Good morning Lois and those that follow.
We had a wonderful day yesterday. Our neighor came over and ate with us. It was actually quiet even after it got dark. I did get out to my studio and finished the tube blocks for the Quilts of Honor quilt. Today I have to cut sashing and cornerstones and start getting the top together. I forgot to wash the fabric before I cut it so when the top is done I am going to stitch around the edge about 1/8th of an inch in and then wash it. I also have to get backing fabric for it. Hubby is going to work on the tile in the kitchen today. I also have to get a cake baked and some cucumbers & onions sliced up for a cookout tomorrow. Another busy day. Have a great day.
Lois - have a wonderful day off today.

Good morning Lois, Suz and all who follow. Yesterday was a very busy day and I am paying for it today. At least today is the last day of work before the weekend.
Congratulations to Maryz for winning the Self Portrait Challenge.
Chriss, you are welcome to drop in any time. I saved you a burger...
Lois, happy Friday. Enjoy working on your sewing room.
Suz, happy sewing today.
Sharona, I always enjoy being able to come here to visit. I just don't have enough time to keep up with everything in real life and cyber world on a daily basis. Especially during the spring/summer with all the yard work added in to all the rest of the work.
Prayers for all.
Mary/Rosebud

We had a very nice day yesterday. Our little cook out went nicely and game playing after was fun. Our son Ross stopped in and visited for a short while and that was especially nice as we hadn't seen him in over a month or so. He worries his mother, he is so thin.... he and his girl are vegans(not a bad thing) but he needs something more in his diet to maintain a little weight. Maybe more avocados or something, I'll be talking with him.
I stopped at Joanns yesterday and bought some glue sticks and I'm going to try them on Kim's quilt, Right now I'm using drops of white glue with a toothpick and I'm finding it very time consuming. I hope this works.
Have a great day!
Vicky

Good morning We to had a nice day yesterday...lots of food even it rained but still a nice day. My DD invited a lot of their high school friends and now they are all married and most are pregnant or have babies. Many of these boys dated my DD and still call me Mom. They have all remained friends all these years. It is amazing.
It is raining right nw again. No yard work again today, Something is eating the leaves off the cantalope....it is planted outside the electric fence,,,not sure who or what. I did see sitting on my front porch of all things a baby ground hog. He was small and sort of panicked when we walked out there. but he managed to climb upp the porch rail wall and scoot off the porch. My porch is brick. And high up. WE had a laugh untill we saw the melon patch. so will be watching for him again. I don't want a dog so It is what it is/
Still have 4 more blocks to do on the DP. I have the prtald but and sewn now to sew them together. might work on that tonight.
Ken is putting a new stove hood in for my sis today not sure if I will go or stay home....I should go there and work on the BOM I missed by beingin the hospital. We shall see obout that too.
Well I need coffee...so off to the kitchen O go Have a wonderful day XXXOOO

Re: Friday July 5,2013
good morning...
I had a very productive yesterday... I have my Christmas swap blocks almost done..they are only about 10 inches square and I need to put a border around each one.. that will be tonight or tomorrow... and I have a plan for my calendar swap blocks... I love when things move right along.
Tomorrow is the top dollar sale at good will where everything that fits on your top half is a buck.. dresses, coats, shirts... but I think I will sew instead...it is just too hot to fight over a blouse...our temps should reach a 100 and I have sewing to do.
Maryz.. if only the adoption stuff were that easy, them coming to my house.. the gal who came out yesterday is trying to arrange visitation with Mar's family members who have been terminated.. Marilyn said she doesn't want to talk to her mom or her mom's mom... she would like to see her siblings if the restraining order isn't violated and she would like to see her dad.. the only one that will likely work out is her dad... and personally it will be nice for her mom to get the go away message.. nothing worse than a manipulating, abusing, lying drug addict....love your drive in story.
Sharona, you are almost ready to go.. I bet the OH girls are ready to stay at grandma's.. what fun for them... pack that van girl...hope all is ok with your dog.
Scrappy Pat.. my parents had a station wagon that we went to the drive in in too.. my sister and I would argue over who got the back seat and the "way" back seat...
Kathy, glad DD is improving so well.. the new antibiotic should take care of the infection... and all will be well... it will be good for you to go home and her to get a routine going... I bet she really is thankful for her mommy... and yes, it's strange how the wrong people can influence things.
Jana.. camping sounds fun.. happy vacation time to you.
Velda, I bet your "old fogie" 4th was the best ever, my kind of celebrating...
Lois.. what are you doing in the sewing room? cleaning or sewing? what's your next project?
Suzette, I am so excited to see your kitchen.. we are painting and re-doing things inside our house.. slowly but surely it will get done and I want to see what you do with your kitchen, maybe you'll inspire us...
MaryRose.. thanks for saving me a burger.. hope your weekend is relaxing.
Vicky.. nice that you got to see your son.. are you talking hot glue gun sticks or regular glue sticks?
Judi, we had squirrel and gopher trouble till we got cats.. now we only have to fight the birds..maybe you need an outside cat... glad you had a fun yesterday...
Izzy, bet your hexi quilt is going to be beautiful.. I received a grandma's flower garden top recently and am going to quilt it soon..still working on how to do it.. can't wait to see what you come up with.
I need breakfast and to get ready for work.. I am so going to have a sew fest this weekend...I will get my Christmas swap blocks done and ready to send and I will start on my calendar swap blocks..I am excited about sewing again.. I think I need to host more swaps to keep me going...
hope you girls have a marvelous day....
Chriss

Good morning!
Lois - enjoy your day off and your time in the sewing room.
Suzette - glad it was quiet at your place. Your QOV will be dome in no time!
Mary/Rose - I understand the time constraints. Hope your work day isn't as crazy today.
Vicky - your bbq sounded wonderful. Will your vegan son eat nuts as well as avocados? Hope the glue sticks help you out.
Judi - hope your garden survives all the critters. My DS in OH has groundhogs - they sure are big! I wish you could send your rain our way.
Izzy - sure hope welding the 4-wheel - sounds like you'd have to walk a fair piece to visit all the critters. Please push your rain out west. Enjoy your sewing!
Chriss - sure hope the visitation works out for what is best for Marilyn. Top dollar sale - that's funny! I'll be cheering you on tomorrow during your sew-fest.
I'm sad to say that there were a LOT of idiots (I tried to come up with a kinder name but was unable to) out last night shooting off fireworks. We could not believe it! Some people up the street were actually shooting off those mortar-type rounds. We back up to a field that is tinder-dry. I guess they have more money than brains. There were several fires around town caused by fireworks. Now here's the craziest part - they still allow them to be sold! But it's illegal to shoot them off. That is just crazy. Ok - off the soapbox. Three more sleeps - BOING! Have a wonderful day. xoxo Sharona

Good Sunny Morning..........
Well.......DD is doing well taking showers && I've picked a day to go home!!! Monday!! I can see she doesn't want me to leave & I don't want too but she ready & I now live in an other state. She still has her dad downstairs. We never cleaned out the craft closet so that will be done today. I've been here 3 weeks and have not had sushi!! I hope Kim feels like having it before I leave.
I'll be happy to see my sewing room as I have not sewed or quilted one stitch since I left home. When I visit next I'll bring that girl a good floor lamp!!
Maryz....congratulations on your win. Fabulous job!!!
Love & Prayers......Kathy
