Re: July 1,2013
I only have to work 2 days this week. Today and tomorrow. We are supposed to have more rain today. I know we need it but I am getting really tired of it. Such is life. Not sure if I will make it out to my studio or not today. We will have to see how work goes. I guess I better get going and finish coffee, eat something, get dressed and get out of here in an hour and fifteen minutes. Have a great day.

Re: July 1,2013
Good morning Lois, Suzette, and everyone one else who comes to the party today. Sunday's weather here was pleasantly bizarre! In a little over an hour, just past midday, the temperature plummeted 15 degrees! We turned off the air conditioner by 2 p.m. and were comfortable the rest of the day. I hope the pleasant temps stick around!
Saturday I went in for new x-rays to see why my rib pain is so great. I'm hoping to hear from the doctor today with results and recommendations. All weekend x-rays are read on Mondays, so if it was a busy weekend, I might not hear until Tuesday. I've been lurking and reading, but taking those nsaids that make me sleepy. Tonight it must have caught up to me because I should NOT still be up!
I know I'm going to forget some of the messages I've been hoping to remember as I read, so to anyone with any sort of news that I forget to congratulate or commiserate with, I offer my apologies. Here are the ones I do remember:
MARYZ, congratulations to your friend on receiving her new lungs. May she breathe easy the rest of her life.
KATHY, I remember my dear friend encouraging me, when my broken ankle was healing, "Get up on your good foot and dance!" I wish your DH the same. And, I hope you found some really fun stuff in her craft closet!
JUDI, I LOVE your sunny Dresden blocks! They inspire me to move that pattern way up on my TO DO list. You are forgiven for leaving your camera on the bus...asblong as you had a good time, and how could you miss? I'counting the days til the big show in Long Beach. I'll be going with a dear friend and finishing our day at my favorite tea shop not far from the show. We started that new annual tradition together last year, and agreed to repeat it every year from now on!
CHRISS, what is this Persian Pickle book? I usually read nonfiction, but these Elm Creek novels have been such pleasant reading that I'm considering broadening my literary horizons to include more fiction.
IZZY, Welcome to this wonderful community, and thank you for sharing the pictures of your adorable babies. I am an animal person, so I really enjoy seeing them! It looks like you must have several varieties of chicks, from all the different colors I saw. Which are your favorite breeds of chickens?
I'm starting to feel sleepy, so even though I know there were more of you to address, I'm throwing in the towel--and the tablet--and going to sleep. My best to you all, and of course you're always in my prayers,
Jodie

Re: July 1,2013
Good Morning,
LOIS - TV is our favorite relaxation, too, after a hard day. we DVR everything we want to watch, even the news, and then skip through all the commercials. Have a good work day.
SUZ - we had days and days of rain. It quit 3 days ago and we're already bone dry. Hope you get to do a little bit of sewing.
JODIE - nice to hear from you but sorry you're still hurting. I hope the XR's give you an answer.
JUDI - your DP's are so bright and cheerful!! I'm happy to hear you survived working so hard in your garden. Maybe it's good therapy and you should come out here and let me be your therapist. . .
IZZY - love your pictures of your ba-ba-babies! I love goats. They are so funny and fun to watch. Was it you who asked a day or two ago what "uglies" are? They are household chores - or anything that keeps us from our sewing, actually. Only I think of them as UGHlies.
Good news here is that Sue is vacationing in Bellingham (150 mi north of me near the Canadian border) and they will be swinging by here next Friday/Saturday as they start for home! We're excited! DH is dusting off the RV parking pad getting ready!
Bad news is we lost our sheltie, Snickers, yesterday. His cancer finally got him. Back at the beginning of Feb his doctor gave him 2 months, but he lived for almost 5. So we were blessed to have him for 3 extra months. He was such a sweet, gentle, friendly boy. DH says he keeps thinking he hears him in the house. Maybe he does . . .
You might remember we lost one of our cats last winter, "Bunny". We have one remaining cat now, "Riley". She knows, I'm sure, and is looking around rather suspiciously, wondering where everybody is going . .
The fire in AZ - such a sad event. Prayers for all it touches.
hugs to you all,
mary z

Re: July 1,2013
Maryz: So sorry to hear bout Snickers. I feel your pain. It is so hard to loose your friend. And to loose two of them so close together. Wow, it hurts. My friend Lyn (WeeOne) from here on the forum had to go through that twice this year too. Feel so sorry for all my good friends that have lost furry friends.
My "Willy" is adjusting to his new home now. The first two days, he just wanted to stretch out and sleep. But Mary, you said that he would do well if he knew "his" stuff was there. So on Friday, when we moved, I made sure he watched me as I moved his food dish and water dish, then his little quilt. I made a little spot on the new couch with his blanket and quilt. He curled right up on it.
Mostly, though, all day, he spent at one entrance or the other, watching us with every box of stuff, coming and going.
We are all three getting more "at home" in the new rig. I still have about three more boxes to unpack that are sitting in our shed. I can't get to them until DH put the truck bed cover back on. Might get that done today.
I need to make a trip to get quilt fabric so that I can get started on July Lotto. Can't wait to try that easy block. Hope we get a bunch of new people to try the Lotto this month. It's so easy and the more people that enter, the more winners there will be. Yippee!!!
For all the newbies, I want to say "welcome". Everyone here has made me feel right at home from the get go. I love all my quilty friend, and you will too.
Good luck to all of you working on special projects. Prayers for the Arizona fire victims and oh, so sad for the losses.
God be with us all!!!
Hugs,
Vel

I'm having a pretty slow start to my day today. More rain here, doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon either. I wish I could send it to the West.
I got 10 leaves made last night. I will work more sometime today.
