and Dr is on vacation,
I have all the Dresden plates sewn together need to put on the border. I tried the clover bias maker and save your money it was a pain and I put it back in the "Why did I buy this" box/ I wasted a bunch of faabric cutting strips for it. it might be the tape that is old and not sticking. Will make the vines the old fashioned way,
I will take out a pork tenderloin out of the freezer today and make BBQ pork. We have had 3 vegetarion meals this week and Ken is wanting BBQ, so that is supper plans, I may make some coleslaw to go with it. we are getting tomatoes from the garden and cucumbers and yesterday I picked a bunch of dill and onions. Will get the dehydrator out and dry up the bounty. Right now the tomatoes are sparse moles got in the garden and are digging around the roots they took out some tomatoes plants, and the cantalope too. I hate resorting to poisons so I just take what I can get. we have 2 great farmers markets near us so I can get a lot of fresh produce to put up for winter, it is just fun to grow your own, Darn critters,
well I hope you all have a great day,,,,HUGS where needed XXXOOO

Good morning all. Such a shame about Lincoln Memorial. I live just minutes from his birthplace ; which us locals call Lincoln Farm. I pass his boyhood home also every day going to work. They both are so beautiful. If you all ever come to KY you should stop in to see them. Downtown they have two bronze statues of him one of him sitting like the memorial and one as a boy by a tree.
Well I just shipped out DH to do work he is up and moving slowly; I have to help him this afternoon with a job due to cant really maneuver to good. DD has went to center. I have my coffee made and I plan to do 2 uglies: Mop wood floors upstairs and kitchen floor and make my bed. Then to the sewing room I go. I have to cut out one more christmas block and sew it and then I think I will play with some PP blocks to do some practice. Who knows may pull out a UFO to work on.

) or cut scraps into layer cakes and charms. HMMMMM the options. I know one thing its my day to sew and do nothing more.
Take care ladies. Good luck with interview Vicky hope you find a very caring person.

Good Morning!
SUZ - I hadn't heard about the Lincoln Memorial. I don't understand vandalism. And in a place so sacred to our country is inconceivable.
LOIS - I sure hope you can get the boat cover repaired. You don't want to spend dollars on a new one that could be better spent on fabric!
MARY-ROSE - your DWR is so pretty. You could always add a series of borders if you don't want to make another row of blocks. But with a quilt as special as yours, you want to make sure it's done exactly how you want so you'll always love it!
VICKY - I wish I could see your sewing room. In fact, I wish I could visit everyone's sewing rooms! What kind of machines do you have?
JUDI - I was wondering if you were going to do any dehydrating this year. I remember the last few years you dried your entire garden, it seemed! Moles! Don't get me started! I hate them, but I also hate poisons and traps, so I try to co-exist peacefully.
IZZY - I love Lincoln. He's my favorite president. One of my goals is to visit his home. Some day. I hope your day is exactly as you are planning it to be - in the sewing room!
I think DH and I might go to Costco today. We have a long list. There's always a few uglies, and I might try a new block for a different project in my sewing room today. Or I might just sit and read. I'm trying to get through Janet Evanovich's new book, The Heist, that she wrote with Lee Goldberg. I my opinion, I shouldn't have wasted my money, but since I did, I'm going to plow on through.
Hope you have a good roll in your fabric today!
